  1. Ha, wasn't an insult, merely an enquiry 🙂
  2. As you speak for Mr Nicholls with so much knowledge of his view, I assume you either are him or his lover maybe?
  3. Agree with you on the first para but I don't think he's said what I've put in bold?
  4. Did I miss the bit where this was confirmed? The rest, as you say, is unknown.
  5. Garbage (the highlighted bit). A well run club will be able to attract and maintain sponsorship of the level required to operate profitably. Other clubs struggle to do this, as well as pay riders on time, act professionally to gain local prominence and get 1.5k to 2k fans to attend. So I'd say it has been well run, it's not luck!
  6. And you know this how? He's certainly not let me down and the 6-7k crowd for the play off final was testament to the hard work that's been put in.
  7. On occasions but not as a rule and I don't agree the racing is better, not from the meetings I've seen on BSN.
  8. Agreed. In recent seasons at Foxhall watching Doyle thread his way through opposition riders has been fantastic.
  9. I've not commented on this news yet as still been taking it in. If this results in Ipswich putting out a lower standard of speedway in 2026 then I will only attend maybe once/twice, rather than most weeks. When they dropped down in 1989 I travelled to Reading for the next few seasons. I'm afraid I prefer to watch the best in the world and one or two in each team is fine - if there's none of them then it holds much less attraction for me. Sad times and must have been awful for Chris to have to pull out.
  10. Don't think so no, gave that up a while back I think.
  11. So more of a sideways move than promotion/relegation 🤣
  12. Can't believe none of you remember the absolute awful tracks which were presented at world finals in the 70s and 80s. Wembley was never good but didn't stop the crowds did it. Need to look elsewhere for reasons for the decline in fan numbers and you mention some of the things here.
  13. So someone's prospective team sits above 36 but below 37. You couldn't make it up..... oh but they do🙂
  14. As I said on a previous thread, rider pay is not helping the sport grow in the UK.
  15. If that's the case then I agree with Ipswich here. Rider costs/demands are helping British Speedway to go down the plughole.
  16. Which raises the expectation that all the races are like that and when they go and find out they're not, will they return? Agree with other points.
  17. All those things are great and may have got a lot of people through the door but when they attend and stand out in the cold/wind being 'entertained' by someone on a mic talking drivel or just music for what seems like an eternity balanced against the 15 minutes of actual races, of which two were interesting then most won't come back. It's the entertainment at the track on the night which has to improve - and I don't mean just more races. More interaction, more involvement of fans in the night, interactive social media, rider interaction, play areas/side shows and many other ideas that people have mentioned before.
  18. Landlords will want the same money for the year, so less meetings means the rent for each one will be higher. Fanbase will be smaller because people will get out of the habit of going if they're less frequent. Can't make one as you're on holiday and the next one is not for a month it's easy to think oh well I won't bother as you've probably found an alternative routine/thing to do.
  19. No. Fanbase would get smaller, rents would increase and stadium owners even more likely to kick-out speedway tenants.
  20. Agreed, he found his level a few years ago, hasn't got the technical style to improve much, said this when he was at Ipswich.
  21. Although he was over-sliding out of the bends, being a bit of road block for two behind him in one race off bend 2. He will undoubtedly improve this as time moves on, certainly has the right attitude. Also thought this was quite a good meeting, Ace P impressed me with his racing brain when ahead/passing/trying to and what a great rider from Trigger when re-passing and holding off Rushen. Only a few of them looked out of their depth.
  22. And it was as pointless as it can be given the guaranteed result -can't understand why people would bother watching.
  23. Who will notify them of the typo? (their final position statement was issued on 26th October 2025🤣)
