  1. Mainly it has been me that has been on about Stuart Robson for sometime and anyone that has watched Robbo around Monmore Green a number of times knows full well why I would like to see him in the team. He entertains, he scores in most races and YES ... his average would fit nicely for him to start at reserve giving Wolves a decent reserve from the start of the season and mean we would always have a 5+ reserve. I have spoken to Robbo numerous times at WV2, I know how much he enjoys riding the track and Wolves desperatly need to get back to picking up three points each home meeting (42 points) rather than crossing your fingers, kissing a shamrock and avoiding ladders to scrape home with the odd win. We dropped 15 points at home last season .... That was enough to be 3rd in the table rather than 9th out of 10. So he beat a 3.75 averaging Ricky Wells, a 3.00 Lubos Tomicek and 3.83 averaging James Grieves Seriously though, yes he would be a good signing but is Jason Doyle 6.50 or Adam Skornicki 6.57 better or safer options ? YES ...... He is about to enter the 2013 Grand Prix Series and his sponsors to help him achieve that are mainly Wolverhampton based .
  2. One thing that hasn't been made clear and going of what was said by CVS and Pete Adams last week, the mssing rider can be replaced by ANY Premier League rider that has the same or lower PL average This is where we should have ONE standard average for doubling up riders to make it fair and easier to understand. EXAMPLE; Ricky Wells starts at Wolves with a 5.79 average, Simon Stead at Kings Lynn on 5.75, Adam Roynon at Coventry on 5.13 ....... however due to his PL average, Stead, Roynon, Auty, Morris etc etc Can NOT replace Wells if he is missing Oliver Allen averaged 5.77 last season and so far isn't oubling up .... even he cant take a guest booking if Wells is missing. Simon Stead 5.75 could be missing a meeting for Kings Lynn and with his converted PL average, he can be replaced by Jason Doyle 6.50 or Ryan Fisher 6.02. MIDLAND ROBIN - If a rider is missing, can the team operate r/r rather than bring in a guest ? May be the best option for Wolves It was changed to ONE rider because teams kept swapping and changing the lower rider of the two as that was the average used for guest or r/r facility. .... So a rider like Josh Auty and Adam Roynon started on a 3.00 but as the season moved on their EL average moved up to 5+ so instead of Jason Bunyan or Henning Bager doubling up, they could now have riders like Joe Screen or Ricky Ashworth etc I'm hoping Zengota or Doyle are at Wolves next season as it looks like we have two places left to fill if as expected we start with Tai, Freddie, Ricky, Ty and Jacob. ..... That leaves enough for Zengota and Stuart Robson .... or ..... Jason Doyle and Matej Kus
  3. 8.18 Hans Andersen 5.78 Nick Morris 6.25 Edward Kennett ? 7.94 Troy Batchelor 6.98 Peter Kildemand 3.90 Adrian Gomolski 3.37 Ashley Birks Very good top five if Kennett is the missing rider with four riders that could average 8 points a meeting. The reserves look the only weak point, especially away or if r/r is in operation for Morris. Will Kennett be doubling up ? I know he was looking at doing both so much will depend on which track he rides for, but his PL average should mean any PL rider can be used as a guest like Barker, Stead, Fisher or Doyle.
  4. While I can see why they have changed the assessed averages, I think its a bit high for a 18 year old to be set at 6.00 who has mainly ridden in Denmark and in the lower leagues at Sweden. Yes he was a high scorer in the World U21 finals but thats not against Crump. Hancock, Pedersen etc so if it was 5.00 or 5.50 then I would agree he is worth looking at. However, if its more then I would rather go with a team that has Robbo at reserve rather than Ales Dryml !!
  5. Race Jackets are not being used in the Elite League as a whole I thought and doubling up riders will have a set of Kevlars as they should be in 90% of the meetings. With certain riders already signed up elsewhere, I am hoping Wolves go with Stuart Robson at reserve alongside Jacob Thorssell as we have been struggling with the tail end for the last few years. Should he move up to the main body will mean another 5+ rider droppingdown. 1 - Tai Woffinden 8.80 2 - Tyron Proctor 5.53 3 - 4 - Ricky Wells 5.79 5 - Fredrik Lindgren 8.68 6 - Stuart Robson 5.09 7 - Jacob Thossell 3.00 leaves 5.61 for the final place. 5.60 Peter Ljung (1) 5.57 Grzegorz Zengota (2) 5.45 Kim Nilsson (6) 5.43 Denis Andersson (5) 5.37 Daniel Nermark (4) 5.24 David Ruud (3) (order of preference)
  6. Peterborough 2013 ? ? 8.18 Kenneth Bjerre 7.72 Linus Sundstrom 6.57 Kenni Larsen 6.55 Krzysztof Buczkowski 5.50 Norbert Koscuich 4.98 Patrick Hougaard 3.00 Kyle Newman 42.50
  7. Kennett at Eastbourne more likely ...... Why not Magic and Doyle back at Swindon with Andersen, Kildemand and Morris leaving8.93 for the last two 8.18 Hans Andersen 6.98 Peter Kildemand 6.50 Jason Doyle 6.13 Maciej Janowski 5.79 Nick Morris Is Joonas Davidsson 5.93 still a Swindon asset ? .... would mean Morris lines up at reserve alongside Tom Perry ? Personally would have kept Stead, but if he was already lined up at Sheffield, it would be hard for him to ride for Swindon too.
  8. Yes it is a Wolves Talk In, but it is used to talk about the sport in general too and both Leicester and Dudley not moving up has a small significance to Wolves. .... Leicester would add another team to the fixtures .... Dudley not moving up means Adam Roynon wont be getting in practice each Tuesday and if they had moved up there was a good chance a Wolves rider could have been in their ranks ======================================================================= At the talk in, we will hopefully get a clearer picture of who is going to be in the team. We know Freddie is back and Ricky has been in talks while Tai is almost certain to start at #1. ... Don't think Pontus and Jacob will be back as both reserves and expect Jacob 3.00 to get the vote of confidence as he progressed a lot from his debut. .... Personally I would have thought Pontus would be the one lining up in 2013 due to his slightly better form at the end of the season but actually think it will be Jacob selected. Also the position of Ty Proctor will be more clear hopefully and personally speaking I hope he lines up with the #2 race jacket. ... That would leave two team places if those five do start in 2013 with 10.70 available and the list of riders that could fit that bill is quite long in the main body place with Sebastian Ulamek 7.10, Adam Skornicki 6.57, Kenni Larsen 6.57, Eddie Kennett 6.25, Robert Miskowiak 5.81 and Daniel Nermark ...... Larsen, Miskowiak or Nermark seem more likely. As for the other reserve spot, Ricky Kling 3.97 would fit in with Larsen .... Lasse Bjerre 4.83 would fit with Miskowiak .... Hougaard 4.97 or Stuart Robson 5.09 would fit with Nermark. ........ Wouldn't mind any combination really ....but we will have to see.
  9. On Monday evening, Wolverhampton Speedway hold their annual Talk In at Chillington Working Mens Club situated on Hickman avenue close to the Stadium. Each season this evening consists of Chris Van Straaten, Peter Adams and a guest, usually a rider taking questions from the floor, usually fronted by Nigel Pearson. Why were Leicester denied entry to the Elite League ? Why did Dudley not move up to the Premier League ? What are the views on the new doubling up rules and the ups and downs of it ? Are Wolves going to buy Ricky Wells and who will he be lining up with ? Entry is usually a small fee which goes to charity (not too sure which one) and starts at 7.30pm. Every year this brings a lare crowd to the evening, so anyone intersted in coming along, get there early.
  10. Patric made his debut at Wolves as a 16 year old in the Olympique and has always gone well at Monmore. His average has dropped each year recently and on 4.98 he could be a good reserve at Monmore ..... or heat leader at Kirky Lane Tai, Fred, Ricky, Ty, Nermark, Hougaard, Aspgren ..... decent 1-7 Tai, Fred, Miskowiak, Ricky, Robson, Hougaard, Aspgren ...... just as decent 1-7
  11. so not trawling through the pages, are Swindon looking at something like ...... 8.18 Hans Andersen 7.94 Troy Batchelor 6.98 Peter Kildermand 6.13 Maciej Janowski 5.78 Nick Morris 3.00 Ashley Birks 38.01 .... 4.49 for the last place (7.48 PL) Would be a strong top five and if they could get a good reserve it will be a useful team.
  12. 8.80 TAI WOFFINDEN .............. Had a concern he may not be back for a while but pretty sure he is back an starting at #1. 8.68 FREDRIK LINDGREN ......... Signed and hopefully back to his best 5.79 RICKY WELLS ................. In Talks and likely to be doubling up 5.53 TYRON PROCTOR ......... He may never be the next Jason Crump, but he is a good team man and #2 3.15 PONTUS ASPGREN ......... He progressed well enough in the last half of the seaon to deserve a spot at reserve. out ...... 5.68 Nicolai Klindt - Injuries din't help and some poor performances saw his average drop by nearly a point out ...... 3.00 Jacob Thorssell - Apart from his away score at Poole, he struggled most matches and needs a year in the PL. That leaves 10.55 for the last two places ...... If you put Jacob at reserve with Pontus, you would have to be looking at Sebastian Ulamek 7.10 and I cant see that. .... So the last two places have to go to a rider that can score well as a second string and a rider a reserve that could be a match winner but always get at least 4 away. 6.57 Kenni Larsen, 6.57 Adam Skornicki, 6.50 Jason Doyle, 6.44 Simon Gustafsson or 6.25 Edward Kennett 3.97 Ricky Kling or 3.71 Ludvig Lindgren Gustafsson would be m first choice but think he will stay at Eastbourne and be joined by Edward Kennett. .... Will Larsen be released by Coventry ? ..... Will Poole want Doyle back ? ...... As much as I lik Sqora, I think Larsen or Doyle would be better as Larsen could improve while Doyle is solid an if he misses a meeting you can use Barker, Fisher, Howe, Allen etc etc. If it is Adam, I'm sure he could do a good job and while he may have the odd off night, you know with Adam he can also have those nights of brilliance too. If he was to return, then he would be the best choice as Captain and ride at #4 for the crucial heat 14's. ..... As for Kling or Lindgren, Ricky usually rides Monmore well and at reserve could be useful while Ludvig could be the same but if Doyle signed it would be unlikely as there would be too many doubling up. 1 - Tai Woffiden 2 - Ty Proctor 3 - Ricky Wells 4 - Adam Skornicki or .......... (see above) 5 - Fredrik Lindgren 6 - Ricky Kling 7 - Pontus Aspgren
  13. Don't know but if someone is to put a considerable amount of money into any business, then I would think that they may have an opinion on how the money could be used. Don't think they make any real input, just a view. Pleased that they are carrying on as Dave has been linked with the club for over forty years now.
  14. Nicolai joined Wolves as one of the hottest properties in World Speedway and it was a major signing for the club. After three decent years of progression to a 6-7 point rider, Nicolai has suffered injuries in the last few years, his confidence dented and at times really struggled to make a contribution to the team and at times looked like a raw novice. When Nic is in full flow he is a reat rider and very quick, but he has always struggled to race his own style when he misses the gate and that has been quite often of late. He backs out of a challenge if he is on the inside ofa rider going into a turn and although he is fast when out in the dirt, once he misses the gate he dies straight to the white line without success. It's a shame as Nic is a nice guy and afavourite of mine on the track, but tha has been very rare this season as his average dropped nearly a point. As for Ricky, in the two seasons he has been at Wolves he has progressed from a rider that was struggling in the Premier League even at reserve and couldn't buy a point in the Elite League for love or money. Now he not only has progressed into a solid second string, averaging over six points a meeting from the #4 berth, he has the age and backing on his side to go a lot further with the club and internationally. 2011 started as a 3.00 rider and 2012 started as a 3.75 rider. In 2013 he will start his third season a Wolves on 5.79 .... an increase of 2.04 !!! WOLVERHAMPTON "Parrys International" WOLVES 2013 ...... Possibly ? 8.80 Tai Woffinden .............. start as #1 8.68 Fredrik Lindgren .......... SIGNED 5.79 Ricky Wells DU ............ in talks 5.53 Tyron Proctor DU ......... likely to start at #2 3.15 Pontus Aspgren ........... better at reserve and by the end of the season did really well 31.95 10.55 for the last two places CONTENDERS; 3.00 Jacob Thorssell ........... Has potential but may be better in the Premier League in 2013 and use him if Pontus is unavailable ..... problem is, would another EL team snap him up wanting a 3.00 rider !! ..... if he stays then club asset, Sebastian Ulamek 7.10 would fit but would think Wolves would much rather have Mads Korneliussen 6.70 or Simon Gustafsson 6.44 if available 5.81 Robert Miskowiak ......... Impressed the club on and off the track while helping the club out last season and already owns a set of team kevlars .... leaves 4.74 for the last place at reserve ? 5.00 New Rider ............. Hopefully Mikkel Michelsen at reserve would be tempted in ... leaving 5.55 for the last place ..... Craig Cook 5.52 ? ... Daniel Nermark 5.37 ? 4.98 Patrick Hougaard .......... As above ! ...... (Struggling and going bacwards at BV and goes well at Wolves .... Maybe a swap loan deal with Nicolai who will be living in Leeds with his girlfriend who is at University there) OUT; 5.68 Nicolai Klindt ............ struggled in recent times and hopefully will get back on line elsewhere in 2013
  15. MIKKEL MICHELSEN ..... I have no inside information or proof that he is a possible starter for Wolves in 2013. It's just his name came up a few times during the season (and last) and CVS and Pete Adams have stated before that they have a couple of riders signed up but wouldn't say who. ...... There are a few that have a feeling he is one of these. .... If he is no longer a 4.00 rider, it could be difficult to fit him in, but even on a 5.00 I would take the chance if we can.
  16. 8.80 Tai Woffinden 8.68 Fredrik Lindgren 6.25 Edward Kennett 5.81 Robert Miskowiak 5.79 Ricky Wells leaves 7.17 4.00 Mikkel Michelsen !!! 3.15 Pontus Aspgren Let Jacob go on loan for a year in the Premier League and use him when Pontus unavailable. Think Eddie will be at Eastbourne (or Poole) though
  17. In many ways I agree about Adam (6.57) as he is a hero on and off the track, wins races when you need him too and is a steady rock in the team that again will be quite young and the perfect person to be captain ..... if he is included. HOWEVER .... As much as I like Adam, I think there MAY be better options available on the same average. Simon Gustafsson 6.44 would be my first choice but with Kylmakorpi and Bridger moving out of Eastbourne, its unlikely they will want him to move on aswell. Then there is Kenni Larsen 6.57 at Coventry. Many of the Bees fans were not too pleased with his scores last year and with Bees rebuilding, will he be loaned out for a season ? I would think he is more likely to be named in the Bees line up, but with Roynon, Summers and Szcepaniak already named, they wont have enough room for Harris, Nicholls, Barker and Kenni. Mads Korneliussen 6.70 is another that could be an ideal back up man. Still young and has shown up well at Monmore a number of times and good on the big tracks too. Will he be back at Kings Lynn or return to parent club, Swindon. Also did well at Peterborough in the past so if he is available there could be a few willing to sign him. 8.80 Tai Woffinden, 8.68 Fredrik Lindgren and 5.79 Ricky Wells are all but certain to be in the top five, leaving 19.23 for the remaing four places. Pontus Aspgren 3.15 was getting better and better as the 2012 season came to an end and at reserve could be a trump card. Jacob Thorssell 3.00 started as a novice but like Pontus he got better and better, but is he ready for a full time EL place ? ...... At least one of them will be back at reserve, so if its Pontus to return, it leaves 16.08 for three places. Add Jacob and its 13.08 for two places ...... but if they went for a balanced team with a strong reserve, you could fit in Kli ndt 5.61 and Proctor 5.53 into the main body of the team and have 4.94 left for a stronger reserve or use Skornicki and Klindt 5.61 or Proctor 5.53 and bring back Ludvig Lindgren 3.74 who at reserve would be an ideal partner for Pontus or Jacob .... if its Jacob at #7 you can add Miskowiak to possible signings alongside Adam. 1 = Adam, Miskowiak, Ludvig (res) and Jacob (res) 2 = Adam, Klindt/Proctor, Ludvig (res) and Pontus (res) 3 = Klindt, Proctor, Hougaard (res) and Jacob (res) 4 = Larsen, Gustafsson, Aspgren (res) and Jacob (res) ....... best 1-7 but unlikely
  18. You can only use TWO riders from last seasons (2012) top 20 Green Sheet Averages 9.76 Darcy Ward # ............ is it Poole or nowhere !! 9.67 Chris Holder # (Poole) 8.84 Neils K Iversen # (Kings Lynn) 8.80 Tai Woffinden # (Wolves) 8.68 Fredrik Lindgren # (Wolves) 8.61 Peter Karlsson (Lakeside) 8.39 Krzysztof Kasprzak # ........... will he be back ? 8.21 Adrian Meidzinski ........... will he be back ? 8.18 Hans Andersen ( ? ) 8.18 Kenneth Bjerre (Peterborough) 8.06 Davey Watt (Lakeside) 7.94 Troy Batchelor (Swindon) 7.91 Chris Harris (Coventry) 7.87 Linus Sundstrom (Peterborough) 7.82 Scott Nicholls (Coventry) 7.72 Ryan Sullivan ............... will he be back ? 7.56 Joonas Kylmakorpi ........ not riding in England 7.47 Daniel King (Birmingham) 7.35 Bjarne Pedersen ( ? ) 7.33 Rory Schlein ( ? ) ----------------------------- 7.10 Sebastian Ulamek 7.02 Charlie Gjedde So Wolves cant use Tai, Freddie and Schlein ..... in fact Coventry cant use Harris, Nicholls and Schlein .... but Poole could use Holder and Ward !! What happens to any rider that wasn't riding here last year like Nicki Pedersen 8.63 .... he isn't in the Top 20 ? Personally I would now look at something like ..... Woffinden, Lindgren, Bridger, Wells*, Proctor*, Michelsen and Aspgren*. (* D/Up) Get Jacob Thorssell lined up at a PL club and use him when Pontus is unavailable. If Wells or Proctor are not available, use Auty, Roynon etc
  19. So after getting an official word on the ruling, a team as up to THREE doubling up riders ..... however instead of sharing the role with another rider, this time if they are missing the only replacement is a PL guest !! Sounds ok until you look at what COULD happen. If all three are missing at the same time, a team could .... NOTE... COULD consist of three PL guests and r/r"
  20. Points limit: 42.50 Doubling-up positions: These have been set at a maximum of three per team for 2013, with ONE rider named in each position. A Premier League guest will be utilised in the absence of a doubling-up rider. Does this means Wolves could have Ricky Wells, Ty Proctor and Pontus Aspgren as doubling up riders but if they miss a meeting they can only be replaced by a PL guest ?
  21. It's been on the cards for sometime and reading the artice with Nigel Pearson in the Speedway Star, it makes it look very likely .. not defnate or fact ... that the Dudley Heathans will line up in the 2013 Premier League. With Adam Roynon 7.07, Tom Perry 3.53 and Ashley Morris 3.00 the main riders for them in the NL, it would be a suprise if these three were not included. With Gary Patchett and Chris Van Straaten involved then assets from Swindon and Wolves could fill the top places. Simon Stead 9.58 would be an ideal #1 and double up with Nick Morris at Swindon while Ricky Wells 6.47 rides for Wolves at the same track and his main sponsor is the Dudley team sponsor also. This should still leave enough space for Pontus Aspgren 5.25 and a sub 7 point rider (Ludvig Lindgren maybe) to complete the team. POSSIBLE 2013 Dudley Heathans ... 1 - Simon Stead 2 - Pontus Aspgren 3 - Adam Roynon 4 - Ludvig Lindgren 5 - Ricky Wells 6 - Tom Perry 7 - Ashley Morris NOTE; This is just a view and not claiming any to be in place or fact.
  22. March 23: New Zealand FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Auckland, New Zealand April 20: European FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Bydgoszcz, Poland May 4: Fogo Swedish FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Gothenburg, Sweden May 18: Mitas Czech Republic FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Prague, Czech Republic June 1: British FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Cardiff, Great Britain June 15: Gorzow FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland – Gorzow, Poland June 29: Danish FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Copenhagen, Denmark August 3: Fogo Italian FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Terenzano, Italy August 17: Latvian FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Daugavpils, Latvia September 7: Slovenian FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Krsko, Slovenia September 21: Scandinavian FIM Speedway Grand Prix – Stockholm, Sweden October 5: Torun FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland – Torun, Poland Definately doing Cardiff as normal but going to try and target Gothenburg, Gorzow, Krsko and Torun as possibles to watch Freddie and Tai against 13+1 top riders. ... Torun looks like being the big one with about 10 in a group hiting the town
  23. Don't put Michelsen as a certainty .. just a feeling he may have been lined up The teams I have posted have been how it COULD look with POPSSIBLE signings. With riders doubling up not riding in a foreign league, it would mean its unlikely Aspgren and Thorssell with be doing the PL and EL. .... If Wolves go with a strong reserve, then one of these would be riding elsewhere on loan ..... Poole may need low averaging riders if they keep Holder and Ward and Poole were impressed with him this season .... not saying its a fac but just a possibility if Wolves opt for a strong reserve. You had him last .... you keep hm be a good replacement for MJJ Could start as a #1 or heat leader there ====================================== Will be interesting to see how many doublng up riders there are nex season with riders like Kennett, Bridger, Stead, Wells, Proctor, Fisher, Cook etc etc possibly wanting to ride in both leagues. Would be happy with Bridger / Fisher and Wells / Proctor at Wolves ..... one meeting Stars n Stripes then Hang Tight the next !
  24. Woffinden, Lindgren, Schlein, Wells/Proctor, Klindt, Aspgren, Thorssell. This team listed is different to last years team as it has 3 recognised heat leaders and two good second strings while the reserves have a years experience and Pontus has shown in the last month or so he could be a bargain in 2013 but unlikely to find himself stuck at #2 again. It has balance but most importantly potential with Freddie, Rory and Pontus sure to improve while Ricky was averaging around seven at the end of last season while Nicolai should be back to 6+. Last season it was a big gamble on two new riders and Ricky improving while the top two needed to do their job. Out of these only Ricky did his part and while Tai improved, he was out injured for some time while Freddie had some nightmare meetings. Frankly it would be a great team, but I have doubts if it will happen and wouldn't be suprised to see Ricky doubling up with someone and Ty doubling up with someone else while Nicolai goes out on loan again. Jacob going on loan to a PL team (or Poole) and the last two places going to a 4.00 rider (Michelsen) and a six point rider like Kennett, Janowski, Bridger or most likely Miskowiak. So the team I think is more likely but not as solid if the limit is 42.50 is ... Woffinden, Lindgren, Miskowiak, Wells/?, Proctor/?, Michelsen, Aspgren .......... Doubling up partners Bridger ?, Nermark ?, Stead ?, Howe ?, Wolbert ?..... maybe even Nicolai but cant see him not riding abroad.
