If you get 5% off for four of the top five suggested you might just be able to get Morris in place of Ellis if he is going to ride in Poland on a regular basis.

If you had asked riders like Fundin, Briggs, Mauger and Ronnie Moore how much they earned they would quickly tell you where to get off. -

You should have pointed out that £900 a week includes Points, Starts and Travelling money. Also you should have pointed out how much it costs you to race in two meetings per week. I am sure that once all those things are taken into account and after taxes you can take at least half off of that £900 a week. I have been watching almost all of your career and remember a fresh faced lad who came down to race at Iwade for the fun of it. You have no need to defend what you earn; how many of the fans here would tell you how much they earn each year? -
Has another club closed down? Every week I saw the Rye House fixtures they have ridden on a Wednesday at home.

In reality teams had the choice to race in the league that races on the night they want to race. If the Premiership could only attract seven teams that would be their problem as I am sure that the Championship would have loved to have an extra team or two in their ranks because they could have simply scrapped the idea of the Shield competition. The whole situation today is exactly what happened in 1964 when the National League disregarded the wishes of the other clubs around the country and had to beg them to let them join the new British League because few if any Provincial League clubs wanted to ride in the National League.

Do the current promoters or Len own the leasehold, Len purchased the leasehold a few years ago now.

The trouble is not they have not changed things but that they keep making changes that make no sense. Almost every year we hear that the changes we made at this AGM are the changes that will ensure the long term success of British Speedway. The last time they made changes that were made and ensured the future of British Speedway was at the 1964 AGM.

Buster as Chairman has no more input into running British Speedway than any other promoter. The Chairman of an organisation basically plans and controls meetings with support of the Secretary. Sometimes a Chairman may be given a stalemate busting vote but I have no idea if Buster does. The Promoters of the Premiership vote on all matters concerning the Premiership and the Championship Promoters vote on all matters concerning the Championship. At the AGM every year every club has the option of applying to race in the Premiership or the Championship and Rye House had the option of joining the Championship but they decided to change their race night and stay in the Premiership, so the current situation is entirely of their own making. Can anybody honestly say that the thing they have put onto the centre green has had no effect on the attendances at Rye House? People should be putting the blame for the current situation at Rye House down to the Rye House Promotion.

Unless they get rid of doubling up we need fixed race nights. Get rid of doubling up, get rid of fixed race nights. The two options are incompatible with each other. There also must be a rule that riders sign their contracts stating that they will be available for all of their clubs matches, which means either no GP riders or the Premiership having fixed nights on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday without any doubling up.
-
You have two choices with British Speedway: 1) Abolish All Double Up Riding with the exception of one Professional League and the National League (no rider to race in all three leagues). This would enable more teams to race on the nights they wish to; doubling up really prevents this. 2) Alternatively find enough teams who will ride on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday and call that league the Premiership. Then the remaining teams could race on Friday, Saturday or Sunday with no riders in either the Polish League or the Speedway GPs and call this the Championship league. The National League could still race on any night but all riders signed to a Professional League would have to give priority to that league. Of course if they abolish doubling up you could race on all nights except Tuesday or Sunday (The National League being exempted). As long as you have doubling up you cannot have anything other than fixed race nights for either the Premiership or the Championship.

World Championship Pairs

Tai was not the problem, the scoring system was all wrong. It should have been either 4-3-2-0 or 3-2-1-0 for the whole tournament. Arguably GB should have been credited one point in final race as that is what they lead Russia before the race-offs. -

They should have had that scoring system for the whole of the tournament. -
