Firstly he was keen to ride for Wolves in 2013 as cover for Procor but couldn't ..... now Wolves have a clear run to talk to him as he has said he would be keen to ride in England again. Having ridden last season with Tai, I think he would know that the cub is run better than most and would like to ride alongside the current World Champion ..... so why not Wolves ? As for Ricky ......... why would ANY team use two doubling up riders (Wells/Morris) at the same Premier League team (Workington) ?

Don't panic about Tai signing. I'm sure a deal will be sorted soon and Tai will be wearing the #1 race jacket in 2014 at Wolverhampton (& Vetlanda & Wroclaw ad the GP's) ...... but if he doesn't sign I think you would see Freddie back so they are confident about having a top #1 rider either way. Kings Lynn have declared a team that is too top heavy in my opiion while Belle Vue look better even carrying a 3 point rider in the main body of the team. However if Wolves start with Thorssell and Ljung s their lowest two riders in the main body, they will be taking points in the races involving the reserves and second strings and could suprise a few. Eastbourne look to have a good team that is solid from 1-5 even if I don't rate Bjarne as a top rider but with Kylmakorpi, Woodward, Gustafsson and Michelsen as back up they have a main body that will not get beaten at home and in Lewis Blackbird they have a rider that will score in the lower heats and with a few away points, a well balanced team can do enough to be play off contenders If Wolves strt with Tai, Adam, Ty, Ljung and Jacob they won't look strong but don't write them of just yet as the reserves will be scoring ok and that could be important away from Monmore
-
At first glance the Kings Lynn team looks good, but then I was thinking about it an wondered what they would be like under certain cirumstances. If they have to use R/R for Schlein, that gives Bjerre an extra ride but the bottom four would now have 19 outings between them. The reserves may do well in their heats but will the bottom four be able to get 20+ points possibly needed ? One of the strengths of the KL team is their reserves. How would they cope if Lewis Kerr was missing from a meeting as I think he should be good for 6 points most matches. If Porsing and Lambert are struggling, they will find it hard to get 49 points to get all three points even at home and away they may struggle to get over 40. Good looking team, but I think it may be too top heavy and think Belle Vue look better at present and if Eastbourne get Michelsen and Gustafsson, even they look better ith a more balanced team

Kennett is doubling up and I dont think Barker has signed for a PL team yet. If BB does sign for a PL team and one of the reserves also rides for a PL team, what happens if the other reserve gets offered a PL place after the season has started ? Does he have to reject the offer because Brummies already have 3 doubling up riders ?
-
So Birmingham are going to be Coventry B Team again ..... Barker - Kennett - Auty ..... shame they missed out on Scotty and let go of Bomber and Smoli !! Can't see Brummies challenging in 2014 ...... but they are not the only ones
-
Would be nice ...... but MJJ is unlikely to be riding in England in a season of 36 league meetings on various race nights. Same as Kolodiej and Ljung ....... nice but unlikely hence SKORNICKI !!
-
He did 5 home and 2 away league meetings scoring 52 (54) +10 points from 37 rides giving him an average of 5.62 (6.70) but remains a 5.00 assessed rider Bjarne obviously did a good job for them last season and Woodward is Mr Eastbourne but I fully expected Michelsen along with Gustafsson or Lahti to also be included in next seasons line up leaving 7.37 or 7.74 for the last place so Kylmakorpi fits in that billing so it may be much the same yet again at Arlington but it's not a bad team, especially a home ..... but away ?

Have to say Ricky Kling always rode well at Monmore Green but Wolves have Pontus Aspgren on 4.04 who would be a much better addition to the team IF Wolves were looking for a four point rider and an eight plus heat leader. However I would be suprised if Wolves are going to be looking in that direction otherwise PK would have been signed up weeks ago. It now looks more likely they are going for more strength in depth and trying to build a team with Jacob Thorssell 4.61 as he lowest ranked rider in the starting 1-5. Can't see Eastbourne not wanting Mikkel Michelsen 5.00 back as he is clearly a class act and better than his assessed average. With the Eagles now having 9.64 left for the last two places, they can't fit in Michelsen and Gustafsson 5.17 and think Gustafsson is a rider that can excel at a new track and I labelled him and Scott Nicholls as a paring that would have been good signings for next season. With Nicholls however now at Belle Vue, there isn't really and seven point riders around now and Wolves would now be better off going with another of my prefered choices in Skornicki and Zengota to make a more solid line up than a top heavy one. It may not be everyone's prefered pairings (stevebrum) ..... but is there any better combination around to fill the last two places ? Also it would be a risk for any team to feature doubling up riders in their 1-5 unless they are a heat leader like Doyle. Ricky Wells has done a great job at Wolves since arriving but it would be crazy to field a team that included two riders that featured in the same Premier League team and therefore can't see him featuring for Wolves next season. There is however one rider that I think could feature in the Wolves team alongside Skornicki instead of Zengota. When Ty Proctor was injured, Wolves spoke to Peter Ljung 5.60 who was keen to come over but Lakeside said they wanted him and he wasn't keen on riding for them again so he never came. Now he has publically stated he would be interested in riding in England next season and with Lakeside already complete, Wolves would have a clear path to strike up a deal with Ljung who since gaining that average has ridden in the GP's and scored well for Sweden in the WTC aswell as backing up Tai at Wroclaw last season. On such an average he would also be classed as a second string and feature in some races with and against the new reserve picked riders Skornicki 6.14 with Zengota 6.15 or Ljung 5.60

The name is TNT ........ not DYNAMO !! Weird thing is, I would actually feel more confident of Sam doing more on a 4.00 than Nicolai on 4.24
-
In 2012 they tried the TACTICAL RUN OFF in the KO Cup matches which in some cases was ok, but in some it was pointless as any team that as losing nominated a rider to take on Darcy Ward or Freddie Lindgren etc At the time I made the suggestion to Pete Adams that maybe a better idea would have been for the losing team to nominate a rider to face the opposing teams equivalent rider. ..... So Wolves could in effect nominate Jacob Thorssell (#5) to take on Kyle Howarth (#5) ..... or Joe Jacobs (#7) to take on James Sarjeant (#7) This may not be great but at least it provides possibly two extra races and the losing team gets to use the inform rider when they want and it doesn't rely on top riders making up the defecit.
-
Mads Korneliussen 6.97 and Ricky Wells 5.35 = Mads is decent but Adam is more reliable in my opinion and with Ricky I can't see any team having two riders doubling up at the same PL team. ... So maybe a new 5.00 instead ? Gregorz Zengota 6.15 and Adam Skornicki 6.14 = Both consistant sorers and along with Ty form a three strong back up to Tai with Jacob coming up the rails fast. Tomasz Gollob 9.27 and Lukasz Sowka 3.00 = Gollob has quit the GP's so maybe looks at Monmore Green as a replacement and Sowka comes along under his guidance to show his Polish form ....... OR ...... Emil Sayfutdinov 8.00 and Sam Ermolenko 4.00* = Maybe Emil misses his short spell in England and as he is teaming up with Tai in Sweden they can fly out together while Sam can't keep off the bike and reassesed at 4.00 should be about right for a 53 year old legend
-
I said they looked favourites to sign him after someone else stated he was having talks with Wolves and when it was announced at roughly the same time that PK was staying at Lakeside it certainly looked as he would be possibly signing. Sadly (in my opinon) he has joined Leicester and not Wolves as he is a very good second heat leader and has always done well at Monmore Green ..... but it's not to be and the hunt for the last two goes on with one of my favourites being Zengota and Skornicki still possible (maybe !!)
-
The fact he had talks with Wolves and tweeted soon after that he has sorted out his British contracts points mainly at Wolves and possibly the only reason it hasn't been announced is they want to get Tai on board and announce the full team. Should there be any problems signing Tai (which I firmly believe he will be back) then Wolves would have 14.31 for the last two ....... but most likely it looks like there is 5.11 for the final place and while I hope it's someone like Vaclav Milik, there are other riders available that will do a good job as a second string. 1 Tai Woffinden 2 Jason Doyle 3 Ty Proctor 4 ? 5 Jacob Thorssell 6 Ashley Morris 7 Joe Jacobs Certainly a team that will be hard to beat around Monmore Green. ...... Away ?
-
The press release about Batchelor staying at Swindon says he can lead from the front ...... Does that indicate he will be #1 and Kildemand won't be back ? Rosco indicated that Mads K may be in their plans so aybe he is heading back to Blunsdon and they won't use Doyle who will be at Somerset alongside Morris. Doyle would certainly fit in well at Wolves and provide good backing to Tai but there are other tracks like Leicester, Kings Lynn and even Birmingham and Swindon that can fit him in at present .... but Wolves look favourites Thinking about it , Wolves may be best not having another doubling up rider for the final place which could point to Kevin Wolbert 5.04, a new 5.00 rider, Timo Lahti 4.80 or even Nicolai Klindt 4.24
-
The Premier League team gets priority over the rider regardless of who owns them. With both reserves possibly being involved in a PL team, having more than one more doubling up rider could be a concern. It also points towards a major concern if an EL team has two riders that also ride for the same PL team and can't remember it ever happening before ..... if it is allowed in the first place ? Can't see any team having two riders therefore it does seem to point towards Jason Doyle riding elsewhere in the Elite League and with Coventry and Belle Vue already out of the equation, anting away from Birmingham and Lakeside riding on a friday, you would have to say it's more likely he is at Wolves or a return to Poole.
-
Very good looking team but there is one thing that looks worrying about having a three point rider in the main body. If Richie Worrall is missing and they use R/R then only Scott will get a ride and the rest will be from the three weak (average) riders which is hardly cover for a near 6 point rider. Overall though Belle Vue look impressive and it's nice to see them all but sorted way before Christmas. ...... As for team manager, if they can get Phil Morris it would be a good move, especially if he gets the Team GB job to boot.
-
Have to admit that I don't like the idea of such a key rider doubling up as it can be a major problem when they are missing, especially away so I can see why they may be going with Kildemand 8.25, Batchelor 8.21 and Morris 5.90. That would leave 9.64 for the last two places which should be enough to cover the second string places. Ricky Wells 5.35 looks to be available from Wolves but tend to agree that Simon Gustafsson 5.17 would be a better option if he is available from Eastbourne as he needs a change of track and could be a bargain and leave enough for Lasse Bjerre 4.28 maybe. Whichever way they go you can be sure Swindon will be up there again and in the play offs. Hopefully Jason Doyle will find a different team to ride for soon
-
Tyson isn't intetested in riding in Britain while Sowka was under so much pressure last time from his Polish track he was a shadow of the rider we thought he could be but it's unlikely he or Wolves would want him to sign up. The last place will be of little importance with a top four like that but a few names that may be worth consideration are Linus Eklof and Mattheiu Tresarrieu or Kyle Legault ? Think Nielsen may be getting a few extra rides in 2014 if the last signing struggles
-
Would love to see Jason Doyle at Wolves as he is entertaining, good team man and a good scorer home and away and his time at Swindon, Birmingham and Poole could prove to be valueable It leaves 5.11 if Doyle did sign and you would hope that would mean a 5.00 rider like Vaclav Milik etc however when you look at the averages there is one name that sticks out and NOT for the right reasons. 5.11 left ....... On a 5.11 average is Robert Misk0000wiak ...... ARRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH !!
-
Have to say that Coventry have done well early on with Andersen and Bomber and Kenneth Hansen obviously goes well at Brandon. Then you have Ryan Fisher who battles for every point and with first pick in the draft, they are looking good with 5.30 left for the last signing. No disrespect to Kyle Howarth, but I'm suprised they have signed a 4.28 rider when they could have signed someone like Daniel Nermark 5.27, Simon Gustafsson 5.17 or even Bees asset, Josh Auty 4.90. I'm sure Kyle will be a decent signing but leaving over a point to use is weird as they could have even used Rory Schlein instead of Kenneth Hansen. Still a decent line up but it looks like there will be quite a few powerful teams around and actually think Kings Lynn could be the main contenders if they have Iversen, Mads, Rory, Porsing and a 5+ rider with Lewis Kerr at reserve.
-
If Aces are thinking of bringing Matej Zagar back then they would only have 3.18 left for the last rider. Would they be hoping Ashley Birks 3.06 is going to be fit or is there a plan to use a PL rider (upto 5.30) to double up ? With Patrik Hougaard as an asset and (possibly) Ricky Wells always good around Kirky Lane then that would be a more solid line up
-
In 2015 you will go with their PL average. So if Lewis Kerr averages 7.77 in the PL then his EL average is assessed from that figure. Whoever picks Lewis Kerr (Kings Lynn) will get the last pick Whoever picks Jason Garrity (Coventry maybe ?) get the 19th pick The order continues so the team with the lowest ranked first pick will get the first pick in the second round. Teams do not have to pick a rider from the Top 10 and a team like Leicester may opt to pick the 11th ranked rider in the first pick in order to get the first pick in the second draft which should be a rider in the top ten. Will Speedway Updates ? Twitter ? or Facebook ? be giving these out as they happen ?
-
If he was a Kings Lynn asset, then surely in the draft list it would be pointed out that KL own him and have a choice of using him as their first pick instead of Kerr. As he isn't listed as having an EL parent club like Kerr, Morris, Newman and Ellis then he is available to any club hat decides to take him on and Kings Lynn don't have a say in it. That would seem to point out that he never signed on as an asset but merely a temporary contract to ride for that season. Maybe he is an asset but Kings Lynn have declared they only want protection on Kerr to ensure he rides for them.
-
Has never signed a full contract in the PL or EL so therefore isn't an asset. Ludvig Lindgren rode a number of meetings for Wolves before Brummies signed him on a full contract.
-
Darcy set to start as #1 then next season, what is the situation regarding Magic, Zorro, THJ and Dyer ? 9.07 Darcy Ward 4.48 Josh Grajzonek add 6.95 Maciej Janowski and there is 11.52 remaining 6.84 Rory Schlein + Rohan Tungate 4.59 ? 6.39 Edward Kennett + 4.98 Magnus Zetterstrom ?
