  1. Well, Graversen the first rider to be confirmed coming back. Although looks like it will be a very different team to last year. Comes in on a 4.14 average so hopefully be starting at reserve again. Scored well at the start of the season, struggled in the middle but finished off quite strongly so should hopefulyl be a good reserve again. As for the rest of the side, no idea who it will be now. Looking like no Lawson/summers/Smith who were all high on my list to sign.
  2. From what I have heard, sounds like it will be a very exciting season for Glasgow..
  3. Been quiet on here so with there being a social night at the STMP tonight, thought I would give this a bump! Still no clue as to how we will line up this season. Would like to keep Lawson if his EL commitments could let that happen without missing too many meetings. Would like to keep Summers and Skidmore as well. Would be good to see Kozza Smith this season as he is an entertainer, and I think his loss really affected our side this season. As for the rest, who knows? Would be surprised if Wilko did not head to Peterborough with his sponsor. Graversen started and ended the year well, and I would tempted to include him again if he would start at reserve. Hopefully after tonight we will have a few more clues!
  4. Same at Redcar as well - second halves always have a decent number of people staying back as well. I do think the next step is a Northern NL side though - whether coming from standalone PL sides or some clubs joining together.
  5. As far as I'm aware, the sites only need to be hosted on the .co domain. Quite a few of the sites have different looks and are maintained and updated by a variety of people (although AP Media to run a whole load of sites for teams)
  6. I agree would only have him if he doesn't miss so many meetings.Think that was due to the late transfer to Lakeside, I would liek to think if the same was to happen this season we at least have more time to plan the fixtures around availability. At the start of this season Lawson was pulling out some of the best moves I have seen at the STMP. Granted as the season went on, for whatever reason, they became fewer and far between. He does rely more on his gating, but if 9 times out of 10 he makes the gate then I don't mind that. Cant have a team full of racers, you need someone who can reliably make the gate and get the win.
  7. Bit of a tough one for me this season I think. I would take Lawson back like a shot, but not sure he would want to come back. I would like to see Summers back, very solid rider and same for Skidmore although the noises he has made so far do not sound massively positive. I can't see Lemon back, and 50-50 on Wilko. When he is on it he is excellent to watch and never gives in, although I am sure he would admit he didnt have his greatest season. At reserve would be surprised if Konopka was not in the side. Started well, was pretty poor for a good while but picked up again towards the end of the season. Think he is worth the risk on a 3. Would like to see a young Brit at reserve with him (hopefully every PL team has to have at least 1). Not sure if Crang would want to come back, and probably a season too early for Danny Phillips? Maybe Rob Branford is a good shout if he comes back over. Possibility of Hall coming back on a low average? Would be surprised if the team is drastically different from this years though.
  8. I'm sure I read somewhere that each rider drops the lowest score from the rounds they have competed in. Not sure if that is true however.
  9. He was a Workington asset when he signed for Redcar. Only afterwards he became a lakeside asset.
  10. Lineup for the Julie Lewis Memorial Trophy is as follows: 1. Tom Perry Cradley 2. Ben Hopwood Stoke 3. Reece Downes Scunny 4. Danny Ayres Kent 5. Danny Phillips Cradley 6. Brendon Johnson Poole 7. Ben Basford unattached 8. Sam Chapman Scunny 9. Danno Verge Scunny 10. Chris Widman Stoke 11. Luke Chessell Kent 12. Max Clegg Cradley 13. Reserve TBC. Admission is £10 for Adults, with Kids (15 and under) free.
  11. outclassed by a solid Berwick side tonight. Would happily pay money to watch Bellego and Jensen every week. Only Summers really turned up tonight for the Bears (although he was excellent). Felt a bit sorry for Jan, who got stuffed badly in a couple of first bends.Good to see Kus back to something like his best - he is racing again now and not just riding around.
  12. Could be any result really - although obviously no Lawson does weaken us somewhat. Have really enjoyed the last few meetings though, the racing on the whole has been pretty good and I have gone home entertained . Hopefully the same will happen tonight, with another Bears win to boot!
  13. Richard posted on Twitter that he is riding for Lakeside as it is not a re-arranged meeting.
  14. Cant argue with much of that. 1 rider in 2 heats, and Rafal having to take 7 rides so happy to get any win. Actually thought it was a pretty decent meeting with some good racing. Heat 15 was a cracker in particular. Skidmore really seems to have come of age this season, and thought Wilko battled hard for his points. Rafa was a bit unlucky to only get 2 points as well, best he has rode for a while. Back was an excellent guest but impressed with Rose. Started slowly but ended the meeting very well. Would have been tempted to chuck him in heat 15.
  15. Graversen also missing tonight after his fall yesterday, Lewis Blackbird will guest in his place.
  16. Totally agree with this - would cut down on a lot of restarts like we had last night as well. But if the rules are there they should be applied consistently. I did say in 1 heat, not heat 1. To be quite honest that is possibly true though, he could have excellent reactions. From the naked eye he appeared to get a flyer and that is the issue with the rules as they currently are. As above, should just change the rules as long as the tapes aren't broken.
  17. He clearly jumped in 1 heat - not sure about the rest. Although he should surely have been excluded in one heat as well. Was warned in the first running, then got called back in the next re-run for him jumping but not excluded? He was excellent value last night though - enjoyed watching him.
  18. Blew both his engines i think, although would still have put him out on borrowed machinery
  19. Castleford 28 Danny Phillips 3 3 3 = 9 Sam Darroch 2* 1 1 = 4+1 Kean Dicken 3 3 3 = 9 Harry McGurk 2* 2* 2* = 6+3 Northside 8 Paul Bowen F 2 2 = 4 Lloyd Ditchburn 1 0 0 = 1 James Hitchen 1 1 1 = 3 Luke McKenna 0 0 0 = 0 Heat 1) Phillips, Darroch, Ditchburn, Bowen (F) - Awarded - 5-1 Heat 2) Dicken, McGurk, Hitchen, McKenna - 66.9 - 5-1, 10-2 Heat 3) Phillips, Bowen, Darroch, Ditchburn - 57.7 - 4-2, 14-4 Heat 4) Dicken, McGurk, Hitchen, McKenna - 67.2 - 5-1, 19-5 Heat 5) Phillips, Bowen, Darroch, Ditchburn - 57.1 - 4-2, 23-7 Heat 6) Dicken, McGurk, Hitchen, McKenna - 66.3 - 5-1, 28-8
  20. It would be financial madness for Redcar to run against the World Cup IMO, and they have very belatedly done the right thing (should never have been planning on running). I'm not sure what it is like at other tracks but I know there are a lot of fans at Redcar who also love their football. If it was just a 'normal' game on then people would go to speedway and watch the game afterwards but this is the World Cup. I know I would have not been going to the speedway next Thursday and I'm sure there are many others like me. I do have every sympathy with people who have booked time off/hotels etc though. Poorly handled/planned from the start.
  21. Would have been financial suicide to run against an England World Cup match so have no problem with the call off - more worrying is that was scheduled in the first place! Edited to add that it should probably have been called > 10 days beforehand though.
  22. His first choice engine was away for tuning I believe. Just didnt look comfortable all night really.
  23. Agree with all of that, was very disappointing. I think tonight shows how reliant we have been on Jan. He has been excellent for us this year. Ipswich were very solid, without anyone really looking outstanding. Tungate looked good and Heeps overtake of Jan in heat 14 was excellent. A fully deserved win for them.
