  1. What's with all the Poole comments. If I post on another teams thread its about that team not about what Wolves are doing or going to do. Poole are the Man City of Speedway where money comes first and everyone love's to see the big names fall. Wolves will be happy to be the Arsenal who have their season's but keep it cost effective and very entertaining to boot and long may it continue Patrick Hansen was excellent In the World U21 so if he is on a 7.00 he would be worth a shot and should be able to be a good second string.
  2. Bradley Wilson Dean has joined Swindon as they mucked up their calculations on assessed averages for the New Dane and add the 1,4 conversion. One point is I think BWD will be another good signing on a decent average and like Klindt is another who could've been a good reserve and the other is a highly rated young Dane is now available on a 5.60 average. That would leave enough for Ashley Morris to be at reserve and Andersen at number two if making the bottom end more balanced would be a benefit. In Football terms its like having a 3-1-1-2-0 formation where as signing Skornicki or Musielak would be more 3-2-0-1-1. If you get my just 😊
  3. Think Max Fricke will be heading East but with Cook 9.83, Worrall 8.49, Worrall 8.47, Jacobs 5.36 and Bewley 3.90 leaves 13.95 for two places which could be Ben Barker 7.91 and Viktor Palovaarov 5.81 or Michael Palm Toft 6.98 along with Dmitri Brrge 6.91 as second strings. Look at the other teams and that would be a better balance and still very strong at home
  4. Question for all the Swindon fans. If you take out Jason Doyle and put in a 3.00 reserve you have a Championship team. Wouldn't it be possible to run in both leagues with six of the seven riders in both teams giving you 16 Premiership meetings and 16 Championship meetings often run on two different nights but mainly one meeting a week. Obviously riders wouldn't be riding elsewhere
  5. @ Complete waste of time in my opinion as the Championship team won't want to move up and although the league's are closer there is no way a Premiership team should lose to a lower league team over two legs.
  6. In reality Adam has missed three seasons as 2014 at Birmingham was wiped out and with injuries and the time away plus his age then the reduction is justified and other riders have been reduced in less time. Personally I would like to see Tobiaz Musielak bought back as he is more likely to step up and less of a gamble
  7. At first I would agree about Howarth but the problem is there are too many riders on inflated averages and they should have adapted everyone to an EL average and this would have given so many more bonuses for teams, riders and fans. Had they have used EL riders and built to 38 then Holder may have stayed at Poole plus Doyle and Iversen wouldn't be on stupid averages. Riders like Jack Holder and Kyle Howarth wouldn't be looked at as seven point riders who are not going to reach that level and would be seen and use a 5,13 average instead. Also when a rider gets a new average like Freddie Lindgren gets a 8.73 average from his 10.09, then gets injured. Wolves wouldn't even be able to bring in Kylmakorpi as replacement as he is on a crazy 9.35 Had they have used EL averages and set a 38 limit then Wolves would be able to get Masters, Skornicki and Simon Lambert to complete the team and you wouldn't be expecting Howarth to get seven points or Sarjeant at Coventry getting six.
  8. Vaculik would not want to ride here and if he did it would be 7.50 x 1.4 so wouldn't be 8.00
  9. Yes it looks like the biggest bargain for 2017 will be riding elsewhere despite being a club asset but that means very little in speedway and a rider mainly gets what he wants. Most riders will see averages drop next season and those using old Premier League averages especially look over assessed for the top level. If a rider like Kyle Howarth struggles to reach 5 in an Elite League and reserve races, how is he expected to average 7.18 in the top tier and as a second string ? As he is riding in the Darcy Ward meeting next year, Rory Schlein on 7.17 is a bargain and while he is a bit of a gamble he can still be a good back up to a strong heat leader pairing of Lindgren and Thorssell. While Sam Masters is a almost certain signing, do you really need a third big hitter if it means having a weaker tail end. Schlein plus Museliak and Berge or Ross would still leave about 5.5 for a reserve to go alongside Max and Simon Lambert , Bradley Wilson-Dean or Vino Manzares are all in that bracket and BWD looks a good call. Lindgren Museliak Schlein Berge/Ross Thorssell Clegg 5,5 Is that stronger than having Masters and a 3 point ?
  10. As reserves are no longer protected a strong reserve pairing can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the format. Not having protected rides is going to be hard for the low ranked riders as they will be now looking at picking up vital third places against second string visitors Looking at what has been posted so far getting Berege would be good but I can't help thinking Museilak would be worth a gamble and signing those two would leave just enough for Danny Ayres or Arthur Sissis alongside Clegg.
  11. Good top two who both improved last season and should be as strong as any or her top two and with Masters it would from a good top three. Would like to see a few changes as second strings and Musielak has to be in the running on a decent average and maybe a fresh face as the other second string like Riss or Berge and only Skornicki if he is reduced which has been done before in Steve Boxall and Rob Near being reassessed Max definitely at reserve and a new partner like Bradley Wilson or a 5,00 newbie.
  12. Must admit I thought if anyone from Freddie Jacob or Sam want coming back it would have been Freddie as he has new teams in Sweden and Poland and a full time GP rider in a very strong line up. Think Bomber is already pencilled in and can't see Jacob not returning as he is like one of the family at the Adams house and really stepped up last season especially away So Sam Masters is the most unlikey now out of those four but that's just my opinion and would certainly go with all four alongside Klindt Clegg and a 2,00 like Layne Culpitt who obviously has a good teacher ☺
  13. Not been.around for a while on here but I quite like the new set up and like the word Elite has been dropped. Some things are still unsure as details are not out like who is doubling up, are GP riders ok and is there cover of they are missing but overall it looks a good move or at least in the right direction. Wolves 2017 I can't see Jacob Thorssell or Max Clegg being left out and if he can double up or move up full time, Sam Masters is sure to be wanted back. Have a feeling Freddie will be taking a year away again to concentrate on the GP and has new teams in Sweden and Poland but luckily that's where Chris Harris should step in and finally get to ride Monmore each week but not as a guest each fortnight. If Nicolai is available on 5.42 he has to be included but not on 8.90 so Jacob Bomber Sam Nicolai and Max with two places left and would love to see Musielak back as he has yet to show how good he can be. Adam Skornicki would be a crowd pleaser but what average and is he up for the top league at 40 and years not racing ?
  14. So the Swedish play off finals are Tuesday and Wednesday. Jacob Thorssell and Chris Holder involved so the finalists will be who gets hold of Bomber first by the looks of it Gutted that I'm going to miss it as flying to Poznan Tuesday night ready for three meetings in three days. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  15. Was thinking of going to this one but have decided to go to the local instead and watch it for a few reasons. The fact discounts are being given to just home fans (attend Storm) doesn't benefit away fans = The fact it's on TV is another and thirdly the fact my 15 year old has spent over two hundred quid from my account on XBox hasn't helped. Wolves to win again but should be closer as KK and King can't be as bad as last time but Howarth will be into double figures and taking an extra ride
  16. Kings Lynn 13 Freddie Lindgren 12 Krzystof Kasprzak 12 Kenneth Bjerre 11 Hans Andersen 10 Joonas Kylmakorpi 10 Sam Masters 9 Brady Kurtz 8 Craig Cook =res Terenzano 14 Piotr Pawlicki 13 Kim Nilsson 12 Michael Jepsen Jensen 10 Krzysztof Buczkowski 10 Peter Ljung 10 Nicolas Covatti 9 Jurica Pavlic =res Slangerup 12 Bartosz Zmarzlik 11 Andreji Karpov 11 Mikkel Bech 10 Martin Vaculik 10 Thomas H Johansson 9 Andzejs Lebedevs 8 Anders Thomsen =res Not many shocks but sadly the British riders just miss out. Is the lack of racing abroad a reason possibly and the fact in recent years Cook, Lambert and Garrity have concentrated more on doubling up rather than riding in Sweden or Poland or managing to reach the level to ride in those leagues. Good to see the four Wolverhampton riders easily getting through and carrying on their good form and all four are riding in at least one other country this season.
  17. Poole are never easy to beat or even get a point from at Wimborne Road and while they seemed depleteted, they actually turned out to be better off. After scoring well at reserve, Ellis having such a high inflated average helped as Holder was now allowed an extra ride ...... But not a Tier 2 reserve that has moved up but while it allows a World Champion to gain extra rides from Petersen r\r he can only be replaced by a rider from the list that is lower than them on the list. It's been said that the list gets updated but the list also states the rankings go from March 2015 to March 2016. As Ellis is a Tier two rider at 15, Auty is at 3 and a Tier one rider. It does make it hard to follow for even the die hard fans so think what a newcomer would make of it if the rules were told to them! As for this meeting, Poole were clearly the better team and Charles Wright did well while Kurtz being at reserve was a bonus but for Wolves, Howarth struggled and Clegg is out of his depth even in the reserve riders races, especially when you get riders like Kurtz or Klindt etc dropping down. Next stop for Wolverhampton is the second away trip to Coventry who are clearly struggling and good time to play them now before they make changes.
  18. Swindon will no doubt be looking at how to fit someone in like Zengota and Kings Lynn when Batchelor is fit to return along with another new face.
  19. Buzckowski has if memory serves me right had a good score at Monmore Green in the past and most Polish riders have adapted to the track in the past. As a reserve Newman (or replacement) can take any ride they wish to put them in. Ellis will struggle as a heat leader but no doubt Kurtz will have one of those rides but having Pedersen and Buzckowski as second strings makes them stronger in that department so swings and roundabouts really. Masters and Thorssell are very strong second strings especially at home so the middle order battles will be important. If Bech can get amongst the points and Freddie and Kylmakorpi carry on with their good form it should swing it towards them but it's going to be a tough meeting. 47_43 Hoping to make it over for this one so hope the rain keeps away.
  20. Went to the Coventry v Leicester match on Good Friday and both teams failed to impress really but they both high lighted certain areas that made the scores switch and change the lead through the meeting. Leicester relied heavily on the reserves of Auty and Starke who finished as their top scorers while Coventry relied heavily on the top three of KK, Bomber and King. If Freddie can rise from the ashes of a poor last season and Bech can get on the form he started last season, Wolves can have a decent top two. Howarth will be a strong reserve and even when he moves up, Wolves will have a strong number six while Clegg will benefit from riding at Monmore Green each week but starts the season as possibly the least experienced reserve in the league. Basically Wolves know they will have a strong reserve rider but the question is will they have the heat leaders to match the other teams ? The key members this season are not Masters and Thorssell but Lindgren and Bech being 8 point riders.
  21. I came to Bombers Testimonial and as Belle Vue can't get a track fit to race on still, I decided to come to the Leicester match with my daughter and youngest son and was pleasantly surprised to see that it only cost £17 for the three of us to get in. Add £3 for a programme and that's just £20 after an hour's journey from my house. Racing hasn't been great apart from a few close finishes at Bombers but it is good value for someone to take their kids to a Speedway meeting. As it happens I will be back at Brandon on Friday when Wolves are there with ex Bees, Kylmakorpi and Howarth in the team so that's 3\3 so far at Coventry and I may be coming to the Kings Lynn meeting too. As for the Bees it was no surprise Bomber and KK made light work of a weak Leicester team and King didn't have to much trouble as they lacked any real heat leaders and only made a match of it due to a strong reserve pairing which Bees don't have and that is going to cost them all season. Woryna wasn't too bad and could have scored more but for a puncture in his first ride but against stronger opposition and a team with big guns in they are going to get tested much more than this during the season and need Garrity to get inform as the top three won't be hitting 30 plus against other teams and the reserves will secure Garrity a place in the main body as neither are capable of moving up. Against Wolverhampton they will have Lindgren usually going well at Brandon, Bech capable of scoring and Kylmakorpi knowing the track well. Add to that Lindgren will be a second string and Howarth at reserve and Bees will have to improve on what I have seen so far.
  22. It will happen and it will be one night but one meeting moved for Sky. There has to be a top level of racing and the Elite needs to be able to accommodate the best riders in the world if they wish to ride here and being one night would mean quite a few will come back to race in Britain, especially if it's a fixture list of 14-18 meetings and not 28 on various nights. Without a League that can track the top riders you will get riders developing to a certain level and need to progress to a higher level and leave British Speedway like Tai Woffinden, Nicki Petersen, Greg Hancock etc who need a regular set fixture list. Britain is at present starting to get some decent young riders.come through like Robert Lambert, Jason Garrity etc who like Tai would love to carry on racing here but time and money prevents them from riding on various race nights here and they too will leave .... if they reach that level.
  23. I don't know if it fits but can I recommend Tobiasz Musielak who averaged 4.79 for Wolverhampton last season and while he struggled at home, he was excellent away and the Workington track would suit him fine. If he fits, he would be a great signing and when Proctor comes back it could be someone else to move out as I am confident he would be a great rider in the Premier League.
  24. To be honest I don't know too much about some of the riders as I am more involved with the Elite League but will give my best prediction on the teams in the league. BERWICK - Can see them doing fine at home but don't think they have the strength of other teams and won't be contenders. EDINBURGH - Don't know how much they have left for the final spot but they have experience and potential but I can see better teams and the final rider will be the key. GLASGOW - Very solid top four and very capable of big points. Behind that it is hard to see the rider filling the second string position being capable of scoring much. They will be there abouts thanks to the top four. IPSWICH - King and Covatti can be a great top two and Risager and Kerr offer good support. Like Glasgow it is hard to see which of the other three can hold down a second string role. NEWCASTLE - Amazing top three, possibly the strongest trio in the league. However they have one space left and that needs to be a good signing as I can't see too much backing up the heat leaders. PETERBOROUGH - Team Denmark can be good for team bonding and all riders can hold their own. Nicolai Busk Jacobsen is a rider ready to step up and this could be a very good team that has the right balance. PLYMOUTH - Is Gjedde still a number one ? I can see Holder, Kurtz and Newman improving but don't think this team has enough to challenge. REDCAR - Looking like the team trying to avoid the wooden spoon. RYE HOUSE - Don't think Karger is the heat leader they need to step up and could be struggling to get mid table. SCUNTHORPE - Klindt for the season would be good but unsure on his replacement and they admit Holub will get a lower average so why sign a rider that can't score what his average suggests. They have qualities but once Nicolai goes it looks downhill. SHEFFIELD - Stead and Garrity are an amazing top two and Howarth makes a great top three but behind that is the question if they have enough to back them up. Bates can improve and they are one to watch out for. SOMERSET - Grajczonek and Tungate can deliver and Wright can back them, but I can see BWD being the Star here and challenge for a heat leader role while Starke is a solid rider. However in Allen and Zack they have more potential and this could be the most solid team to start the season and my favourite for top spot. WORKINGTON - Wolverhampton B have been hit with the Proctor news which is a shame as he can be a contender for the number one spot. Who they get as a replacement will be vital and I think they could look to Wolverhampton once more and bring in Tobiasz Musielak who could be a bargain and well suited to the Workington track and good away. Dark Horses for sure. Somerset then my tip with Workington, Peterborough, Glasgow, Sheffield and either Edinburgh or Newcastle to form a top six.
  25. Now and again you get a young rider that can jump straight into the top League like Joe Screen, Lewis Bridger and Roger Lambert but most of the top riders have learnt their trade in a lower league with Tatum riding for Wimbledon in the second tier, Wigg at Weymouth and Loram at Hackney even though he did start in his first season at the top. The Premier League needs to be doing much more for British riders like making foreign riders keep their assessed average until they reach that level. If they miss a meeting only their real average is used and if replaced also. How many teams would bring back a rider on a 5 or 7 average if they are only averaging 3. Plus it would mean all Premier League teams would have British reserves and more second strings also.
