  1. Nonsense. Have been there umpteen times, even when the whole track was under water. It drains quickly and the track can be re-laid in 2 hours - oh and no more rain is forecast either.
  2. The lynn track drains very quickly and even if they'd laid the shale it only takes 2 hours to redo. Fine and sunny all day today so the postponement is absolutely nothing to do with the weather. See here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2645456 Presumably you mean well organised speedway in the UK where integrity is high and the spectators are put first?
  3. What do you mean gets it wrong? He knows today will be nice and sunny all day. I've been at Lynn after a deluge - with the sun out the track is fine again just a few hours later. Surely everyone can see through this 'postponement'. Look what happened to Belle Vue a few years ago - and they had better reasons to cancel in my view. Can't really see the BSPA taking action against their chairman but Rye can feel rightly aggrieved.
  4. Holder, Doyle, Batchelor, Watt all have/had a reputation for whingeing about tracks, it's nothing new. There's no way Batch was injured enough to not carry on and he's got away with it. I expect Rye House will feel the full force of a motivated team this week - right place, wrong time.
  5. I don't know - why would there be more? Every year people speculate on results/average manipulation during the season and changes are made with promoters doing it before that riders average drops or before another's gets too high. It would stop that surely? Also, if promoters want riders' loyalty then they have to be loyal to them also.
  6. Making them static for the season would be a start, only revising over the winter.
  7. I doubt it, the luck doesn't seem to be with the Rockets, they could've done with those 4 points, similarly with the away points that Swindon got at Belle Vue. I expect the home riders to react with a big performance on Wednesday on what I expect to be a bald track!
  8. I also thought attendances were up (in general) at the start of this season. I do think British Speedway needs to appeal more to those who live within easy reach of their track. A strong part of that for me is the team identity. I no longer follow one team because I was increasingly finding that as soon as I gained some affinity for the riders, some of them would be moved on to another team part way through the season. Chopping and changing within teams is now become ridiculous and I cannot gain that affinity for team, knowing that not only their riders, but also those in the teams they race against are different almost every time they meet, and every time they meet their competitors. Maybe I'm in a minority here but I'd like to see all team changes being kept to an absolute minimum - what we have now are pic 'n' mix groups of riders rather than teams. In this way, youngsters and local people can get to know a team a little better, which I think is important if they are new to the sport. What's the alternative?
  9. I thn Wolves will winn this by10 points. Rye House have weak links and Perks should be a trump card for Wolves as well.
  10. Lahti is a top rider overseas at the moment. This makes Poole way stronger in my view, just in time for the business end of the season.
  11. Maybe a deal because Swindon have to be top 4? Bet the teams above them feel aggrieved but that's the way it goes sometimes, speedway is not a science and results can be unpredictable.
  12. The same is true of right leg dangling off mid-way through the bend - just makes it unstable and no faster.
  13. Bit unfair on old Frank - was the first I remember to knock Tyson on his backside and could easily have won that, so think he did deserve the chances he got. I thought the final had a few good races but many didn't. As expected Poland were dominant by the end although Lindback did really well to keep Sweden in it. GB did as expected really. Riding on that track gives a great advantage, just as riding at Lakeside may not favour the Poles. Horses for courses but it doesn't make the GB boys bad riders, just had a worse set up - which really shows on a big track and not enough experience to adapt quickly enough. I expect Poland to continue to dominate events in their own country and they have a good crop of young riders - but if Doyle does the business in the Grand Prix this year they will still have only produced two world champions which says something about their ability on tracks outside of PL. The best team won, I'm not disappointed with the Brits as they did their best, Steve Worrall the best of them, roll on next year.
  14. Sent a tweet to BSPA, all these team changes are farcical. Under current rules, it really doesn't matter who's in the team at the start of the season and a rider could end up having ridden for multiple teams over the season. It's no wonder there's dwindling loyalty from riders nowadays and there's none from most promoters any more. Perks has been very poorly treated - I only hope they got him lined up elsewhere before they made the changes.
  15. Yes, GB will win this i reckon. They never describe a hairline fracture as a hairline break, i knew it was broken, my bad. When my wrist broke the bone popped the skin and no way i could ride. GB to win.
  16. If you've ever had both then you'd know there's a huge difference pain and mobility wise between a hairline fracture and a larger break.
  17. Did he? Oh well, can't be broken then. Maybe just a hairline fracture of a smaller bone.
  18. If Lambert has broken his wrist, when will he be able to test if he can ride or not?
  19. GP practice is not compulsory. Good opportunity for the pair of them - however, given Rosco's world cup squad I wonder if Harris has shared with Ellis the compromising photos he has of Rosco as he also seems to be in favour.
  20. I see what you're saying as they are different - lower down I think and it gave a different view of the Poole track. I got to like it at the end as it was almost like the view from the terraces.
  21. Averages should remain fixed for the season and only adjusted at the end. It might stop all this messing about and conspiracy theories. A team near the top shouldn't be able to strenghten. Wow, what a bumpy track poole has become.
  22. Surely the logical thing to do is make averages last for the season and they only change for the start of the next year. Why wouldn't that work? Might save all this messing about and conspiracy theories.
  23. The longtrack meeting is not even today, blimey years ago riders would have to drive through the night to ride abroad, how things change. Is Sarjeant really the best they could do? Must've known about this a while ago but didn't want the public to know. Shame.
