I find age a total red herring, JL was a novice at 28, Lee British champ at 17 I think. I'm also uninterested in performance outside of the UK but was merely responding to the 'best young aussie' and jawing with Baldyman. No doubt these riders will all improve.
-
But you said the best young aussie, nothing about 'breaking through' or 'success' so did you mean the best of the rubbish aussies? Ben Cook is also way ahead of Rew, thanks to his season with the Panthers.
-
I'd say that was LIdsey but you're right, Rew has been pants.
-
Everyone was rating that Jonas Knudsen as well and he's not great either. Never really liked many Danish riders in general - Nielsen and Eriksen being the exceptions.
-
No thanks, I think he's no longer suitable for the top league, too timid.
-
Yes, as happened at Coventry which has been deliberately left to rot for about 7 years now.

Riss and Rew have cost Ipswich this season, shame as they had the potential. -

Why is breum withdrawn, just to give them the ability to use his third ride with a reserve? I see King worked his magic in ht12 again -
The stuff which Aidan and Les Collins do at Buxton is marketed for those types of people, so it can be done but not at local tracks due to the time and council restrictions on events at many venues. Other attractions at the speedway - so, holding parties/events is something which could be done though, including exclusive access to speedway stuff.

Totally agree. I wasn't bothered by the result, (apart from I didn't want madsen to do well) and went for the venue - the city is accessible, friendly, full of speedway fans & things going on, all in a small area. The world cup I went to at belle Vue was awful in comparison, dump area, not easy to get to by public transport, very limited parking and nowt to do around the stadium - plus if it rains, oh well wasted trip.

This can't be right, I thought Eurosport owned the rights to showing Tai Woffinden -
The only team they haven't beaten at home is Belle Vue so I guess you've just been unlucky seeing the losses or have only watched them away from home. Perhaps you bring them bad luck

Does UK speedway need a new televised product?

I agree. Regarding your question I think that that is also in danger of withering. I am completely bored with it - I much prefer team events. -
Not sure that's wholly fair but they have been around the fourth/fifth best team, which is what the league shows. Belle Vue are seventh bottom Now if you want Ipswich to do well because they haven't been changing their side just before the play-offs then I agree. However, the play offs should be a separate competition and there should be merit (including prize money for the clubs) for their position in the league itself, irrespective of the play-off results.
-
In the Sheffield statement it said they were faced with rider commitment issues in the last week or so, which forced them into changes - must've been referring to Ellis or Kerr - maybe because Ellis said he wasn't riding for a week?
-
I see boughen failed to get a point tonight, how did he look (if you were there of course)?
-
I think he was British champion at 17 wasn t he? And there was some stiff competition.
-
I hope he doesn't pick up any injuries then. Should be good for a premiership berth next season.
-
That's big praise. Not seen him yet but has to go some to be better than Lee or Nicholls.
-
As he had been all year - I said he was destined for the top when seeing him score 6 I think it was at Foxhall early this season and nothing since changes my mind. Shame for King in this meeting, without being wiped out in the first running thought he could've nicked that final. Well done 'blind willie' Dishington (no relation to 'blind Willie' mctell)

Same with glasgow

You like to argue eh? That would still have been their first meeting. Do you not think it ridiculous that a rider can be fitted into a team on the basis of an assessed average by 'signing' for a club today when everyone knows they don't actually have their first meeting for a fortnight and everyone knows they will get a real average before then which would make it too high to fit into the team. That's all I am proposing to deal with.
