Only because BV were going to build a team around Joe Screen, who didn't get on with Bjerre. We all know how that played out.

The composition of the council in M/Cr is Labour 95 and Lib Dems 1. So there is nobody really who is going to hold the council to account for this. Could you have imagined them having delivered the Commonwealth Games Stadium in an unfinished state? They wouldn't have been allowed to get away with it, for sure. Personally, I hope Gordon and Morton sue the council and win their case. As for the BSPA's part in this sorry state of affairs, well I doubt that we will ever find out what did, or didn't, go on. Wonder how many of these Councillors even know that speedway exists? http://www.manchester.gov.uk/manchestercouncillors?cllr-party=2&cllr-type=party

Fit in the the BSPA?? More likely to run rings around them.

Isn't there an old saying connected with journalism - publish and be damned. Just a thought.

Was pretty good last time the Hammers were at BV in the play-offs. If we could stop him pulling wheelies down the back straight, he would be a good addition and not much to spend on travel expenses.

Well B V Arena Ltd. is still an active company. It had three directors, of which two (Gordon & Morton) have resigned, leaving Carswell as the only director at the moment. So theoretically B V Arena could still run as the contracting party with M/Cr Council, with a change to the directorship, but who knows really what is going on behind the scenes, other than those party to the discussions? And then there is BVA Holdings, incorporated 23/10/15. which all three are still directors of. Who knows what their intentions were when they formed this company?

And whilst accessing Companies House, take a look at people, click on Gordon and see how many Dissolved/Liquidated businesses he has been associated with. I can't see how there was ever a notion of him being a successful businessman. Morton was sucked in by the dream and it has cost him dearly. Ironically, after Speedway, Morton was a Financial Adviser, but romance triumphed over pragmatism.

Correct Mike and she is also the daughter of the erstwhile Newcastle legend Tom Owen

Seems to have got himself/his equipment sorted out in the last few weeks. Looks dialed in at the NSS now, so probably worth another shot. Scotty would be bettered served away from NSS - even when he's scored good points at home, he's not looked impressive.

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
ABS replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Great meeting yet again at the NSS. So lucky to be able to watch this kind of racing week in week out. Not seen the TV footage, but watching live, I thought that Freddie was hard on Cook, but Zagar gave it back to him on Lap 4. Cookie was wound up, so reacted, whilst Freddie accepted Matej's move. Hard racing - yes, but it was a final, so that's what we should hope for. We lost it on Monday, plain and simple. Hopefully we will regroup and come back stronger. Aces are on the rise again. -

No hiding place tonight - even BBC News N/W showed the result and a clip of Heat 15. -
I'm sure Matt will come up with something agreeable, to Poole anyway.

Great thing for the fans is that BV go well at Wolverhampton and Wolves go well at BV. Should be two very closely contested meetings and for those watching on Sky, we might need Kelvin and Nigel to control their breathing to avoid hyperventilating. -

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs, running R/R means that if say Holder or Tungate has an off night, it will be very difficult for Poole. One thing in their favour, if things aren't going well, is the mickey-mouse Golden Double. I just hope that whoever comes through, they do it without any recourse to artificial influences. -
