  1. Sadly, no news about Reading - the Smallmead site remains barren and used for a car park on Football match days Great to see Oxford back up and running, can only hope the same for Coventry one day. Very much looking forward to Wimborne Rd tomorrow night
  2. Heading down for this - looking forward to my first visit to Wimborne Road for several years
  3. Horrendous news, Nigel's passion for speedway shone through every time he appeared on the TV, radio or online. The sheer volume of sadness from his broadcast colleagues on social media shows as well as speedway riders and dart pros just how well he was liked and respected. I didn't know him as well as many on here, but we spoke lots of times when I did the clubcall line for Reading for him and we had plenty of banter over the years on twitter. I know how much Nigel was loved by his close colleagues in the speedway media and have spoken to a couple of them over the past 24 hours, they are totally devastated. What an awful loss to the commentary world but the loss of a Father, Husband and dear friends to his loved ones is where our thoughts must be at this very sad time. Sleep well Scoop, you were a legend, who won't be forgotten.
  4. I think Birmingham fans will be happy with the news coming out of the club over the coming days. There has been a lot of work put in by the new shareholders over the past few weeks and things on and off track are looking promising.
  5. Superb news that Speedway is returning to the Thames Valley. Although i've given him and others a bit of friendly stick over the years as a Reading Racers fan, all credit to the likes of Rob Peasley for never giving up the fight. I truly wish Oxford the very best and look forward to a return visit to a stadium that hold lots of memories for Racers fans.
  6. Age old story in British Speedway, couple of teams paying silly points money and others follow suit without sustainable revenue to match. Hopefully Eastbourne can find a short term fix, but like Newcastle & Birmingham longer term prospects sound bleak!
  7. talking of guess the attendance - I see on press release it says crowds only 1/3 of figure in 2019, I attended the Glasgow match and around 400 maybe a few more in, so were Brum getting 1200 in 2019?
  8. Pleased to report to that Ulrich was discharged from hospital in Edinburgh this afternoon, he is now flying back to his family in Denmark (via Glasgow & Stanstead) to start his recovery. I know he’s been blown away by the concern the shown by the supporters of Glasgow & Peterborough and the fans in general.

  10. Just had a watch - interesting camera work and commentary!
  11. So was Lawson's move on Ostergaard just good hard racing or was it a bit naughty?
  12. Well done to Panthers, very pleased for Big Ulle riding with a nasty arm injury sustained at Scunny yesterday - man of steel that lad!
  13. I thought the coverage last night was great! The Pearson and Tatum combination works well for me, good banter and so what if there is the odd mistake! Scott Nicholls is so at ease and professional at his job, whilst Abi is no Natalie Quirk give her a bit of time to settle into the role. Good to see the housewives favourite David Rowe updating from Kings Lynn as well. Overall, a very encouraging start to Eurosport's coverage - I hope they got decent viewing figures.
  14. Sad to read that former Reading promoter Mark Legg has died. Mark funded the purchase of the promoting rights at Reading from BSI during the 2007 season and was at the helm for the club’s final season in 2008. I enjoyed being part of his team during his tenure at Smallmead and always got on well with him, my condolences to his family and friends.
  15. Yep, Andrew S on the case - just letting Frigbo know that others are in the same boat.
  16. yep, me too - 4 out of 4 no sign of mine again this week! Out of interest, any idea who looks after Speedway Star's Twitter account?
  17. Maybe mate. But me answering the door in my dressing gown is worth the trek down the drive :-)
  18. Sadly another no show for my copy. 3 out of 3 now, I’ve dropped an email over. Shame that News Team are failing what sounds like a very small % of subscribers. Frustrating though when you’re in that small %.
  19. Andrew S has now emailed thanks Phil. Hopefully this week’s edition will show up at some point. appreciate you’re doing your best to keep things going!
  20. Phil, I didn’t receive my copy last week and nothing as yet today. I emailed Subs@pinegen & tweeted twice but no response which is disappointing I fully understand that delivery process changes can lead to problems, but a lack of response to messages isn’t great. My subscription is out of loyalty rather than need, so I do expect a bit of better customer service to be honest! Paul
  21. If there is a 99 year lease signed in 1996, there is a more than a glimmer of hope then, if someone was to acquire Poole Stadium Limited for example!
  22. Any have any idea how long the lease was that was signed by Poole Stadium Limited (BS Group/Gaming Intl) with the freeholders in late 1995?
  23. Apologies if this has already been asked/covered elsewhere on this topic Is Poole Speedway's lease direct with the stadium owner (BCP?) or do they sub-lease from our friends at Gaming International?
