Ipswich v Sheffield Thursday 4th June
SPEEDY69 replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No doubt this would've been on, in the 80s, but not these days. "Can you come to play badminton/marbles/tiddlywinks this week?" "What night?" "Thursday." "Oh OK yeah, i used to have speedway that night but it's rarely on these days so I might as well." -
Influenced of course by the almost wholly right-wing media. Where's the headlines praising the Government for the massive reduction in immigration and small boats which has been achieved since 2024/5?? How about the progress with the NHS and reduced waiting lists?? No, all we get is Peter Mandleson stood in his pants - as if that had any real impact on people in the UK ๐

I quite like the suggestion of awarding one point each and not re-arrange, this would focus minds a bit. It would also mean fixture lists could stay as they are for the season. There would need to be exceptions for playoff meetings and cup meetings where that wouldn't deliver a victor and then if clubs have commitments for x number of meetings they could fill them with other events, like clubs used to hold. I'm not in Ipswich today so can't give the weather picture but it's currently sunny here in Stratford. -

That's showers for you! I'm about half a mile as the crow flies to foxhall. -

In other news it's dry and sunny here in Ipswich, windy too. Tomorrow looks a little wet, who knows if it was premature yet. Without regular speedway people just don't bother and drift off. -

Of course I will. Integrity matters to me, shame it doesn't apply to others.๐ In that post on the Witches site, see who comes last in the consideration "an early decision has been taken to minimise any inconvenience to teams, riders and fans."๐ -

Normally dry in October, much better than the monsoon season in late May & June. -

Isn't he one of the backroom mob/silent partners at Northampton and would surely have been lobbying for the cancellation๐ -

I see Sheffield are strengthening for this one, could be close, although the forecast isn't great ๐ -
Don't they have to pay the FIM to stage the GP, a very tidy sum as well?
-
Think he was top of the averages in 1980 so 81 must have been a bad year for the 21 year old๐. He's my GOAT.
-
What do you mean, "what a rift"?? In the 70s of course we had weekly meetings, much better in my view as it kept fans engaged and enabled relationships to be built with your team.
-
Agree 100%. It will rain tonight, just a question of when, but yesterday was not the time to call it off. Forecasting can be more certain on the actual day
-
-
I'd say just the same as last year so far.
-
No, and he actually rode a lot better than he has been this season in the Premiership.
-
Surprised! I usually slide my finger over the phone keyboard rather than tap on each letter so sometimes it brings up something erroneous. If you put that word into Google, see what it comes up with. ๐
-
Well, that was closer than I expected! Harris, who's been poor for Glasgow, made some good starts tonight, Klindt looked like he was trying as well. Both No.1s were a let down, but Lidsey, wow, surprusex he's not more bloated as he surely struggles to pass water, the epitome of the phrase 'gating tart' ๐
-
I couldn't see that reflected on the official Witches site when I looked earlier๐ Unlucky for Northampton, think Iversen has been riding quite well.

Czech GP Prague Saturday 23rd May
SPEEDY69 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It was a great GP, good close racing, easy travelling, easy entry and great view. Only downside were the beer queues and they're was no merchandise on sale apart from Czech Speedway and Dudek had a stall. -

Morris was overseeing it, saw him earlier on, along with Tony Olsson. Credit to him as well as he went and thanked everyone on the centre green personally, marshalls, 1st aiders etc. -

It's baking hot here and the queues for the beer are mental.
