  1. This was never going to be a foregone conclusion, full marks to Redcar for pushing all the way. Prior to Dicksons arrival, Bandits heads would have been down and we would have lost tonight.
  2. Would need a longer barge stick than yours. But if price is right promotion may think otherwise. Bastian to us, and Etheridge to you? Don’t shoot the messenger!
  3. We’ll build a team that is sustainable. (cheap). Run within a budget, but look at Newcastle.
  4. For the sake of his career developing, surely Leon has to get experience at another track next season.
  5. Is this the last season of “results not going out way?” Last year with Bomber was good, but proved that one man can’t carry a team. A team built to a budget may keep the promotion going but isn’t taking the club anywhere. It’s sad that Newcastle and other closed clubs are being held up as comparison, and almost threatening. No posters in shops, no interviews on Radio Borders, no mention on TV, - are the Promoters promoting, or as was talked about on Saturday, is Jamie going to call it a day at Berwick.
  6. Yes, but we have run within a budget. And how jealous of us are Newcastle fans? We might be getting beaten home and away, but at least we have a team. Better to have a team and lose regularly, than not have a team at all. And our Car Park is Free.
  7. Matty Wethers, but more recently than nineties.
  8. Stars of Tomorrow and International to keep the interest going? Bordernapolis, Carl Friar Memorial Trophy.
  9. A well deserved retirement, a great servant to many Northern clubs.
  10. A chance to say goodbye to old friends, and maybe help the poor lad reduce his losses. I can’t help but think that this situation is going to repeat at several more tracks.
  11. Scottish by birth Dick, but raised 3 doors away from the famous Grove Hotel in Tweedmouth, oft visited watering hole for Bandits riders, and fans in the 60s and 70s.
  12. What would it cost cost for a pass? if say 1000 attend a meeting, maybe half of those have access to a streaming service. So whereas 1000 at £15 equals £15000, would 500 people pay £30 to produce the same revenue? Also loss of profit from Programmes, Bars, Catering. I think the Tigers have called correctly.
  13. 250 is based on all Season Ticket holders being there, and includes pensioners paying a lower rate, and like the speedway “helpers who get in for nothing”
  14. Work to start on the streamlined pitch this week, so hope the weather is kind. There is a realisation in the Football camp that they need the Speedway to survive for both sports to survive. Pleasingly Courtney junior has the sense to see this too, shame the butcher didn’t.
  15. Delighted to see the Speedway liking Brian Porteous returning as new Berwick Rangers Chairman.
  16. Great to see so much publicity for our beloved sport in the local press and social media over the close season. Little wonder that there is so much enthusiasm for the coming term.
  17. Great, no need to leave the house in a Saturday night now. Can get updates without having to leave the warmth, and save £15 in to the bargain
  18. Revisiting the watch mans previous comments, I wonder how many Comets fans would now be happier to have the option to pay £20 for an evenings racing?
  19. Would certainly be good to see our Promoter from the affluent south ploughing in some of the proceeds from his other successful motorsport business, to help keep our beloved sport alive. Reassuring news Crescent Girl
  20. 1968, Season finished in August, but hadn't started till May - We've really came a long way when we are turning out in the cold, dark nights at the start of the season, then sitting at home in the warmth of August. For a forward looking promotion, with a commitment to youth, I can't understand why we now have no Stars of Tomorrow meeting.
