  1. Thanks for the update on TJ. How did the other Bandits do? No Banditmail this week, and the Facebook page not actuve, it's almost as if the promotion has shut things down already. Tragic
  2. According to Mr Anderson last year we had to declare intention in October - no option
  3. I bow to your superior knowledge, I was with two of them last week and had them down as Speedway folk, not Rangers supporters.
  4. Entirely wrong, One sponsors Berwick Rangers, one is involved in Junior Football, and the third is a mystery
  5. Financially it would make sense for Berwick Rangers to take over the speedway - If it is a case of having to do it to keep the rent coming in. But, like the Bandits there seems to be a dwindling band of folk with the time or commitment to help the Football club, the Speedway is probably too much effort to keep going.
  6. The last accounts filed were for the 2014 Season, so it is arguable that they do not give a fair reflection of the current situation of the business. Assets could be interesting too. "Due diligance" is the phrase i believe, or "buyer beware".
  7. Looking through last years Newsletters, the annual appeal was launched on August 12, and the go ahead announced on October 8. Hope that the cry hasn't gone out too late this season. When do the BSPA meet?
  8. it could be a bit brighter a weekend than the doom'n'gloom merchants are chanting about. The future just might be a bright black and gold after all..... Edited by crescent girl, 31 August 2016 - 11:20 AM. Finger on the pulse there
  9. Yes, but they can spend 2017 counting their Bond Money and thinking of a new use for the Fence.
  10. no, but it will be another year of counting the bawbees, and we'll have this conversation next August
  11. You can't go around saying things like that, who do you think you are? Peter White?
  12. Will somebody now start a Bandits 2018 thread? Or will we hear a cry for money first?
  13. So we agree that we need change n- but let's not change anything?
  14. From former Associate Director Michael Mullan - Worrying We are grateful to Keith and his contacts for giving us the opportunity to put our side forward regarding our resignation from Berwick Bandits Speedway Club. A year ago, the public were told that the club faced a "Makeover or Takeover" situation. After several years of losses, we were told that was it - John Anderson needed help, or the club folded. Following the announced closure of Jus-Rol, we got together to help sustain one of Berwicks few remaining assets; The Bandits. With a couple of other backers, we genuinely believed that we could make a difference. A well balanced team was assembled, Season Tickets sales were promising, and we entered wholeheartedly into securing unprecedented financial support for the club. Crowds have increased, and Hospitality and Track Shop are busier than ever, we are told. However, as Business owners in the local area, we have earned reputations for integrity and honesty; a Handshake is a deal done, a nod, payment assured. We found ourselves latterly in the position where this integrity was compromised, and for the future of our businesses, and more importantly, our families, we can no longer be associated with Berwick Speedway in its' current form. The club. like the town, is unique; We have been overwhelmed by the degree of support for Berwick Bandits. So many help behind the scenes, often unseen and unappreciated. The support for the club in the wider community is phenomenal, although many choose not to support the current owners. We will always be Bandits fans, but we refuse to have our integrity compromised by association. THAT is why we resigned. We would happily consider helping the club under another consortium. 15. One downside at Shielfield is that even when there is a Thousand folk in, there is still a lot of space. And which will you do? Bandits diehard, or warrior?
  16. Well. i'll be having my Senior Butler watch it and report accordingly, while my Wine Waiter advises me on the current state of the soccer game
  17. Yes Barker was poor, and a shadow of the rider who came to Berwick not so long ago and got 15 points, but i t looked to be purely mechanical. You could see the technique was there, I would guess the hunger is definitely there, but the power wasn't, and unfortunately it's a chicken and egg situation.
  18. As good a meeting as anybody would wish to see - A win for the Bandits, a point for the Bears, cracking debut from Romano, and an acknowledgement of our respect for Seb
  19. Question for the wider world - not specifically Screm: Would you use an online shop to buy Bandits Merchandise? Along the lines of a Click and Collect Service?
  20. We win at Armadale, and still there are unhappy people?
