  2. Berwick fans for some reason love all out triers, Cycle Speedway was more my level (and I was crap at that).but if Ian offered me a team place on Thursday night I know the Berwick support would back me to the end on the premises that I gave my all. Expect statements like, *get off his back, okay he didn't score but hes a really nice guy and is gonna try and get the right set up for his next meeting, give him time) Hence why we never win nowt and riders dont take us seriously
  3. What about Brenton Barnfield, could we sign him
  4. Was spannering for Sitera mid season, looking very healthy indeed, apparently makes kevlars in Czech
  5. What about Berwick's favourite Czech .... Richard Wolff sorry I mean Josef Franc? popular with the fans snd on a attractive average On a serious note Matt T would be a great signing, His brother was canny here too
  6. Hmmm I think we'll go with 1. Ashworth 2. Albin 3.Wethers/Aspegren 4.Bellego 5. Smith 6. Edberg 7. Barrett
  7. Mike is a true Speedway leg-end, best promoter in British Speedway
  8. Suprised to hear about Seb, very classy rider great to watch to when its going great. Ricky does it for me as a No1 and if we sign Kozza thant would be good, he may not be a No1 but he gives his all in every race and he wont going off scoring big points in other countries then performing to an average standard when needed in the UK. Berwick have so many options and avenues its untrue. Seb was on a good average it will be intresting to see how Kozza does in 2013 hopfully in the B&G
  9. True but I do rate Tully around Berwick he's really come on, do you not agree Wjm?
  10. Andrew Tully would be a contributing member to a winning 7 man team, He's been in two league winning teams I think he'd have been a good asset to our club. Irrespective of what I rant about, Andrew Tully would have been a solid signing, its as simple as that Cheers
  11. Smith probably would have been a better option, but Tully just a good reserve around Berwick? Let me guess you stand on the 3rd bend too?
  12. Lots of options for Berwick it would seem. Would like to see us sign Andrew Tully, okay hes probably not going to win Heat 13 +15 but I could see him going for the Track Record next season he's bloody quick around Berwick when he hits the front. Wethers and Sneedon would be two solid middle order riders also, lots to ponder
  13. decent side i think, injuries and the actions take often make big differences, the right move at the right time and Rye I reckon have a winning formula. Olly Allen will do well at this level
  14. The same could be said for the 2008 season, admittedly with a lesser well rounded 7, that said we had Adrian averaging not far off 10 I think all clubs are struggling, the Sport in the UK is dying a slow death. It's the best Sport in the world (in my opinion) on its day, it sad to see things the way they are
  15. Iwould put my neck on the line and say that Lee Seb and Ricy would cost more than Adrian, Michal and tero Berwick's highest averages for the tart of the 08 season. I could well be wrong if so I apolagise deeply to you Mr F
  16. Please read my post again, I'm sure your an intelligent bloke
  17. As a buisnessman or a salesman you are trying to get the customers money, whether you believe in it or not. Its what happens on the track that matters to the fans, One wonders if we had of kept or stunning form all throughout the season, would we be having these debates now. Because as I said in a earlier post everything was rosey back in March/April time? Have our crowds been that bad, Peter Waite didn't have as expensive riders as Complin, Alden and Ashworth then we had a PR statement saying we are one of the big boys with one of the biggest budgets in the PL. Bold statement you'd expect an improvement on track or at least consistancy as to what our is open to view for the fans, or are we still a small club and cut our cloth accordingly
  18. No, it was all just brown stuff, the stuff thats usually on your grid Cheers
  19. Poor lad Scott for having an opinion, shame on the lad Sorry Scotty, I'll do whatever you say, If I can have a prawn sandwhich.....
  20. Two problems Berwick have, the team and the track Berwick now have a great set up probably as gooder set up as anywhere. For any neutral who comes to Shielfield looking for a methanol fix, Berwick is a good first location I'd say. It's also about keeping your weekly customers content, content enough so that they are excited to come back because if they dont what will they miss? Not a lot on track sadly. I had a look back to the 2008 season where we finished 5th/6th place with a team of Rymel, Makovsky, Magosi, Franchetti, Aarnio, Clews and Scud. All 7 riders were capable scorers at least at home. But seriously, there is nothing outstanding about that team yet they still had a decent domestic season. We've got the riders there to really suceed, which is where it matters. The track okay its not the best in the world but its liable to at least one pulsationg meeting per year. There's also the two big meetings which will show Berwick in a great light. Much to be positive about we've got to start maximising what we have. People in this day and age don't want to hear about survival they want to back something that is thriving. Now at the start of the season when we were beating piss-poor outfits like Glasgow and Edinburgh everything was all rosey and the birds were singing. Crowds went down because the team and the racing was not up to scratch. If we can sort those two things out next year we could have a much better season with healthier crowds. Cheers
