  1. Excellent news. Used to love my trips to Cowley. Great track with friendly locals.
  2. Hopefully the Aussies will go with Doyle and either their National Champion, Tungate or Max Fricke.
  3. With Buildbase as the Bees last sponsors, one would hope that they would be more than a help with the materials. Could be a problem with trespass though.
  4. Not the finest hour for the Gorton branch of the Masonic Lodge. All very well and good wanting to announce the team in one go, but has backfired on them this time. Personally, I would like the club to announce signings as and when they happen, as it helps to maintain an interest level during the bleak winter months.
  5. I might be in a minority in that I'd go with Bjerre and not Cook. Most of KB's points were scored from the number one position. Would like to see our heat leaders as Bjerre, Zagar and Fricke, if we can afford it.
  6. Indeed, but the way Swindon rode at home, there would have been no coming back at Belle Vue IMO
  7. All opinions, isn't it? It appears that many ex-riders, including Scott, believed Lindgren to have been the cause of the crash at Belle Vue. Had that decision gone our way, I believe we would have won the double this season.
  8. And Tungate shouldn't have been excluded in the same heat when Thorsell turned on him.
  9. Two very closely matched teams. As we are in the realms of conjecture here, I'd say that but for one awful refereeing decision which went against Kenneth Bjerre, Belle Vue would have done the double this season.
  10. As we keep saying, we don't have a home advantage - riders agree. http://www.wolverhamptonwolves.co/news.php?extend.2853
  11. If it's called off on Wednesday, which looking at the weather forecast seems likely, any idea as to when it would be run - Friday perhaps?
  12. Bet 365 has gone BV-10 at 5/6, so in their eyes Wolves are slight favourites.
  13. Well done Smederna and a special well done to our ex-Ace, Matej Zagar, who was truly awesome throughout the play-offs.
  14. Wonder if this meeting can claim a record for the number of awarded heats?
  15. Expected to pass through by about 4-5 p.m. Gives the track time to dry out - should be OK for this evening.
  16. Would have preferred The Aces at home in the 1st Leg. Only hope that we are not chasing too many in the 2nd Leg as the damage, psychologically, could be done by then. Like most sports, a high percentage is in the head.
  17. Maybe we've been lucky at Belle Vue in recent years with our Aussies, Jason Lyons, Jason Crump and Max Fricke. Certainly my spectator experience would have been a lot worse without these three. Not the slightest bit of bother from any and one so loyal to the club that he is still affectionately known as Mr. Belle Vue and perhaps Mr. Birmingham too. It's a great shame that we never got to see Crumpy at the NSS - now that would have been an awesome sight. We also have a wonderful Aussie manager in Mark Lemon who does a lot for the club and speedway in general, having been a loyal servant to many clubs over the years. Not all Aussies are of the same character, or temperament, I know, but it would be really stupid to throw the baby out with the bath water. Just my opinion.
