  1. It always used to be a 1.5 multiplier, guess that must have changed then.
  2. There are and will continue to be clubs in Poland struggling to survive, it's not all rosy.
  3. Any many got used to them losing and didn't want to come along and witness another loss. Winning is attractive. I go simply to see good racing, no matter who wins.
  4. Don't think it's that, he's just not competent enough. British speedway is not an easy gig.
  5. I have no idea who that is. Someone said he'd ridden here before, was that at Championship level?
  6. Not for me, looks like they'll be vying for the spoon with Leicester.
  7. I thought Douglas was poor this year when I saw him so again they'll be expecting more I think.
  8. It was still an impressive night for him, just for the speed he showed. To me the stand-out rider of the meeting. It shows he's capable and it's consistency, the perennial rider challenge, that eludes him. It will be elsewhere that Leicester fall down I think, unless there's a surprise signing.
  9. Don't think Dudek would be any good in the UK. Pawlicki mk2 without the overtaking ability.
  10. If you were there you'd have seen. Was 10mph fastest than anyone else in clear air.
  11. I think they mean 8 points each meeting not every two 😄
  12. No but Lindgren was only signed late on, this time you'll have Tobi from the off so I think that makes for a better prospect at the start of the season than this year.
  13. He was fantastic at Foxhall at one of the meetings last year so Leicester will be hoping he can more like that every meeting and if he can they should be ok to mix it.
  14. A great team to start the season - I just hope we don't have too many one-sided meetings to watch.
  15. 2024 was a good year then as I think they only lost three times at home and only once by more than 8 points, I'd say they were competitive. Away from home many sides struggled at times but Lynn have never been that great on their travels as far as I remember.
  16. They should also try to convince Doyle to be the team captain, he is inspirational.
  17. I suppose that depends on whether you want to watch live speedway or only watch it if you win. I much prefer to see good racing, whoever wins rather than boring victories but I know others think differently. I've seen some good meeting where my team has lost sometimes by quite a margin.
  18. He gets criticism in my view because people think he doesn't do well in pressure situations when we need it. Whether that's fair or not is for you to decide but an example would have been the play-off semi at Leicester where he fell twice on his own, at least once was when on a 5-1 which turned over quite a lot of points, where team riding or being sensible with his partner was the obvious choice. I think taking the captaincy off him would see him improve his performances.
  19. He also intimated at the speedway show that Brennan was leaving Brum but Lord Tolley said "are you sure about that?"
  20. The NFL draft pick system works very well and it's not always the same teams near the top at the end of the season so I think that's a great idea, not just about who has the biggest wallet.
  21. Disagree on that regarding captain. King gets stressed by it I think and if free of that role may do better. On TV last season when interviewed one time I remember he was not inspiring at all and downbeat about our chances. A great captain can make a huge difference to how a team performs.
  22. Says who? Lord Tolley was quite clear that they will break even on a crowd of 500. Of course they hope to get many more than that with a better team that looks likely.
  23. Lord Tolley gave a good insight during his interview at the speedway show on Saturday. I didn't know that their stadium rent is paid monthly over 12 months and he said was £5.5k. The other point of interest I noted was that they have budgeted for next season based on a crowd of 500, which should be easily achievable.
  24. Well, the best thing is to go at your own pace - too fast too soon can spell disaster. I learnt by building up speed on the straight, lean right over, standing on footrest with bum off the seat and forward then put the throttle back on mid bend. You then gradually bring that bit to earlier in the bend but speed into the corner must also increase. When you feel confident enough you'll find you're then doing all the bend sliding. Once you start sliding, mid bend onwards, you can experiment with the throttle - less and back comes out less, more and you turn more. This teaches you how to change direction in the corner. The biggest thing for me was starting. You really have to go full throttle from the gate and not let off at all, otherwise you may struggle to get around the corner, especially from the inside, but no need to start that until you've mastered the bends.
  25. Riga is a great city, so don't rule that out. Racing can be good/rubbish anywhere, especially if weather dependent.
