  1. Been dry now for an hour or two - think the main question now will be how well the track has taken the overnight rain. No further rain forecast last time I checked so fingers crossed. In terms of meeting itself, would be over the moon to even get close to the Tigers in all honesty.
  2. As mentioned above, weather has not been great. Rained fairly steadily from about 4pm yesterday and continued overnight. Still drizzling on and off this morning, although with no real rain forecast. Will try and keep post updated.
  3. Not sure we have a sponsors licence this season, otherwise that move would make sense. If we could squeeze someone like Porsing in (although not sure he fancies coming back to UK) would make us look an awful lot stronger, at home at least. Not sure who else is available who we could realistically get.
  4. A decent enough meeting on an understandably slick track tonight. Was a bit of dirt on the outside in the early heats, but nothing on the outside later on meant gating was at a premium. As rr said above, a spirited effort from the Bears. Jonas had his best meeting of the season and whilst not saying much Jacob also had his best meeting. Made a couple of passes and generally well on the pace. Bellego looked untouchable in his first two rides, but as the dirt left the track he struggled to make that outside line work. Worky were solid if not spectacular throughout. I thought Jensen was probably the pick for them, although 6 of the 7 recorded at least a paid win so shows how solid they are. A draw i felt would have been about right, but fair play to Workington.
  5. Light rain just started in Middlesbrough town centre. Looking at rainfall radar the band of rain does not look too bad so fingers crossed it blows through in plenty of time. Rain only light though at minute and fairly warm, could give the track a nice even watering if it stays as it is.
  6. Been dry all day so far, overcast but no rain yet. Rain is spreading Eastwards this afternoon though according to latest forecast I have seen. Will keep this updated as I can this afternoon.
  7. So Redcar will finally be hoping to run their first home League Cup meeting tomorrow against the Comets. I'm more optimistic after last weeks win, although I th ink the Comets will be a stiffer test than Plymouth. Bears should be at full strength, not sure on the Comets line up with it being a hastily re-arranged meeting. Full Comets lineup or does Sweden take priority for any? Hoping for another good, close meeting - will go for another very narrow Bears win. Will try and keep this updated with weather tomorrow as last time i checked the forecast it was expecting showers..
  8. Half decent meeting against two evenly matched sides I thought. Bellego was absolutely superb and never looked like losing. Very solid contributions from Hugh and Jonas and another great showing from Lee at reserve. For Plymouth Stefan Nielsen was excellent. Looked very smooth and quick all night, best I have seen him ride.
  9. Sunny start to the day but cold - had to scrape ice off my car this morning. Weather looks good till around 5 with rain due then according to Met Office forecast. Fingers crossed it misses us and we get the meeting on.
  10. About the expected result really. Ulrich as always went well and very impressed with Porsing and NBJ. A couple of bright spots for the Bears. Good to see Skidders hit some form, being captain for the night clearly agreed with him. And Lee Payne was excellent. Fully deserved his heat 15. Unfortunately too many riders have an off night, and with the side built the way it is we simply can't afford that.
  11. Will be no Bjerre tomorrow after his crash last night in Denmark. Guest to be confirmed. Wary of giving weather reports after last week but has been sunny so far this week. Forecast is good again for today, a but more cloud tomorrow but no rain at the moment
  12. Apologies if anybody travelled based on my posts. We have had no rain today, but as I mentioned a fair amount over the last few days.
  13. No change here, if anything has got a bit brighter so should be good to go. Agree about the track. A good natural watering seems to do the track good
  14. Will try and keep this updated with weather throughout the day - looking dry at the moment and the forecast I have seen is for it to remain largely dry but quite overcast. Have had quite a bit of rain over the last 2/3 days so hopefully has not done too much damage to the track and we will be good to go.
  15. Yes, we will be at home against Workington next Thursday now.
  16. No great surprise. Been heavy showers all day with more forecast. Agree with Yearby above - rain off favours us and especially with Jonas missing. I fear a heavy defeat was in store.
  17. On Redcar's Facebook that this meeting is still scheduled for the 14th..
  18. Not sure if that was an impressive Newcastle performance or poor Bears performance. Probably a little bit of both. Was expecting slightly better after last weeks decent showing, but back to earth with a bump! Bjerre looked excellent, but not too much else to shout about really. Lindgren and Kus looked a very strong pair for Newcastle, Pijper again had his usual strong MPA performance and Danny Phillips had a cracking first couple of rides. On that showing, could be a mauling on Sunday.
  19. Another meeting where I am not sure what to expect. Was definitely some positive signs last week, and we did look better than I anticipated. Albeit, Berwick were without there number 1 though. A bit of a patched up Diamonds side this Thursday, as Kings Lynn are at home to Belle Vue on the same night. Stuart Robson will guest for Robert Lambert and Liam Carr comes in for Lewis Rose. I think Theo Pijper will also be guesting for the injured Tero Aarnio? Bears should lineup in the same order as last week. Will go for another close meeting, Bears by 4!
  20. Not the most entertaining meeting you will ever see, but delighted to see a Bears win. Was steady drizzle from about 7:15 until around heat 4, which made the track a bit tricky I thought. For the Bandits, thoroughly impressed with young Liam Carr. Gated very well and looked comfortable out in front. Doolan was excellent too and as quick as I have seen him, and Pijper had his usual meeting at the MPA! Alden was just as i remembered, excellent if gated but not impressive otherwise. Highlight for the Bears was obviously Bellego. Quick all night, and rode some very hard first bends. Made probably the only genuine overtake of the night to pass Alden in heat 4 too. Superb signing if he can keep that standard. Bjerre came back from his injury very well, and would have been another 3 points if he had not retired in heat 1 whilst comfortably leading. Positive signs from pretty much the whole side, Bukhave would have had a win if not for panicking on the fourth lap whilst I thought Nielsen was very solid. Good nights work against what is a very decent Berwick side.
  21. I would expect the order to be: Bjerre Bukhave Skidmore Andersen Bellego Nielsen Payne Tricky to judge the score with no form to really go off. On paper, we do not have the strongest looking team but I think we will be exciting to watch - certainly liked the look of Payne at P&P. Will go for a close away win, but hopefully an entertaining meeting and no injuries.
  22. Simon Nielson at number six confirmed on Facebook. Leaves just less than 8.5 for the final rider so think we can rule proctor out
  23. As expected, Skidmore is back but David Bellego also confirmed (on Redcar facebook)
