  1. Must admit the way things are looking at other tracks a more balanced team looks better especially if one is out injured as rider replacement would be the best option most times as four of the 8 teams are likely to be riding the same night. Ricky Wells and Robert Lambert with the three already signed would be a great top five and leave 6.08 for the last two which could be Jack Parkinson Blackburn at seven and Broc Nicol or Luke Becker at six Masters Howarth Wells Schlein Lambert Becker JPB
  2. New promotion so unable to vote even though Mark Lemon was there Poole voted against it with Wolves and Swindon
  3. It was only Premiership clubs that voted on it and 4 voted for it and three against it with Aces unable to vote
  4. Thinking about the situation at number one and how other teams will be affected by the loss of a TV deal there is a third option that may be more beneficial to the club and league. Both Freddie and Jacob are great riders but both have to be flown in and out due to Polish and Sweden fixtures but going with a more balanced team if riders based here could be the way to go and considering how others may line up. So with Sam Masters Rory Schlein Ricky Wells and Kyle Howarth you have four solid scorers and 13.47 left for the last three. This could mean more strength in depth and should rider replacement ever be required less damage obtained. 1 Sam Masters 7.92 2 Kyle Howarth 6.64 3 4 Ricky Wells 6.75 5 Rory Schlein 7.72 6 7 King 6.66 Becker 4.00 Greaves 2.54 Erik Riss 5.75 Starke 5.08 Greaves 2.54 Erik Riss 5.75 Stu Robson 5.72 JPB 2.00
  5. If Piotr Pawlicki can be tempted back now he is put of the GP circus he has to be bought in as he is certainly a rider that can improve and be one off the best in the league. As for Jacob or Freddie it's a tough call but really both are a gamble as they both will be coming back from bad injuries and regardless of anything that they say about being ready to practice, they could take time to comeback to the level they finished on. Fully fit and ready to go both have points that make them the one to fill the number one position but Freddie has to be the one you want to win that vital race as a tactical switch. Disappointed that the switch back to a tactical substitute next season can only be done once. It should be whenever you want after heat 4 and not have to wait for the one race gamble.
  6. Rumour is that Glasgow and Ipswich are moving up and tracks will mainly have ho.e race nights but some can switch to the other if required MONDAY'S Belle Vue Wolverhampton Poole Leicester Glasgow THURSDAY'S Kings Lynn Ipswich Somerset Swindon Rye House 41 point limit still seems most likely but will BT still be filming on Mondays ?
  7. Well Leicester seem to be ready to unveil a big name to join Vaculik and now they are under new owners since he was last there they certainly need a big name. Ipswich apparently looking at moving up with Andersen Nicholls and King as a possible top three and they can keep their Thursday's race night. Kings Lynn however really need to find some riders and Iversen has already signed up in Sweden Denmark and Poland so he looks to be out of the running so could Doyle be their target to lead the team
  8. Well Fredrik Lindgren has signed for Czestochowa and Jacob Thorssell has signed up again at Zielona Gora and have it on good authority that both should be fit for next season and certainly in the team plans once everything is known after the AGM this weekend. Going to be hard to release two at least from last year's team as the limit looks like being 41 and at the end Wolves were on 47.44 so sadly changes have to be made. Could Piotr Pawlicki be one for a return to Britain but will it be at Wolves ?
  9. Three Polish riders shortlisted for a Poole line up for next year and two Auusies. Good they keep the flag flying 😎
  10. The rule Poland are bringing in about taking away consent to any rider riding abroad is different to what is in place now as this means they can now recall a rider for a practice session or meeting sponsors but at present it's just about a scheduled league fixture There will be.modification to their list as Woffy and others will get the ones that concern them altered but can't see why they would change this one so signing Vaculik Holder Doyle could be a risky choice. Should have gone with one big league that is affordable for everyone which would have stopped all this doubling up and given a more varied fixtures list plus developing British youngsters.
  11. Going on the non movement in Poland for Freddie and Jacob I would guess that their injuries are of such they may take 12 months to be fit and therefore possibly out of any team plans here and there until given the all clear. Sam Masters 7.92 Rory Schlein 7.72 and Kyle Howarth 6.64 should be able to return and this would need another big hitter to be signed and if Piotr Pawlicki can be tempted by the fixed race nights then he would be the ideal signing. Going on a possible 41 point limit this would leave enough for Nathan Greaves 2.54 to return at reserve and leave 8.86 for the last two. Ricky Wells 6.74 and a 2.00 like Jack Parkinson Blackburn would be a decent coupke of signings or go with the Broc Nicol and Luke Becker combination giving a bit more at reserve. Sam Masters Kyle Howarth Ricky Wells (Nicol) Rory Schlein Piotr Pawlicki Nathan Greaves JPB (Becker) Tai Woffinden ended 2014 on 7.03 and his return in 2016 moved that up to 8.63 but highly unlikely to return to racing here any time soon unless the latest developments in Poland are not resolved
  12. One big league would have sorted the issues that need addressing but it looks like they are going to change very little in the end
  13. Well Woryna we known is at Poole next season so maybe swap with Laser Bjerre but it shows a decent team that is affordable can be built Just got to find a track for the Bees now 🙄 Wolves should get an extra 5 for being unlucky 😁
  14. As Wolves don't have many assets left now on this list, here are my two possible teams depending on the availability of Jacob Thorssell. Jacob Thorssell 8.64 Rory Sclein 7.56 Kyle Howarth 6.64 Luke Bekker 4.00 Simon Lambert 3.24 Nathan Greaves 2.54 JPB 2.00 34.62 Rory Schlein 7.56 Robert Lambert 7.36 Kyle Howarth 6.64 Thomas Jorgensen 5.85 Max Clegg 3.00 Nathan Greaves 2.54 JPB or Kyle Buckley 2.00 34.95
  15. 2018 - 35 POINT LIMIT - ONE LEAGUE PICK A TEAM FOR FUN This is not to debate if it's one league, two leagues or any other system, it is however ONE possible way forward so just pick a team using these limits. BOTH RESERVES must be National League riders. That means an average of 3.99 or lower OR British and under 21. The number seven has to have an average of 3.00 or lower and both reserves stay at 6 and 7 all season. If you pick three riders under 3.99 then the lowest two elsewhere be at reserve and the third one can drop to reserve but otherwise reserves stay reserves NO GP RIDERS apart from Craig Cook ..... This is because Tai won't ride in a league on various nights doing nearly 40 meetings ..... Lindgren, Doyle etc will be committed more to the Gps, Sweden and Poland and are possibly the biggest earners here and some only use Britain to gain a works visa ----------------------- Previously posted elsewhere ..... JUST FOR FUN Without doubt the doubling up issue has become the biggest problem in British Speedway with riders being unavailable and more guests having to be used to cover but having set nights won't cure this in all and if they struggle to get 17 fixtures complete before, how are they going to do This is a suggestion, not what the powers to be are bringing in ....... Listed below are the current averages for riders and for those with averages in both leagues, the lowest average has been used. The calculation between leagues used is simply to drop 1.00 for a Championship rider getting their Premiership average, so for example CL rider on 7.43 has a 6.43 PL average. The averages added up and divided by 18 tracks means there is enough riders to fill all tracks with SIX riders to complete under the 33.00 point limit and the last team place will be a protected 2.00 National League rider. There is no GP riders included unless British when calculating the averages, so only Craig Cook is used in the totalling up in a season Britain seriously needs to rebuild and offer fans a more varied and reasonably priced package without having to pay the large amounts the remaining few require that only a few tracks can afford to pay. Also not included are 7.79 Zengota, 6.95 KK, 6.43 Gomolski 8.87 Nick Morris 8.64 Jacob Thorssell 8.48 Kenneth Bjerre 8.45 Craig Cook 8.08 Brady Kurtz 7.75 Hans Andersen 7.63 Troy Batchelor 7.58 Rory Schlein 7.56 Sam Masters 7.43 Scott Nicholls 7.39 Max Fricke 7.37 David Bellego 7.37 Tobias Musielak 7.36 Rob Lambert 7.34 Josh Grajczonek 7.26 Chris Harris 7.26 Richie Worrall 7.13 Kim Nilsson 7.00 Aaron Spud Summers 6.77 Steve Worrall 6.74 Ricky Wells 6.66 Daniel King 6.64 Kyle Howarth 6.49 Nico Covatti 6.47 Timo Lahti 6.47 Charles Wright 6.43 Richard Lawson 6.39 Edward Kennett 6.38 Ty Proctor 6.32 Jason Garrity 6.18 Rohan Tungate 6.10 Lasse Bjerre 6.09 Patrick Hoogaard 6.08 Benjamin Barker 6.00 Kacper Woryna 6.00 QUALITY NEW FOREIGN RIDER 5.94 Ludvig Lindgren 5.91 Phillipe Berge 5.85 Thomas Jorgensen 5.82 Jack Holder 5.80 Claus Vissing 5.78 Nicolai Klindt 5.78 Ulrich Ostergaard 5.75 Erik Riss 5.74 Scott Robson 5.74 Kenneth Hansen 5.68 Kai Huckenbeck 5.64 Justin Sedgeman 5.59 Lewis Bridger 5.56 Adam Ellis 5.55 Jonas B Andersson 5.52 Josh Bates 5.50 Nicolai B Jakobsen 5.36 Kevin Doolan 5.25 Lewis Rose 5.25 Cameron Heeps 5.20 Michael Speedy Palm Toft 5.18 David Howe 5.08!Paul Starke 5.07 Jake Allen 5.06 Lewis Jessie Kerr 5.00 NEW FOREIGN RIDER 4.90 Nike Lunna 4.86 Kyle Newman 4.74 Benji Compton 4.73 Nick Porsing 4.71 Dan Bewley 4.69 Mark Riss 4.67 Bradley Wilson-Dean 4.64 Thomas H Jonasson 4.50 Josh Auty 4.39 Todd Kurtz 4.12 Adam Roynon 4.11 Dan Gappmaier 4.10 Jan Graversen 4.06 Jay Etheridge 4.06 Tino Aarnio 4.00 NEW AMERICAN / AUSSIE RIDERS 4.00* Thomas Busch 4.00* Theo Pjiper ------ All British and Commonwealth below ---- ------ All eligible for NL matches ----- 3.97 Carl Wilkinson 3.74 Matt Williamson 3.72 Ashley Morris 3.67 Joe Jacobs 3.49 Ellis Perks 3.35 Robert Branford 3.24 Simon Lambert 3.24 Danny Ayres 3.21 Zach Wajneicht 3.12 Ben Morley 3.00 Max Clegg 2.95 James Shanes 2.54 Nathan Greaves 2.20 James Sarjeant 2.33 Connor Miuntain 2.02 Mitchell Davey 2.00 NATIONAL LEAGUE RIDERS 18 teams gives you 17 home and 17 away meeting for the league plus you could run a three group series of six teams to give you a further 5 home and 5 away meetings. There is no doubling up apart from NL riders so no clash of dates as happens in two leagues and ALL riders must commit to British Speedway over other leagues apart from their home nation and FIM events where guest or RR faculty will be allowed. Using these figures as a reference use one reserve has to be a 2.00 rider and the other six under 33, see how you would build your team. As a Wolves fan, this really hits them hard as assets have got olde or riding abroad leaving not many here now, but this is done with British Speedway in mind, not the good of one club but for all overall
  16. I have an apartment reserved in the centre of Torun for four days but now only need it for two days (Friday and Saturday) as plans have changed. Is there anyone looking for a place to stay in Torun as it's pretty much full elsewhere and don't mind sharing two days as it's a big apartment . It's booked for the Sunday And Monday also and as a top graded accomodation it's not that expensive and right in the heart of the city. Anyone looking and interested post below before Wednesday night.

  18. Firstly Poland are throwing their weight about but what can you do about it. If Jacob didn't turn up for this fixture he could face The sack and a possible ban but let's not forget we knew this was coming. When Poland got the British teams to sign an agreement that they got priorities over riders it opened the flood gates but also Britain should have gone into this season without the big names of Doyle Holder and yes I will include Lindgren and built one.big league to rebuild from the bottom and get regular teams back instead of all this doubling up. Riders like Cook Garrity King even down.to Ellis or Bates would have to look at getting places abroad like Worrall brothers have and to be fair Ellis did last week. TONIGHT it looked like Wolves were going to be hit for six with rr replacing Howarth but with Jacob now missing Barker is a good guest for Kyle and all the top four can have an extra ride gives them a decent team and now with Cooke out it should be a close call.
  19. Well Done to Latvia getting through at the expense of the Danes who in Nielsen have a good manager but the writing has been on the wall for a while as they are all struggling in the leagues and competitions. Latvia had Lebedeves on fire but they all played their part and Taransenko for Russia did well. Just think what they could have done had Artem Laguta been in the team aswell. These riders like Poudzuks Tarasenko Bogdanovs etc all compete in Poland and have tough meetings to prepare for these sorts of meetings which will benefit Steve and Richie Worrall and while Cook really needed to find a team in the top level he has signed for Bydgozsz and already pulled out of meetings which won't go down well. As I will be at the final but missing the race off I hope Russia get through so get to see Emil and Grigory in action again.
  20. So after meeting at the NSS on Monday this is the best they can come up with after messing it up at the start. Shame teams are not keeping the number seven and bringing in an experienced rider
  21. It's a results based sport .... So a rider averaging under 5 is doing better than a 7+ rider 😐 Shame as they chased Justin and the rider struggling most seems to be Max Fricke but like a few others he has a bargain average. Sad to see some clubs are releasing the lowest reserve now new averages are in effect.
  22. Embarrassing for Leicester and new averages are in effect for Wolves few before anyone else now they have done four home and four away. Well some have any way Think it was 57-33 don't think they hit 60
