Don't know how many women's hairdressers wash hair from the back, nearly always face to face. Inconsistencies is why people are confused and not complying with the guidance. Speedway has very limited risk and I think should be able to resume now.
-
Likewise, I don't get the delay. 4th July would seem entirely feasible under the announced guidance - but then there are inconsistencies all the way through. A hairdresser can open but not a nail bar??

Rest of the GP series

More rounds in Poland simply means the likelihood of a Polish champion increase. Let's have a round at Eastbourne and see how they do -
Polish Extraleague 2020
SPEEDY69 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Glad many seem to enjoy it but are there any tracks in the El out there that aren't smooth and bald? Not really a test for a rider apart from the start, more for the machine. Not really for me that so I won't comment again. Enjoy! -

You haven't missed anything either. All been pretty much processional so far. -

Polish tracks are a lot easier to ride, generally big and smooth so you can twist the throttle with no fear This is why Polish riders generally always struggled in the UK as they weren't used to the varying sizes and conditions. Just different skils/techniques. -
One Day World Final?
SPEEDY69 replied to Sotonian's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Each to their own of course but I like Cardiff, it has provided some great action. Manchester did provide good racing for the World Cup a few years ago when I was there but the seating/toilets/catering/weather exposure and public transport made it a much less enjoyable experience. I also like to see speedway around different tracks for variety of size, surface and results. If they were all 400m wide ovals I would get bored quite quickly. -
Will British Speedway Survive ?

Yes, they are loans which ultimately, we will all pay for. The money has to come from somewhere and this government has already raised the national debt/borrowing through the roof even before this pandemic. -
Gaining crowds, as I've said before on numerous occasions is not about the quality of the racing but the experience for the fan. Good conditions to be in, things to do, social activities, interaction, different things for children, concurrent events such as birthday parties etc. The masses won't come to watch fantastic racing on a freezing cold damp evening in a field. Marketing a great experience is what will attract. Some other sports/events are as dull as a tuber but get good attendances.

I never noticed any change when I last looked - about 10 days ago - track next to kerb looked no lower but in any case, what will count is if the inside/outside lines both offer something to those capable of using them.

resistance is futile. A virus will spread, that's why they're good at it. Containment/delay is all about minimising NHS impact and consumer panic.

Draws are settled easily in competitions such as this, including speedway. Every rider in each race is trying to win and if they don't think they can, they can work as a team to score as many points as possible. The same happens if they are first and second. Leaders can help 3rd get to 2nd just as easily as 2nd helps 4th to 3rd. To give more points to losers is an awful idea.
-
This is what I don't get. Just because it's billed as a team event doesn't mean we should reward second and third mire than first and fourth. League speedway is definitely a team event but 3-2-1 seems to work well there?
-
What's with all the TEAM, it's FAIR, do you think I'm thick? I disagree, this effectively ranks 2nd and 3rd as better the first and fourth. To me there should be no difference and in team speedway that's been how the points have been awarded for decades.
-
The same applies for recorded figures of other illnesses. Surely it has to be based on reported cases, so for reported cases of seasonal flu, 0.1% of people die. Statistics never really tell the whole story but I agree with what point I think you're making in that there is unjustified panic over this outbreak.

Tungate has already signed -
Was always the plan. Jason wouldn't have come over otherwise.

Lanham instead of Crump would doubtless saveloy of money for the club.

Was awful last time I was there for a championship meet a couple of years ago ( Sheffield were the visitors I think) -
He moved out of the UK a few years ago.

We disagree then. We could talk about the definition of what it means to look 'professional' of course but that may get really tedious. Any rider who is licensed and paid for riding speedway is a professional. How they look is simply a matter of preference. Oh, and a TEAM is a collection of INDIVIDUALS (see, I can patronise as well )
-
No, I don't. And I also remember some fantastic race suits some of the riders wore, looking very professional in the coordination with their machinery etc. Of course I'm not stupid and understand the points you've made except I don't agree on the need for team suits. TV coverage of course in the 70s/80s was less frequent but did air on shows such as World Of Sport, watched by millions rather than the tens of thousands who tune into the BT Sport coverage. Additionally, in those days it wasn't just teams that were sponsored, the whole league was! We could go further down the clone track of course, have the same helmets and ditch helmet colours because they no longer serve any purpose either because it's easy to see who's on each team - except for the new signings, guests etc.
-
Dump them and let the riders have their own race suits and pay for them/advertise with them. I know I'm seemingly in a minority here but I'm perfectly capable of telling apart the riders from each team without them having to be in clone suits.

For a successful team you need riders who can perform away from home as well. -
I was there a week ago, can't say I noticed any change to the banking. Minor if any I'd say.
