SGP wild cards 2024
SPEEDY69 replied to longmeadow's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
On the TV yes, in person no thanks. -
But no-oe is suggesting they won't get the rental. If the prospective promoters are happy to pay it I still don't see what crowd sizes at other tracks matter to this hearing. Have BE stated what rent they'd expect?

But Germany will pay to host a round if he's in it -

Nope, could never agree with that. Nothing to do outside of the stadium, seating extremely limited (for the World Cup a few years the temporary stand were awful, people just peeing on the grass and food queues 2 miles long) and if it rains a totally wasted trip. Fine if you only ever watch on TV. -
Surely viability is a question solely for those who are running or wish to run a club. If it wasn't, they'd soon disappear. Neither Poole or Swindon have done because of viability so why is it important if the crowd figure is 10k, 1k or 1, in terms of viability?

Ipswich v Sheffield play off final 1st leg

Everyone knows lamberts average is way higher than his 4 year old one used to get him into the side -

I think the point is nearly all riders were getting around it perfectly well, including Lambert when he won his heat in the fastest time of the night. So what Guy may have meant by that I think is that apart from the serial whinger no-one else seemed to be moaning about it. -
Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23

There is no rule on first bend bunching at all. The rule they manipulate for this is 'unsatisfactory start', originally intended for the very initial part of a race. -

Don't think so, he sits on the seat too much going in, making him more susceptible to grip changes in the bends, very difficult to guide this out of someone. -

I'm hoping for Ipswich making the starts and staying there, with passing only when they don't make the start -

Yes, as I said before it's not Sheffield but a league select. -

I think it may have been because of the comparison with the racing from previous decades at Lynn - I remember Henka and Loram in particular and some previous World Cups I think, before clay became such a heavy composite there (which I realise was for the stock cars) -

Not sure about now Mick but in the late 90s we did use yellow methanol - it was brought in to stop cheating with fuel. -

Each to their own, Doyle in heat 10 or 11 when beating Lambert was right on the edge, as fast as he could go, super gutsy & great to watch. -

I wonder if any of the keyboard warriors on here were actually trackside? Nothing wrong with it at all, just need Skill to ride it fast. Hume falls on the track all the time as he doesn't get off the seat, very similar to how Jake Allen used to ride it. Others showed how it could be done, one of Doyle's best meetings for the Witches, him and Emil a class above, riding together for those 2 5-1s. Messrs LorM and Gollob would loved that tonight. The 2k crowd left the track in great spirits. -

It's not meant to be. It's a serious which needs to sell, attracting not only fans from many nations but also the venues. I think it mixed it up and so much better than just picking the 3/4 riders below from the top 6. Dude & Janowski have had enough chances.
