Berwick V Sheffield - August 15th
Robinh88 replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Cook kicking off is of no surprise, it has overshadowed a woeful performance from David Bellego I'm perplexed as to how Nic Klindt still gets a team place in the UK Sheffield would have struggled to get 38 had the Bandits been at full strength -

he wasn't good enough to be number one of a pl team... easier at reserve I'd propose scoring points from reserve in a league winning side very possibly Doing well at the moment though -

Sheffield should win... -
been pretty average most of the most of the season, had a couple of good meetings the challenge match vs Poland Wroclaw (a) and piratarna(h) until now!! Reckon he could be a good bet for Kumla next sec round, he's had some good races round there

Thornblom scored 5 points on Thursday and 1 point last night in the Swedish final, but I couldn't be arsed to investigate further... Congratulations to Grigorij Laguta today winning the Polish version of the ELRC What a exciting meeting it was, if you are suffering withdrawl symptoms over the lack of a pulsating meeting this weekend I would recommend a watch.... I know its hard to believe there is more to Speedway than Berwick

Rye House V Newcastle... 1st August 7pm
Robinh88 replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Newcastle generally get more right than wrong... I did fancy the Diamonds pre season to make top 6 but I feel too much inconsistency and Steve Worrall though he has improved isn't a number one at this point... -
fair play to Plymouth turned it round it would seem some good results at the right time coupled with the momentum Plymouth fans deserve it, whatever the future may hold

Nicolai Klindt Joins Sheffield!

I think his attitude stinks personally, goes on likes hes world champion couldn't even get in the plrc -
Rather ironic I read in another one of these informative PR's a few years back - Berwick had one of the biggest budgets in the league I presume then we overspent on riders like Alden Complin etc or was that more horse rubbish from the club?

Totally agree on the EL fast track system, certainly watered down the el even more I don't think there is a way to save the Sport here, fans have been shat on for years but as long as the Monarchs and Poole are winning its all good.... The riders aren't entirely blame less, an increasing amount who don't attend meetings when it suits scoring maximums in other countries and then scoring 3 in the UK. Or some who sign ride a meeting then don't come back. Crowds are down everywhere, Tai Woffinden doesn't race here our flagship marketing asset... That being said I still think Britain is a great place to learn your trade, but the modern day rider has changed... times have changed maybe the fans have too As for Berwick? Not good enough over the 7 years. We have had a few bright sparks, Stormy, Clews and Ashworth who took it to the next level. We had to say our goodbyes to legends Rymel and Makovsky. Crowd levels and results don't lie, there is still a market for Speedway in Berwick. But after the falling out with the Supporters club pre season morale among even "die-hards" was rotten. I hope Berwick come to tapes under a new promotion next year. However a change in promotion would be for the best whatever level we may drop too.
