Berwick V Leicester 18th August
Robinh88 replied to Tompy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Complin did well this season admittedly with less pressure of riding in Heat 13. While I agree Seb is on a snip of an average for next season. I think he's been very inconsistant this year -

In the programme against Ipswich John states Berwick had there lowest take of gate receipts, sorry for stating a fact big lad What do you know? well thats open to debate but there are a few Berwick fans who sit rather highly on there horses on this forum knocking anyone who has an opinion after paying to watch the match. I haven't managed to encounter this on trips to away matches which could suggest that these people hide behind stage names and don't attend away matches or even better attend any matches at all. Regarding supporting the club? Fella, it costs me nye on 80 quid per week to follow MY TEAM of course that choice is purely my own doing I'm not saying that gives me anymore of a right if for example say I lived back in Berwick. I don't know how many away matches you attend or how important Speedway is too you, maybe just an escape from work. But some people are very passionate about the Sport, why shouldn't we be? Berwick could charge 20 quid on Wednesday I'd still be there -

Thought Heat 13 was a cracking race possibly 2nd best race of the season. That aside I thought it was a poor advert for Speedway. Riders really looked to be struggling with the track, free wheeling into the bends, it wasn't enjoyable to watch can't imagine it was fun to ride either. It struck me last night what a great venue Shiefleld has been turned into. I'm really not sure. I did think crowds were excellent at the start of the season.. Managed to make last night and 4 people who last year were regulars every week, simply just were not there though for differing reasons it begs the question why are people not attending and what do people want? John seemed very down in his programme notes last night which on one hand I could completely understand however we do have a lot of options for next year not only in terms of riders but also the way we set out our team. Though I wasn't on the tour we finished very well and this new Dane as some of the lads have already spoken about, looked a good prospect. At the back end of 2010 we lost a club legend and our No1 at the tine, with only Jade being the only contracted rider at the time to return the following year. We've had some rotten luck yes but some of our failings have been self inflicted, We did fight back well in the latter heats but Leicester had done the damage by then, with Magnus Karlsson certainly not looking like the rider who usually drops between 1 and 3 points here on previous visits. What happened in the first 8 heats? what's happened all season? Klaus Jakobsson? it annoys when I hear people telling Klaus to go home with a few expletives being used but he couldn't ride Berwick when he came with former club Stoke, so why was he signed? It's a crap time for the club and on the injury front look at Newcastle injuries all throughout the season and the unfortunate passing of Ferjan. Look at Newcastle, now? have they signed Ben Barker or Daniel Nermark to do it? No, but they have put out a 7 man team who (have had injuries) but are solid throughout they can cope. We signed one 7 man team and by god had it been given the full 2010 season we would have had our first bit of silverware.. Berwick had some very good riders (by our standards) in the team this year but the league table doesn't lie and again in the domestic season we simply haven't cut it and that is probably as gooder reason as any to why we are not only bottom of the pile but also have our poorest crowds yet. What do we do about it? Well I think we have gone about it in the right way signing Nicki he looks a prospect and while he may not be a family friend of the club, he will be here next year. Micky Dyer has also done well for us and on a 3.5 average he'd be a cracking reserve. Maybe Kozza will be back in the fold for 2013? Concerned! -

I don't think our league posistion is anything to laugh about, nor will the increasing amount of empty seats be. I'll be there at 7 though Team management at its finest, better not say too much people might start asking about me -

I think Leicester will feel they can take a point here, they wont have a better chance! I'm hoping for a few passes between now and the season's conclusion just to keep me satisfied until March 2013 -

Simon says (clap your hands) Repeat Replaced by the Panthers and dropped down to Poland's 2nd tier, yeah Krystof Buczkowski is really special. I'll tell you a couple of Top class riders who don't get dropped by there parent clubs or drop divisions mind one hasn't been to Berwick before so you probably wont have heard of him. I do agree with WJM in the respect that there will be some intresting races. Yes I did manage to make it too Queensway Medows last year and had a very enjoyable evening! Thanks for the offer.... -

Who are the World Class stars, may I ask? -
I disagree if Henning Bager and J Sedgman are at reserv, Bager would be a good reserve in the PL not the EL
-
Bit suprised to see Ben win it considering it certainly was not a weak field. Not really sure why firiegn teams have not selected him, there loss. He's a grafter and I really hope he continues to get better. He's certainly got the confidence and I see him being Britain's No1 in 2 or 3 years Just my 2 pence worth Fisher will be ready by next Friday that is for sure!

I think its great Ben is doing another year in the PL. He was magnificent in both matches I saw at the SBA unbeaten in both meetings. Certainly kept the intrest up for the Plymouth fans paticularly early doors when wins were hard to come by.
