  1. I'd heard he was offered a better deal with Poole so chose to move, not 'released by Plymouth' in the way you've put it. Same result though.
  2. The higher level riders score more points in the Championship than the Premiership - look at the averages to see that. So overall costs would be too high if they paid the same in Championship for the seven riders as a whole.
  3. Ulrich could have got there by the end of the season
  4. I think there will be more than six clubs in the top flight next season and I'll await the rabbits out of hats they produce each AGM.......
  5. I don't think this is right. Most of the riders at the top of the championship averages have much lower premiership averages, so how can the standard be very little different?
  6. I agree. Extraleague averages mean nothing when it comes to the big events. Others are high in that leagues averages but people agree they shouldn't be wild carded into the GPs for example Kolodjiez
  7. They answered this yesterday I think and yes, it can be watched afterwards but only until a certain date - it's on Glasgow's website FAQs. The stream doesn't really interest me but that's not because of the price - although I do think it a little steep when I got BT sport for a month for that with more than one meeting.
  8. I still don't like the scoring system though. For me speedway is about winning. Why don't we have 4320 in league speedway if it's about 'the team'?
  9. Great win for Lambert and Bewley! Poland not winning SON yet in four attempts according to Kelv. My heart bleeds for them
  10. I thought it was a good event, definitely better than most GPs. Whilst it wasn't as good as the Premiership final I really like having teams and the variety of rider. Hellstrom whatsit mixing it well and it shows that there are many riders out there who can compete with the best. Shame about the crashes and was surprised there weren't more given the desperation to get that bit extra. Lambert was very good for us though.
  11. I thought both days were the final. Is saturday only a semi final? I'm confused but that's not hard
  12. But they're not the same standard at all. Just a peruse over the averages for riders in both leagues will tell you that.
  13. I've looked and it seems they have 18 clubs and so do we, but of course Poland is geographically bigger and less dense. I get the tribal thing but I do still think the way people live makes a difference. When I went to Poland, it was really easy to get between places, the variety of sports doesn't seem as popular and you could have a great night in a bar for 5 pounds! Very difficult to compare. Foreign riders of course love it - who wouldn't given the 100k+ signing on fee and 1k to 1.5k paid per point in the extra league.
  14. Fair points but I'm not sure we should look to Poland. When their leagues were pony back in the 60s & 70s they still had massive crowds. Their recent team structures etc. haven't attracted more fans but they do enjoy great backing from the state/councils and globalising has increased sponsorship income no doubt. Its just their fans never drifted away like in the UK and some of that is down to society and living standards. They have less teams as well don't they?
  15. Nothing wrong with the track last night Panthers were passing inside and out.
  16. I agree with much of that but I think inconsistency is a factor too. Any rider on their day can ride a stormer. The British champion surprised a few this year because many thought Bewley would win on home soil. I never though Ulrich would ride as well as he did this year but it does show that it can happen. Great racing in both legs of the final but clearly it was the Panthers doing nearly all the passing last night.
  17. It was mistakes from harris and Palm toft in 13 to not cover the outside line, I could see he was trying that for over a lap and would get by.
  18. It takes two teams to make great racing and these two teams have done that in both legs. So pleased for the old boys!
  19. Unless things have changed, when I've been to Belle Vue there's only one burger van there on the back straight. I think both tracks have the worst provision in that regard.
  20. Great stories of courage against adversity but for me Kenny wins the prize because of the conditions that meeting and the backlash from other riders who wanted it called off.
