  2. I would much rather see the likes of Darcy Ward who is in form riding in the Italian, Czech GP's .... Poland, Denmark and Sweden etc have good riders to fill the Wild Card spaces.

  4. No ..... you just dont get the bonus points ! Hopefully I will get the scores updated for Sunday morning ....so check in to see who is crowned Champion. In this round, you can lose some serious points ... but also make some big points. .... One person could lose 30 points and another score 50 .... thats an 80 point swing .... So its all to play for !! Pleasure running it .... may even run a Speedway predictor next season with League matches, KO Cups, WTC and Individuals .... Will work it out in the close season
  5. Darcy aint going to retain his title by the looks of it Heat 11, Janowski bts MJJ and Ward ..... now leads Andersson by 2 and Ward by 5
  6. Would be a great meeting to watch with some real talent on show Zmarzlik cuases Piotr P to fall in heat 2 ..... the lads good but wild
  7. FINAL ROUND - ALL TO PLAY FOR So here we are, Greg Hancock has already been confirmed as World Champion and it looks like Jarek Hampel and Andreas Jonsson will be fighting for the medals with a place on the podium with GRIN As we enter this final hurdle, Stiltonpanther on 148pts leads noggin (136) by 12 points while just behind refereerick (126), home straight (125), Impartial One (120) and smiles (118) are looking for a podium finish ...... HOWEVER !! The final round is VERY VERY different and anyone can pick up BIG points or LOSE points !! In previous rounds I predicted a score for each rider and you tried to select the rider that would do better than I predicted ...... this will be the same ..... but This time YOU also have to predict the scores for FOUR other riders !! You also have to predict which FOUR riders will be in the Grand Final If you predict Greg Hancock will score 12 points in Gorzow but actually scores just 7 ..... you lose 5 points .. if he scores 15 then you lose 3 points .... if however he does score 12 points, you score FIVE points For every rider you correctly predict to reach the Grand Final ... you will score TEN points ... If one of your predicted finalists wins the Gorzow GP you will gain an extra TEN points. EXAMPLE PREDICTION POST 6 Fredrik Lindgren 9 Darcy Ward 2 Artem Laguta 11 Tomasz Gollob Hampel - 12 points Jonsson - 14 points Hancock - 8 points Lindback - 3 points FINALISTS - Jonsson, Hampel, Gollob, Ward GORZOW PREDICTIONS 13 Andreas Jonsson 13 Jarek Hampel 11 Tomasz Gollob 11 Jason Crump 9 Emil Sayfutdinov 9 Darcy Ward 9 Greg Hancock 8 Chris Holder 7 Kenneth Bjerre 6 Nicki Pedersen 6 Fredrik Lindgren 5 Chris Harris 4 Antonio Lindback 4 Rune Holta 3 Janusz Kolodiej 2 Artem Laguta

  9. With the season nearly finished and the AGM set to take place, here is an idea I have drawn up that would not only inject new blood to the sport, but also help bring back some of the top riders every now and again in a squad system. POINTS LIMIT; 25 points for 5 riders. Each track also has three reserve riders as #8, #9 and #10 STAR RIDERS; Each team to select 5 star riders. Only ONE can hold an 8+ average One Star Rider cant have an average greater than the 2nd rider from the 5 team riders. One Star Rider cant have an average greater than the 3rd rider from the 5 team riders. In ALL Elite League matches (18 home and 18 away) the team will consist of 7 riders of which 2 are Star Riders. A team can use a Star Rider instead of one of the 5 team riders as long as his average is lower than the rider they are replacing or the 5 lowest riders remain under the points limit. Should a team only be able to track one Star Rider due to injuries, FIM Meetings or unavailable then the team may operate r/r for any of the star riders apart from the top two. THE NEW BRITISH KNOCK OUT CUP; ALL Elite League teams and ALL Premier League teams (10+14 = 24 teams) are placed into four groups of six (10 home / 10 away) with each group containing at least two EL tracks. Elite League teams cant use any Star Riders in this competition (unless they are replacing a rider with a higher average) and they track any two of the reserve riders (8,9 or 10) Premier League teams can bring in a new rider in these matches .... or operate r/r for a 2nd heat leader EXAMPLES; Wolverhampton STAR 1 - 9.21 Fredrik Lindgren STAR 2 - 6.92 Adam Skornicki STAR 3 - 6.54 Nicolai Klindt STAR 4 - 5.00 Patryk Dudek STAR 5 - 4.00 Mikkel Michelsen TEAM 1 - 8.04 Tai Woffinden TEAM 2 - 5.09 Ty Proctor TEAM 3 - 4.00 ? TEAM 4 - 3.84 Ludvig Lindgren TEAM 5 - 3.75 Ricky Wells RES #8 - 3.00 Joe Haines RES #9 - 3.00 Ashley Morris RES #10 - 3.00 Brendan Johnson ELITE LEAGUE TEAM; F Lindgren, Woffinden, Skornicki, Proctor, 4.00, L Lindgren, Wells KNOCK OUT CUP TEAM; Woffinden, Proctor, 4.00, L Lindgren, Wells, Haines, Morris POOLE; Example ..... STAR; Holder 9.30, Watt 7.71, THJ 5.38, Vaculik 5.00, 4.00 TEAM; Ward 8.94, Doyle 5.28, Gafurov 4.42, Newman 3.00, .... 3.00 OPTION TWO; Instead of a KO CUP featruring ALL tracks, ELITE goes 9 home and 9 away plus EL KO CUP while the 5 Riders plus reserves ride 9 home 9 away in a British League and a BL KO CUP ..... Guaranteed 20 home matches for all EL tracks If more EL matches are needed, make two groups of five (4 home 4 away) with the top two from each group featuring in semi finals then a final. .... 24 guaranteed matches, upto 32 matches if reach all finals. . ANY VIEWS ?
  10. Magic holds a one point lead going into this round ..... he has a very nice final ride with Zmarzlik (Poland), Dudek (Poland) and Tarasenko (Russia)
  11. He was the best rider we had in the early/mid 80's but in my opinion Jessup, Collins, Morton, Simmons, Louis, Wilson, Eric Boocock, Kennett, Pusey, Lee, Tatum, Wigg and Betts were of equal if not better standard. For effort and determination he was one of the best but no where near with attitude and relating with others. Never got to see the likes of Craven, Williams etc ride so can't remark on those but to win two World Titles in the time of Fundin, Moore etc was some achievement so Peter Craven woyld possibly be rated #1 all time Brit
  12. So next season the Wild Card picks should go to an Italian, a Czech, a Croatian and possibly a German ..... (Who would be the Welsh rider ?) Darcy Ward tried to qualify but didnt make it through to the final while Fredrik Lindgren has gone through the qualifiers every season and last year had to compete in a race off to get this years place. So he qualified on merit .... This year I'm not sure if Fred even went in the qualifiers and if he didn't why not as he has always done them before. Basically with the standard of riders already in the line up, it crazy not to change it to the TOP 10 automatically qualify as the riders that finish 9th or 10th are usually top class riders. ... Leave the GP Challenge with 3 spots and then 2 Wild Cards In my opinion Fredrik Lindgren, Nicki Pedersen and Darcy Ward should get picked and looking at the options .... Bomber the final spot too
  13. With just one round left of the GP Series for 2011, we know that Greg Hancock is World Champion but who will win the title of GP PREDICTOR is still to be decided and in this round it could all change big time as the points available (and could be deducted) is staggering so its anyones game. More details to follow soon ......
  14. WELL DONE GREG HANCOCK - 2011 SPEEDWAY WORLD CHAMPION CHRIS "Bomber" HARRIS may not have won the meeting but his 19 points in Crotia landed those that selected him a massive 17 points, making him by far the best rider to have picked while Fredrik Lindgren and Rune Holta picked up 7 points and Kenneth Bjerre picked up 5 points .... no one selected these four together. Other scores were .... Andreas Jonsson 4pts, Nicki Pedersen -3pts, Antonio Lindback -1pt, Jarek Hampel -5pts, Emil Sayfutdinov 1pt, Wild Card -1pt, Chris Holder -2pts, Artem Laguta 3pts, Greg Hancock 1pt, Janusz Kolodiej 3pts, Tomasz Gollob -7pts and Jason Crump -4pts IMPARTIAL ONE was the best "PREDICTOR" in this round despite picking Antonio Lindback. Thankfully Bomber, Fast Freddie and Holta did enough to give him 30 points and a big move up the leaderboard. .... Other good scores were done by Cornishman 28pts, TNT 28pts, noggin 26pts and Dukey Boy 26pts. ..... Worst score was by Gray who selected Hampel, Emil, Lindback and AJ to end up with -1 point. Going into this round the top of the leaderboard was ..... 139 Stiltonpanther 119 refereerick 118 home straight 110 noggin Stilton Panther could have pushed way into the distance but had a nightmare scoring just 9 points while refereerick picked up just 7pts and home straight also 7pts. .... SP still leads the way though ...... but it could all change in the final round in Gorzow .... so be prepared LEAGUE TABLE AFTER CROATIA 148 Stiltonpanther 136 noggin 126 refereerick 125 home straight 120 Impartial One 118 smiles 112 Dukey Boy 109 T.N.T 99 June01 91 Rico 89 beercellar 86 broniagigolo 82 phillips11 71 scotcj101 64 Cornishman 61 racers and royals 61 Andy Lebedevs 55 Gray 49 Beesboybert 36 spook 33 William Fisher Jones 30 Lingo 27 Robbie B 19 keef 16 waihekeaces 16 I hate the rain 15 drakey 11 pensilva 6 Crazy Machine 4 screm 3 Adzy -1 Matt K -5 superguest -5 future -11 Wadey -12 Lis
  15. The trouble with counting matches ridden at the end of the previous season is a team can either be out of the running (or already qualified for the play offs) and in the remaining matches could score lowly as they know these rides will seriously lower next seasons averages and possibly the season after too. If next season every team rides each other twice at home and twice away, there will be 36 league matches ..... will it revert to a 38 match rolling average ? ...... if it does then Wolves can keep both Fredrik Lindgren and Tai Woffinden as Tai's 38 match average is way below 8 points a match
  16. Just over 6 hours to get your predictions in ..... remember no editing after 6pm !!
  17. With a 31 point lead, Hampel has to score at least 8 more than Herbie to make it go to the final round MY PREDICTIONS; Fredrik Lindgren - 3rd last GP and in th final here last year .... still needs big points Janusz Kolodiej - Has to find his form as he is better than this Chris Harris - Made the final last year, but he was on a run of form then ? Emil Sayfutdinov - Simply because on his day he can go unbeaten
  18. That would be fine ..... but one of the top 11 (Lindback) IS one of the three qualifiers ..... which is my point in the first place ....who would fill that ONE spot. FREDRIK LINDGREN; OK I may be a bit biased being a Wolves and Freddie fan, but the big difference between him and Bomber is about the gap in points ... Fred is just 12 points behind the Top 8 while Bomber is 25 behind Freddie and 37 behind the top 8 .... Two good performances from Freddie will see him in the top 8 .... If Bomber wins the last two he is still not going to make it above the cut off line. If there has to be a Brit .... its Bomber or Scott only ...... Tai doesnt want it. ..... Rico been there done that ...... Ed coming back from a ban .... Barker, Bridger, King etc not up to it
  19. 20. A meeting to remember New Zealand star, Gary Peterson who died tragically at Monmore Green in 1975 riding for Wolves in a Midland Cup match v Oxford This meeting usually has afield of young riders with a few more experienced riders thrown in for good measure and was won by Tai Woffinden last season and has to start as favourite here after scorring 44+1 from his last three meetings at WV2 and finishing the season not only as the highest averaging Brit for the season, but also has the highest average at home from the Wolves team (inc Freddie) I think Nicolai Klindt returns to his parent track for the first time this season and there will be challenges for Tai from team mate, Ty Proctor and local based riders in Ryan Fisher from Coventry and both Ben Barker and Daniel King from Birmingham. Whatever the end result, there is likely to be some great racing and admission has been reduced to just £12 for Adults amd £3 for kids. 17 year old Holsted rider, Mikkel Salomonsen makes his first official Monmore appearance
  21. Only 2 rounds of the 2011 Grand Prix Series are left to run and the current standings make it odds on that Greg Hancock will be World Champion for the second time in a long and brilliant career while the top 8 are divided by a 10 point gap to Nicki Pedersen in 9th with Fredrik Lindgren two behind him. 11th in line is Antonio Lindback who has already qualified for next year and then there is a 25 point gap between 10th placed Lindgren and 12th placed, Chris Harris who despite being the only Brit in the line up will be unlikely to get a nomination for next season. With GP Qualifiers, Pepe Protasiewicz and Bjarne Pedersen replacing Artem Laguta and Janusz Kolodiej and almost certainly the brilliant Darcy Ward replacing Rune Holta, it looks like they will stick with the current top ten leaving just ONE place to fill ...... but by who ? POSSIBLE 2012 LINE UP 1 Greg Hancock 2 Jarek Hampel 3 Andreas Jonsson 4 Jason Crump 5 Tomasz Gollob 6 Chris Holder 7 Emil Sayfutdinov 8 Kenneth Bjerre 9 Nicki Pedersen 10 Fredrik Lindgren 11 Antonio Lindback 12 Bjarne Pedersen 13 Piotr Protasiewicz 14 Darcy Ward 15 ............ ? Will Harris get the last place or will the highest averaging Brit, Tai Woffinden get another chance ? Who else is there that will enhance the line up more and why ? Personally I cant really see anyone that stands out and would much rather the 15th spot given to a rider in form going into that meeting with the 16th place given to a rider from the country holding the GP Views ......
