  1. Depends on work...something which us grown ups have to do. If I can get away I'll be there, if I can't I won't. Some of us have an hour and a half rush hour journey to get to Poole!! It's on Sky so I won't be missing anything. Oh and ouch pretty much nailed things - that's what I'm on about. Didn't you comprehend that? Weird.
  2. BOOM! SS has been owned. Oh the irony... And what's the Gavan bit supposed to mean? Utter nonsense as usual.
  3. What are you wittering on about? You are ignoring my point so I'm not going to bother saying anything further except Tai offered to help British riders and the BSPA didn't want a bar of it. End of.
  4. No??? The only similarity that I have with Gavan is that we both don't suffer fools. It appears that most of the forum has the same trait when responding to your posts. That isn't a personal attack on you starman (before you kick off in your usual fashion!), unfortunately it's just reality.
  5. So even a personal friend of his admits he's a troll and deliberately posts for a reaction! Priceless (see what I did there? ). I rest my case m'lud, guilty as accused Well I have no problem debating with him, so you're wrong there.
  6. I do find a lot of Gavan's posts rather strong, however he does get a whole host of stick so sometimes he has just provocation and a lot of the time that provocation is deliberate. He does also spend a lot of time on the Poole threads which I do find rather strange, but overall I personally find Gavan fine to deal with. Speak to him civilly and he's fine. Speak to him aggressively and you get exactly that in return. That's his style I guess. Overall I personally find SS more offensive than Gavan as his posts are generally well thought out and written in a deliberate fashion to provoke. He also won't back down and changes his tune as and when it suits himself to 'win' an argument. I also really dislike the way he likes to portray himself as some kind of Poole supporter mouthpiece. That I detest. So for me, Gavan wears his heart on his sleeve but SS is far more devious. Having said the above, I have my moments too of course Hope that explains things for you Lisa. p.s. I await Shovlars response as I know he won't be able to hold things in after reading the above...so come on lad, let's have it!
  7. Is that you starman? Scroll up the page and see...I must admit I did add it after the original post had gone up so you may not have see it to be fair.
  8. At least Tai does something worth following... I see you didn't answer my question re. Clare Balding so I'll assume you didn't feel it was offensive. That alone should be adequate for you to have the guts to tell Shovlar he was out of order. But then again I go back to my original statement...brainwashed sheep. Baaaaaaaaaaaa
  9. I never thought about things that way, sounds a pretty plausible reason for the 7 average.
  10. I haven't got time to read all 30(!!) pages on this thread, but as a Pirates supporter I'm obviously very happy about the Rio Rocket riding for us once again. He was, and still is if I'm honest, one of my favourite riders and it's fab he's comeback home. HOWEVER, I do question the 7 assessed average he's been given. Seems very low for one of the current top riders in the world. Kudos to Matt Ford for this one as he hasn't broken any rules, stretched any rules or bent any rules on this occasion - but will that change though if Hans rides anywhere else this season?
  11. That's because I'm not one of his brainwashed sheep. And I take it you feel his nasty attack on Clare Balding is acceptable then?
  12. Well he hasn't posted to say it's not him...it would be ace if it was as it would prove without doubt everything he's posted is baloney! So come on robert72, spill the beans.
  13. Where was Tai yesterday then eh??? I'll give you a hint, at the British Under 19 Final where he was helping the kids. Come on, surely Poutec could've done that?! Cheers Gavan, another example of a world class rider teaching a younger British rider. That is what Tai wanted to do in a more official capacity to make it equal for ALL British youngsters. That's the point which is being missed.
  14. There is a rather big difference in what Tai was offering to what Poultec offer. One (Tai) is offering to mentor existing British riders from being league standard to take them forward to the international or potentially world stage. The other offers an introduction into speedway and teaches you what you need to know to learn the trade. That's a whole wold of difference. But keep on talking up Poultec as yes, they can offer what Tai can. NOT. Multiple posters have told me what? Ha, ha!! In your own terms, multiple posters have also stated a number of historic world champions who were mentored by past world champions - which is what Tai was offering. Poultec cannot do that. Goodness me, I cannot explain it any clearer.
  15. I've learned two things in the last few days on this thread; 1) Gavan went a bit overboard trying to prove he wasn't myself (a stupid claim in the first place!) however a few are now using that info. against him Very, very sad. Get a life people! 2) Shovlar has really shown himself to be a very unsavoury character. A completely unnecessary and offensive attack on Clare Balding followed by post after post of argumentative guff he won't back down from even when he's been proven inaccurate and/or wrong. Why do you bother people? Remember when you were at school and there was always that one nipper than HAD to be the centre of attention ALL of the time and is ALWAYS right. Well that's Shovlar. Other than that, as you were folks
  16. Yet again, Wolf, Wolf, Wolf....I hear you cry When it should be Woffy, Woffy, WOFFY!! I know more people in speedway than you, but I can't prove it so you'll just have to believe me. Sound familiar?
  17. So as this thread now shows, some mentoring by a previous World Champion was/is instrumental in many cases. And that's my point (to Star Lady in particular) no matter what spin you try to put on it. In light of that, I go back to what I said previously. Why should Tai run training schools without the support or backing of our governing body? That support is what's lacking since he made his statement regarding a training school. Under the Commonwealth ruling they did, but they were not British so that's completely irrelevant. Tai has been completely clear that he wants to bring on the BRITISH youngsters. Read the statement again, it is a fact. Whether you agree or not is your prerogative.
  18. Well let's look at the historic evidence.... There are far more foreign World Champions than British in speedway history. FACT. Fundin, Mauger, Rickardsson and Hancock are all foreign and more importantly multi World Champions. FACT. Tai is the only ever British double (hopefully multi in years to come) World Champion in history. FACT. (Edit: Of course Peter Craven won two also but they were in one off finals). Tai won his two World Championships in GP years not one off's like many of those you name did. FACT. In light of the above I would say that Tai has a huge amount he could pass on to British youngsters to try to get us up with the Fundin's, Mauger's, Rickardssons and Hancock's . Again that's a FACT. Edited for accuracy regarding Peter Craven.
  19. Poultec is not run by a two time World Champion who knows what it takes to get to the very highest level. I agree he might not be the best tutor, but we'll never know until he's given some support by those that matter in UK speedway. How many World Champions have come out of the Poultec training? How do you think the worlds best in any discipline/profession get to be the worlds best? They get taught by the best, and in UK speedway that's Tai. And that's a fact, not opinion.
  20. I find her level headed, professional and knowledgeable. What her physical appearance and sexual preference has to do with anything is only in Shovlar's unsavoury mind.
  21. Well for a 'repulsive' human being she's doing rather well for herself!!! If only you had an ounce of what she has then maybe, just maybe you wouldn't come across as obnoxious and lairy. Both Ms Balding and Gabby do a brilliant job presenting NOT commentating (what's comentating?). You can't even get that right, HA,HA!!
