  1. Take a bow Luke Harrison. Super night from him, and Edwards had one of his hot nights and was also excellent. Hume and Bailey very solid in middle order as well, King struggled a bit early doors bit came good st the end of the meeting. Basso excellent for Oxford along with Masters as expected. Solid from Howarth, and Jenkins had a good return. Some decent racing so good night all round.
  2. Decent enough meeting, Scunny might feel slightly hard done by but think just about a fair result. Heat 15 was a cracker, think Wright would have got Douglas anyway but will never know! Wright excellent for Bears and good to see Riss get back to something like we know he can. Could tell how much that heat win meant to him. Bailey keeps getting better and better, paid 10 riding at three is excellent return. Edwards blowing a bit hot and cold at the minute, but big ride in heat 14. Harrison is very much on the pace and getting better with every ride - reminds me a bit of early season Mulford where givong everyone 30 yards at the start but that will come. Encouraging to see him out straight after the meeting with King helping him out. Douglas excellent got Scunny as always, Allen started slowly but came to the party and Mountain also good value, thankfully for us Lambert had a poor night!
  3. Gutted we lost the meeting, but thoroughly enjoyable night of speedway that had a bit of everything. Mulford was superb, and it's great to see him come on week by week. Hume and Bailey again rode well and maybe deserved more. Wright was superb but shows we need all our heat leaders to be firing really. Heat 15 I thought we maybe got lucky.. Ben Cook is just so good to watch round Redcar, alongside Worrall and Lawson who rode well. Congratulations to Poole, and I think a great advert for what this sport can be.
  4. Whilst the Berwick fans will point to a poor performance from their side, it was an equally good performance from the Bears. Didnt really look a weak link tonight - having Riss back a lift for the whole side. Good to see King back on form, and both Hume and Bailey rode hard for not as many points as they may have deserved. But hats off to Mulford tonight, best home performance by a mile and rode really well. Shows what at least getting to the first bend in the mix can do, but made some great passes and will surely take a whole load of confidence from tonight. Knudsen had a strange night, looked excellent in his first two and then nowhere. Hook did his job but otherwise a poor performance. A big well done to Rory Schlein however - my nephews always stand and wave at the away riders vans as they leave. They often get a wave back, but Rory stopped his van and gave them a cap which they were absolutely over the moon with. A simple but effective way to get two new fans.
  5. Not sure if it is a league ride thing, but so far this season both teams have had a couple of minutes of practice laps before the parade at Redcar. Did not see it myself either but that's when Flint came off, looked pretty painful. Fairly run of the mill meeting in the end, slick track (understandably) meant gating at a premium. Schlein impressed with soms good gating and hard first bends. Edwards was excellent with Hume and Bailey also looking decent
  6. Agree with Yearby - slick track meant close racing but not necessarily a lot of passing. Great challenge for Bears though and top 3 were excellent. Thought Bailey did well and Hume certainly showed promise. Never seen anyone work as hard for no points as Mulford. Think when the track has an outside line will see the best of him and Hume.
  7. Should be a tough challenge for the Bears, hope we will just have the edge but should be a good meeting.
  8. Good looking side. Good top end, delighted to see Riss back. Hume is solid second string and Edwards should be one of top reserves in the league. Mulford looks to be one of the better 2 pointers, and was excellent up here in the Under 19 Final.
  9. Shame to see Lewi and Jordan leaving, good luck to both!
  10. He was superb tonight. Gated reslly well, made a couple of good passes and rode some great defensive lines when in front. Could be a bargain for someone on a 2pt average next season.
  11. Congratulations to Poole, deserved winners and should win it all this year. Ben Cook has generally gone well here and superb tonight. Only the heatleader really showed up for the Bears but still some decent racing. Roll on next season!
  12. We are just down from second bend and did not see anything at all really, had us scratching our heads. Poole blew us away in those first few heats really, need the second strings to come up with something!
  13. Not entirely sure what happened there. Bears (Kerr and Jenkins aside) were shocking for first half of meeting. Lawson was an inspired guest and Roynon was absolutely superb - best I have seen him in years. Fair play to the Bears though, showed up in last three heats especially. Super comeback. Not sure it will be enough but would have snapped your hands off for the chance after heat 12
  14. Apologies I was not massively clear in my post - my remarks were more around abusing Cook but I can see it is not clear at all. Original post made it sound as if the whole stadium was booing. Sadly, you get a few idiots everywhere but i agree that should definitely not happen. Definitely added a bit of spice to a night that had pretty much everything!
  15. That is 100% categorically untrue and I was good about 10 metres away. Craig's dad stormed in and told Wright to f*ck off, which upset some Redcar fans who had a go at Craig's dad. Team Manager then stormed in effing and blinding at everyone and did receive a barrage back.from the fans. Fault from both sides in my eyes, some fans did not help the situation I admit. At absolutely no point was Cook himself subject to any abuse whatsoever, and his ambulance was applauded off the track and I will happily go to any court in the land to testify to that.
  16. Really enjoyed that. Jenkins was superb, great pass of Worrall on one heat then same again heat 15 to pass Morris, no mean feat! Edwards also superb in main body - if we can get Bickley going (who rode ok tonight) we could do ok in playoffs. Thought Howarth was excellent as always here, Morris good and Mountain seemed to improve as night went on. Worrall was disappointing.
  17. Another super meeting, not sure the scoreline quite reflects the good racing. Kerr and Riss were spectacular but big shout out to Edwards with I think paid ten in the main body. Harris was spectacular but lacking speed, Flint started well but tailed off a bit and Knudsen showed great promise. Also great to see Lyden and Kileen not too badly hurt after that crash in the second half, looked a scary one!
  18. Really enjoyable meeting, well deserved point for Oxford. Ruml was excellent and pretty much everyone had at least one good ride. Batchelor started on fire and despite not winning a race Nicholls was good value. Wright and Riss excellent for Bears and Kerr had his moments. Thought Roynon had a decent meeting, and Edwards maybe deserved more for his efforts. Need to be better in the playoffs, but went home thoroughly entertained
  19. Agree with Year by - easily best meeting here so far this year with some great racing. Was astonished when the ref gave the win to Riss - looked half a bike behind from where we stand. Also enjoyed Morris then marching to the start gate and ripping the tapes off in protest! Andersen was probably the difference tonight, and great ride in his last one from Roynon as well. Thankfully for us Jorgensen was a bit off form as could have went either way then. I'm now off to warm up!
  20. Hard to read too much into that really. No idea what BWD was doing wiping out Roynon after heat 1. Very poor. Clegg rode well for the Diamonds and was the main threat alongside Wright. Complin showed enough that he will do OK I think. Kerr was never going to be beaten if not for bike issues, and all three heat leaders looked good. Roynon did well, and impressed with the reserves - Edwards deserved more for his efforts. Cant really read too much into this I don't think - but should be a good battle for the Bears number 1 spot this year.
  21. Anyone wanting to watch this meeting can now do so on the Bears website £4.99 for a 30 day rental http://www.redcar-speedway.com/on-demand/

  23. I think that is fair - he was always on the pace and there or thereabouts but maybe a touch tentative compared to his last visit. I think Schlein has been a bit hit and miss here in the last - definitely miss tonight.
  24. Great meeting, in front of a great crowd with a great atmosphere. Thought Poole had the meeting wrapped up if I am honest, but Bears found their gating gloves when it mattered most. Thought Basso looked good, I think his heat win was the quickest time of the night? When he gets settled in should be a trump card for Poole. Schlein was poor, and thankfully for us Cook was a shadow of the rider who guested for us. Three Bears heat leaders were solid, and Rowe again good at reserve. Some very decent races in the second half as well, Kelly v Blair on a couple of occasions produced some great stuff.
