Cardiff Sound System
T.N.T. replied to nelson76's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Above the pits entrance, top tier. For me the balance wasn't right, Bass too high and volume too far up as it sounded like sound was coming from only a few speakers so the volume had to be raised. It was distorted quite a bit. Dont think Chris did as well as last year when he really had a great night, but you cant get it right everytime. Still think Paul Hardcastle could have been rung out a bit and I'm suprised he never had Eye of the Tiger or Two Tribes lined up in case of any arguments. I couldnt see why normal music was played right upto the green light coming on. Maybe some intro should have been used like Yello "The Race" which did get played in one of the early heats. Also no Metro Station -
I have heard that refs are told that all 4 back should not be used unless its a mix up concerning more than one rider falling. Heat 1 and Emil lifts and goes in front of Rune Holta who laid his bike down brilliantly. For me, Emil was lucky not to have been excluded for that as Rune took the safest move in a split second and safety should come first. Heat 5 and the Scott ~ Emil incident. Emils front wheel did get caught by Scott as they entered turn three, but not by much and this was just a good hard but fair ride by Emil who should have really accepted it as a hard race he for once lost out on. What followed appears to have esculated due to Scott telling him where to go and this got tempers going. After a few pushes, Scott kept leaning on Emil which led to them both hitting the air fence. Scott could have driven off, made a gesture and laughed it off, but he admitted his temper is quite short at the moment due to the flack he is getting and the season he is having. Heat 17 and Crumpy makes a mistake by going too wide. He tries to lock up to stop drifting but AJ is riding a steady line and only the actions of Crump locking up caused the accident. The ref looked at it that AJ collided with Crump and should be excluded but didn't take into account the line taken by Crump. Semi-Final 2, 1st attempt and Andersen gets a slight knock which slows him down. As in the heat 17 incident, Harris is riding a steady line and they have a slight collision and Hans goes down. As the ref had decided in heat 17, the fault lies with the rider that made the contact and not the line of the other rider who in my opinion decided to make the most of the situation and hope for a rerun. Semi-Final 2, 2nd attempt and this time the rider that falls gets excluded. Is this an inconsistant call by the ref ? The other two incidents were where riders that were behind collided with a rider that was in front of them. To me, Nicki was trailing, attempted to try and clamp down Andersen but in doing so he was hit by Hans and went down. Remember this is a race where you have to finish in the top two or your night is over. Had this been heat 3 say, I think Nicki would have held on, kept control and made sure of the third place. This time the ref decided Nicki looked for the rerun and went for an inside line on the track that was not available. Overall, the meeting was very good. Plenty of close racing, no real ruts appearing and with one race left each, only two riders were out of the running for a semi-final place. Didn't think the atmosphere was as good this year as the last two, but its still pretty special and long may it continue. Lets now hope JC has a nightmare round next time and the pack can close the gap on him as he looks in a different league at present. PS; Have to say the white start girl was the best I have seen at any GP for sometime ~ no wonder that gate worked well http://speedwaygp.com/img/photos/2009_06/c..._340f220top.jpg

Should the actions of Scott Nicholls and Emil Sayfutdinov have been punished straight away ? I like both riders and yeas, things happen in the heat of the moment, but there was hardly any contact during the race and obviously what they said to each other esculated to what followed. No doubt they will both be fined, but as this is a major sporting event, broadcast to millions, should speedway have acted straight away. For me, a full scale punch up on the track is a red card offence and both riders wouldn't have a case to answer if they were ejected from the meeting and their remaining rides taken by Tai Woffinden and Simon Stead. Had the arguments started in the pits, then fair enough, its not in the public eye but on the track is wrong

Just got back and will watch the replays tomorrow. I am a big Emil Sayfutdinov fan and in league racing I like Scott Nicholls, so to see them both get involved in an on track fight wasnt great to see. Now many will think I'm going to back up Emil here, but your wrong. I will watch the replay tomorrow but for me Scott rode a good hard race and Emils brave moves just didn't pay off. Maybe we will never know what was said as they rolled back to the pits, but we do know Scott appologised for his short temper. Maybe Scott had told Emil to go forth and he took exception to it, but my initial reaction is Emil should have just put it down to a hard race that he lost out on. Overall, a preety good meeting, some good tight tussles and Fredrik Lindgren having a good GP and a deserved rostrum place for the leagues number one rider. No one was going to get close to Crumpy tonight and well done to him, but now it looks like everyone else is chasing the #2 race jacket for 2010.

CJ is a friend of mine that MIGHT be coming in, but he has his wife and parents with him and if they get him shopping, he may have to miss it, but I'm sure we can get SCB, SebtheSnail or another BSF member to join in. Didnt have a great night in Leek as I lost my two frames by stupid mistakes, one after clearing all the balls and snookering myself on the black ! ~ Hope my form returns tomorrow -

Nice ..... My mate will also be in Cardiff and plays Super League, so CJ will step in if required ~ Sorry, Gareth Potts couldn't make it ! If you look straight on at the PoW so the stadium is on the left, the Vaults is about 400 yards down there opposite the pits entrance and main gates So old rules, roll up and snooker, 2 shots carry, black in any bag (not nominating) -

Two shots carry - Yes White anywhere behind the line Do you play a ball must reach a cushion or be potted on each shot ? (or can you roll up to a ball) If you dont know World Rules, we better not bother with them as you can deliberatly foul, can't pot a free ball and you must play from where the white lands even after a foul unless you are foul snookered. -

So where will this be and what time ? I will be travelling down in the morning as I will be playing a Inter County pool match in Leek on friday night and will be up for a challenge and maybe make this an annual event .... The BSF Pool Open Trust we will be playing World Rules ! -
Crump J 7/4 Sajfutdinov E 5/1 Pedersen N 5/1 Hancock G 6/1 Adams L 12/1 Gollob T 12/1 Andersen H 12/1 Jonsson A 12/1 Lindgren F 20/1 Harris C 33/1 Bjerre K 33/1 Nicholls S 50/1 Holta R 66/1 Kennett E 80/1 Ulamek S 150/1 Walasek G 200/1 Quite frankly I'm suprised to see Walasek at 200/1 and Ulamek at 150/1 considering the odds they have given Bomber and Nicholls. Trouble is, quite a few Brits will put the odd pound coin on them and if they offered the odds that should really be there, they would be gambling on too much to pay out so they shorten the odds. Will have a bet on the day each way for Freddie and Walasek and maybe Bjerre as his gating may help him here. However for the prices, I think AJ and Hans are value at 12's

Getting home from a pool match around 1am, then setting off around 6.30am from Staffordshire so we can get there around 9 - 9.30ish. Hope to meet a few new faces at the PoW during the day, will probably be wearing a TNT baseball cap and if I can get it done in time, a Lindgren/Sayfutdinov T Shirt EDIT; Only 2 in my car, so anyone stuck for a lift and can put some towards petrol, pm me

Piotr Pynszny ? - Rode for Halifax and crashed at Wolves, knocking half the floodlights out and the meeting had to be called off. Marek Cieslak was a favourite and liked Plech and Jancarz but the classic Pole during the 70's was Jerzy Kowalski who arrived at Wolves as a promising young talent. He turned out to be about 40, wore a terrible wig and found it hard to do four laps without falling. He didn't last too long, but at Wolves he will always be rememered.

Well I have won my latest bid, two tickets for £52 and hope to pick them up in person tomorrow or Monday. Its saved me a few quid, but only a drink or two.
-
Isn't ebay annoying. I had the main bid for 2 tickets for over 24 hours and with 15 seconds to go I get outbid ! Will keep on trying, if not will get them on the day as usual.

Sorry ....... Forgot to add No Coventry Fans !!

So far Fredrik Lindgren had a brilliant opening GP which was won by Emil, then had a dire Leszno GP. he then looked fast at Gothenburg before a fall cost him a place in the final where Emil won. Then last round, Freddie just couldn't get going and finished 16th. Going on this alone, maybe my hope of Freddie and Emil both being in the mix in the final could come true and in a perfect world, they would be joined in the final by Hans and AJ.

Cardiff The Greatest Show Earth
T.N.T. replied to willstaxi's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What makes a good Cardiff for me ? In the town where I live, the place where I work and my friends, none are speedway fans. So going to a City where there are thousands of people that share the same interest as me is brilliant. Add to that the atmosphere, seeing kids with their faces painted, the loud Poles and the eye candy in Cardiff and its a great day out. When you get inside and the riders start to appear and the music cuts in, then it really gives you shivers and this year for a change, we Wolves fans actually have one of our own riders in the line up and a possible winner in Fredrik Lindgren. (we dont count Nicki as ours) So this year, I will be hoping to bump into a few of the names I have yet to meet as I will be in the PoW around lunch time with my wife who is also a non speedway fan. I just want her to experience the atmosphere of such a big sporting occasion and the reason why I love the sport so much. So keep your eyes open for a larger than life, thug looking character wearing a TNT cap and if all goes to plan, a T Shirt I hope to be wearing that will show my loyalties on the day. One half will be in support of Wolves #1, Fredrik Lindgren and the other half for the amazing, Emil Sayfutdinov 7 days left now ...... cant wait -
