  1. Well I'm glad you go to the Speedway for a good chat and a laugh... We've had underperforming riders and seasons for the last 5? but I don't assume your a regular attender of Berwick meetings, but hey as long as you and your chums have a good night, its a happy camp Check your stats and tell me your findings Cheers
  2. Two thoughts Maybe Berwick are happy with there riders scoring less points, after all it means less money tracking a solid 7 capable of scoring 50pts per home match minimum and 45 for away matches. Interesting to note our average points both home and away for 2013 If they find these performances unacceptable 1) why are the riders still here, 2) never anything in the media not that I am saying its good to put your dirty linen in public, but it would be nice too here along with all the compliments (some deserved), "that performance wass unacceptable, or our results over the season, and we will re-double our efforts for next season, to bring YOU the fans a team who can challenge and entertain."
  3. To be honest on what I have whitnessed I'd like to see Jade Mudgway back in the side. He's no Kozza Smith but he gives his all in every race and against any competitor, thats what we have missed this year...
  4. What was ment to be a open thread with a opportunity for decent debate and discussion ends up as per being ruined by the (ISM) AKA Internet Speedway Mongs. Seb Alden and Facu Albin yeah we'd have charged up the table with those two super troopers in our ranks. Seriously what planet do some folk live on, Stan Burza scoring points at No1, he's be a okay Second String as he proved in his last stint with his 6 point average. Same again 2014
  5. Kozza has had a good season, whatever happens to his current club. I can imagine Mr Smith will not be short of offers for his services.
  6. Dyer is a class act, end of story... it makes it harder too swallow the fact he went to Redcar, who beat us twice in a season
  7. crowds have been fairly consistant this year I would say. mathamatics is not my strong point but I'd say we have had better numbers this campaign, maybe wrong?
  8. We did achieve good league finishes under Mr Waite then again. If I was in charge and signed some Phillipino riders on the cheap your the type of bloke that would come on here and support me, even though I might be a complete lettuce. Then again Scott I know as you told me you get a kick out of winding ppl up and talking rubbishe
  9. As I sit off the coast of Algeria pondering the happenings off the world and of the much beloved Berwick Bandits. Haven't been able to attend any Berwick meetings in the last fortnight, so my last meeting was watching Kacper Gomolski get his wheels in line vs Vaclav Milik and power home to victory. No disputing, it was a great night. Infact it was the best meeting I've seen live enjoyed it so much... great stuff However, Sadly U21 meetings don't come around every week at Fortress Shielfield but every summer we raise our expectations about what our team might be able to do (within reason - of course) a few silly suggestions but hey. It's very fustrating when Berwick now in Speedway terms have a top class venue so many good things that would really flourish with a good team riding in it. No necceserily a team of expensive riders. We were pretty decent under the previous regime paying bobbins. We've had some very good riders don our proud colours, Rymel, Rempala, Gjedde, Alden and Ashworth. Despite all the excellent things we've done off track (no disputing that) its just not happening where it matters on track and it hasn't since 2008. Why are we not performing? So many excuses about other tracks, weather, others riders, refs, our own riders goofing around, injuries. Thanks to GRT Media who put up the interviews with usually with the suited and booted members of the board. Now if our riders are busting there balls to ride for Berwick Speedway and we know who those guys are and have been, that's why we love Speedway or if we were signing sub standard riders. But we haven't we have signed good riders who have all shown what they can do. But come to Berwick and our riders generally speaking lose form as opposed too gaining, why is this? If the guys are winging it, as Mr Anderson said in his interview certain riders had gone through the motions at Berwick or words to that effect. That was something he strongly felt WOULD NOT happen this year. Totally agreed with the statement. This year has been the poorest of the 5. Admittedly the racing did pick up mid season with 4 or 5 meetings in quick sucession which I enjoyed throughly. We were devoid of spirit right from the off, minimal changes as per, Eddie Kennet might not be a big track man as Emilali stated but he was a poor advertisement of a now Ex EL no 1. Why in the hell are Aspegren and Barett still with the club? horrendous all season. Those two blokes at other clubs would have been gone with 8 weeks, but then again we've had this discussion note 2009. We also have a knack of just not turning up at big pressure meetings as 7 man septet. Why is this? In all the good things Berwick have achieved in more recent times. We were once at the very least a hard team to beat home, nothing special away from home, nor did we have the best riders. That's something you just deal with at Berwick. This season we've been beaten 6 times at home now in 2013? won away at Glasgow, of course every team have bad seasons. I'm unsure as to what Berwick's future is, on current form take out the U21 meeting which was unbelieveable Berwick Speedway has lost the buzz about it. The excitement of waking up on a Saturday and looking forward to seeing what happens trackside has dissapeared. Kozza Smith has had a very good season been very exciting he was given his all and more, so it can be done. British Speedway is all about the 7 riders you use, until we pick the right guys for the job based on ability and commitment coupled with a man who can motivate and lead a team, we are currently about as good as what Stoke were pre 2011 going NL, will we do the same? or wrap and just not bother next year?
  10. Results dont lie we clearly are not a good team... good sides on paper aint rubbishe for 5 seasons
  11. I would assume if Berwick can retain the TTT Trophy hopefully an open top bus parade will organised, giving the fans the opportunity to see there heroes pictured with some real silverware for the 2013 campaign. Expert's view - Berwick 40-50 Newcastle
  12. Away win here, Newcastle's achievements are what we should aspire too at Berwick
  13. I would say your a moron if you think Patryk Dudek would give up Falabuz for the Diamonds
  14. I would like to see Kozza Smith back, aside from the high fives he's actually done a good job for the Bandits in a tough posistion. Kozza would be the perfect No3 or No5. Bellego if signed, should be used at 2 his scores are consistant to his average usually at worst. He can only get better.. Paul Starke would be a very handy 2nd reserve Alden, Aspegren, and Barrett I wouldnt be in a rush to sign any of them Wethers - He's not our rider and as Emilali states he isn't our rider nor is he getting younger Aspegren - Talented bloke, very stylish on his day very hitty missy, to be a success as a Bandit unless you can find speed like Complin you need to gate consistantly.. Robin leaves himself a lot to do Barrett - Dissapointing Strength in Depth 1.Kozza Smith 2.David Bellego 3.Matt Wethers 4.Ulrich Ostergaard 5.Micky Dyer 6.Henning Bager 7.Paul Starke Top Heavy 1. Patrick Hougaard/Ryan Fisher 2. David Bellego 3. Kozza Smith 4. Matt Wethers 5. Micky Dyer/Kauko Neimenen 6. Paul Starke 7. Joe Jacobs
  15. Sounds or reads like the team are making a real fist of it... odd that its a track we really stuggle but credit where its due... 2014? if we are to run, we need big changes maybe even a complete makeover
  16. We all know Seb is a star in the making, once he finds that set up... Good win for the Comets seems to be coming together one wonders how much you could have been with young Mason in at reserve As much as it pains me to see Newcastle at the top of the table, English and and Co deserve the success they get. They know the rulebook inside out, how to get best out of the older riders, bring on the young lads while bringing foriegners in with devastating effect. Poor result for Newcastle by there high standards but rest assured it will be put right in the very near future. Rosen looks a gem
  17. rip tony, like a knife through butter with every turn of the wheel
  18. good luck Joe, classy rider fell away in his latter years of EL racing Did well for Glasgow in 2011 and 2012... He will be a tough man to replace
  19. No thread? Two wins on successive nights I make that for the Scorpians now without David Howe. Certainly positives to take away for next season with Birks, Jorgenson Klindt and Douglas who I think will score good points As for Plymouth well injuries really have depleted the Devils. Stichauer and Toft were strange signings for me. Gathercole and Proctor are big misses. THat being said I think Rasmus Jensen will be a good solid middle order man. Be interesting if Bech stays next year if so along with Proctor, Lemon, Gathercole and Jensen Plymouth could be right up there Please excuse the wrong date I apolagise....
  20. To be fair to Alex he did really well at Leicester maybe a new challenge did him the world of good. Hadn't he had the big smash he probably would be a solid 6 pointer for the Bandits at the moment.
  21. I wouldnt re-sign Alex Edberg, nothing against the guy
  22. seemed to be running fine for the hammarby meeting last week when he had two wins. But hey lets not get in the way of those facts. Jan Graveson holds the Leicester track record? But Jan is a top rider? Unless there is a new TR holder The last time I checked a programme Seb Alden's average was 7... so that's based over 20-30 meetings? right? Cheers
  23. Home win i reckon Good to know Seb has been for 2 seasons, but can't find and engine set up. This was the was the same rider that 10 years ago was going to be a Top Swedish rider Well the above tells you why he's a 7 point Premier League rider
