So as this thread now shows, some mentoring by a previous World Champion was/is instrumental in many cases. And that's my point (to Star Lady in particular) no matter what spin you try to put on it. In light of that, I go back to what I said previously. Why should Tai run training schools without the support or backing of our governing body? That support is what's lacking since he made his statement regarding a training school. Under the Commonwealth ruling they did, but they were not British so that's completely irrelevant. Tai has been completely clear that he wants to bring on the BRITISH youngsters. Read the statement again, it is a fact. Whether you agree or not is your prerogative.

Well let's look at the historic evidence.... There are far more foreign World Champions than British in speedway history. FACT. Fundin, Mauger, Rickardsson and Hancock are all foreign and more importantly multi World Champions. FACT. Tai is the only ever British double (hopefully multi in years to come) World Champion in history. FACT. (Edit: Of course Peter Craven won two also but they were in one off finals). Tai won his two World Championships in GP years not one off's like many of those you name did. FACT. In light of the above I would say that Tai has a huge amount he could pass on to British youngsters to try to get us up with the Fundin's, Mauger's, Rickardssons and Hancock's . Again that's a FACT. Poultec is not run by a two time World Champion who knows what it takes to get to the very highest level. I agree he might not be the best tutor, but we'll never know until he's given some support by those that matter in UK speedway. How many World Champions have come out of the Poultec training? How do you think the worlds best in any discipline/profession get to be the worlds best? They get taught by the best, and in UK speedway that's Tai. And that's a fact, not opinion.

I find her level headed, professional and knowledgeable. What her physical appearance and sexual preference has to do with anything is only in Shovlar's unsavoury mind.

Ha,ha,ha!! This thread is mostly the same old pony being posted by the same old posters who never disappoint. I personally really enjoyed the meting and thought the track was superb. I'm quite jealous of the BV supporters getting to watch speedway of that quality week in and week out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying our track at Poole is bad, it's just that BV's new track is without doubt the best track in the country. Period. As for Pearson & Tatum...love them or loathe them they certainly keep things lively which is what a fast and exciting sport like speedway needs. Tatum also seems to have become a bit of a comedy man with some of his retorts to Pearson. That's definitely a step in the right direction. Just one last point to Shovlar - I find your post about Clare Balding rather offensive and I'm surprised nobody else has commented on it. She may not be gorgeous she may not be skinny and her sexual preference is her own business! Unnecessary and rather nasty.

No he isn't...the 2004 SWC thing is the reason for that. At the time I recall Middlo (the then Team GB Manager) saying Hans would never ride for Poole again (or words to that effect) after his lift on the back straight gifting Sweden the win ahead of GB.

You have supplied NO proof you did and you've also supplied NO proof you rode anywhere let alone against ex-world champion(s). That would be so very easy to prove if it ever happened. Prove you did then. Nobody has ever confirmed you ever rode let alone rode at Poole. My mum did babysit for Middlo many times, but that's a tad more difficult to prove than proving you ever riding a speedway bike, let alone at Poole (which is something new you claim).
