What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

That didn't make them unviable as businesses though - a profit can be made even on crowds of that size. -

I don't think it would be a return for all those clubs at the same time! They would have to work it out. If a minnow club was lost because of a return of a well supported one I think that's still a better situation overall but I don't think it would necessarily come to that. -
what radio station is that and any idea what time?

Can't remember him saying that. -
Phil Morris gave evidence in person at the save coventry speedway enquiry and did a good job. He has also made the show slicker by standardising things and meetings over the last couple of seasons have moved through more quickly.

If there's no premiership and the championship seemingly don't want to strengthen, my days of live speedway in the UK will be over. The odd meeting over BSN fair enough but I'm not paying £20+ to watch a couple of veterans, NDL riders and those who never made it, it doesn't float my boat. Amateur racing for free or £10 max then I would go. -

No-one has said that. Louis has merely put the club up for sale. -

Reg Holdsworth I think -
Ha, wasn't an insult, merely an enquiry 🙂

As you speak for Mr Nicholls with so much knowledge of his view, I assume you either are him or his lover maybe?
-
Agree with you on the first para but I don't think he's said what I've put in bold?
-
Did I miss the bit where this was confirmed? The rest, as you say, is unknown.
-
Garbage (the highlighted bit). A well run club will be able to attract and maintain sponsorship of the level required to operate profitably. Other clubs struggle to do this, as well as pay riders on time, act professionally to gain local prominence and get 1.5k to 2k fans to attend. So I'd say it has been well run, it's not luck!

And you know this how? He's certainly not let me down and the 6-7k crowd for the play off final was testament to the hard work that's been put in. -
On occasions but not as a rule and I don't agree the racing is better, not from the meetings I've seen on BSN.
-
Agreed. In recent seasons at Foxhall watching Doyle thread his way through opposition riders has been fantastic.
-
I've not commented on this news yet as still been taking it in. If this results in Ipswich putting out a lower standard of speedway in 2026 then I will only attend maybe once/twice, rather than most weeks. When they dropped down in 1989 I travelled to Reading for the next few seasons. I'm afraid I prefer to watch the best in the world and one or two in each team is fine - if there's none of them then it holds much less attraction for me. Sad times and must have been awful for Chris to have to pull out.

Don't think so no, gave that up a while back I think.

So more of a sideways move than promotion/relegation 🤣 -

Don't think I'd bother going. -
So someone's prospective team sits above 36 but below 37. You couldn't make it up..... oh but they do🙂
-
As I said on a previous thread, rider pay is not helping the sport grow in the UK.
-
If that's the case then I agree with Ipswich here. Rider costs/demands are helping British Speedway to go down the plughole.
