  1. When he is told by his Polish c;ub he is wanted back there then there is little he can do but be there. The fact is that he WANTS to ride for Wolves at Leicester .......... but HAS to ride in the qualifier
  2. Firstly, there was going to be a track grade anyway, so a break was inevitable but can't remember it really raining ? Was speaking to Piotr last night during the meeting and he was saying how he enjoys the track and where he has found areas that are good for passing. The conversation started when Paul Starke won heat 9 and he was suprised to hear that he wasn't exactly a sping chicken but still rides in the "junior" level leagues. He mentioned about the World U21's and how he has to do these qualifiers. He said that he has a Polish U21 qualifier at Opole but has been trying to get out of it and ride at Leicester. Basically it sounds like an early round where he will be against some very weak young riders and has asked to be seeded through like Patryk Dudek was last season. I wouldn't worry about him missing many meetings for Wolves as he is clearly loving it over here and has a formed a great friendship with Tai and has spent time with him on the track and off it in order to improve as much as he can. He certainly seems to be a very ambitious lad and is looking forward to the season ahead with Wolves and is still trying to get a reply to his request to get seeded to the next round. His record so far is pretty good with a 9.60 average and signs are looking good for him to improve on his starting average.
  3. Cold night but it was a warm welcome for the home fans to see the team click together from the start and even when they didn't gate, they made light work of getting to the front with Piotr Pawlicki looking like a track expert already and easily made his way to the front to complete a fine paid 15 maximum. He has a great partnership with Tai after lots of practice together they are already showing signs they can be a deadly partnership this season and if they get the backing, Wolves could supride a few. Jacob Thorssell looked very good and when he was beaten it wasn't by much while Ricky Wells was equally as good and both paid for 10 points. Any doubts over Ty Proctor were put to bed early on with a hard fought 5+1 from his first three before falling while third in his final ride. Maybe being at home helped, but he certainly showed enough here to also be considered for a #1 in the Premier League !!! In the reserves, I fully expected Ashley Morris to be the main one, but Joe Jacobs was the main scorer and won heat two by the length of the straight. Ash admitted to being nervous but time will help and Ty Proctor was close by to keep his chin up and overall it shows up well that Wolves are going to be very difficult to beat at home. Away may be a different story and the trip to Leicester on March 29th will answer those questions as Piotr Pawlicki can't get out of riding in a Polish U21 Qualifier in Opole, so that will be a big test for the team covering the #5 position. As for the Brummies team, well Daniel King never really troubled any Wolves rider while Ben Barker apart from a good move to win his tactical ride was way off the pace and after Pawlicki passed him in his opening ride, Eddie Kennett was terrible. Skornicki kept battling and managed to stay ahead of the chasing Thorssell and Daniel Nermark was possibly their best rider with two heat wins but not used as a tactical (but BB was in the next heat) Paul Starke was better later on but Simon Lambert was a bit patchy but while Brummies overall failed to impress, I'm sure they are going to have a few meetings at home where they are as dominant as Wolves were here.
  4. Not really. If there was a points limit for the top 5 again, then teams could have say 7.00 to sign the two reserves. Some draft riders may be over a 3.00 average, so all reserves would be no higher than a 4.00 rider and this would be better for doubling up riders not in the draft. The draft riders would be at #7 and would face each other in the two reserves races and also once in another heat. So it wouldn't be much different than now but teams wouldn't be relying on the scores of draft riders so much as they will be this season in my opinion. However the Premier League also needs to adopt this system instead of employing out of touch foreigners they would have a young British reserve.
  5. WOLVES; Tai continues to make us all proud with his efforts on and off the track and he raises loads for GOSH. .... Ty can recover from a slow start and be the rider he was last season. ..... Pawlicki shows his Swedish and Polish talents in this country ..... Jacob continues his brilliant rise into the next Super Swede at Monmore ..... Ricky (still only 22 years of age) builds on his steady progress and consistancy but most of all, the entire team don't suffer injuries. SEASON; Well balanced teams are being looked at as the weak outfits but if they can pull together and have good reserves, they could shock a few and hopefully its a very evenly balanced table and all teams still in the running after mid season. PERSONALLY; Want to do the WTC in Poland and a few meetings and if Tai is in the running again, I will be heading out to Torun yet again to see the final round with another new shirt printed !!! 2015; Hopefully any rules set up for 2014 that dont work are sorted for the following season and not just dropped. While I like the idea of draft riders, I would rather see each team having just one draft rider or if it remains at two, then teams are increased to 8 rider teams (2 reserves) and 16 or 17 heats a meeting. Doubling up eventually sorted for riders of a certain standard and not riders being #1 in both leagues. (ie PL riders under 8 or EL under 6)
  6. Tai Woffinden makes another appearance on Live TV this morning with his bike on Game Changers (SKY1 .... +1 at 10am) Interesting to see he now has #3 on his bike ...... could this be his Wolverhampton riding order for 2014 ?
  7. Think it was always going to be key to any team to have good reserves as they could be picking up some decent scores while more accomplished riders could be struggling in the new format. At first I thought the second strings were also going to be key figures but the more I look at the format, the more I see a team with three big hitters as being the most likely to do well as even lower ranked second strings can still get a few points. So Poole, Belle Vue and Kings Lynn do seem the most likely to be at the top of the table in my opinion. Teams that are more well balanced will still have their day every now and again, but I can't see Darcy, Magic and Shamek dropping many points at home and well capable of big scores away. It would have been interesting what Poole would have been like with Darcy, Holder and Magic with two lesser known riders as second strings. Would they be stronger ? Chances are NO ..... You still need second strings that will score points and Grajzonek and especially Milik look very strong as second strings so POOLE are my tip as being the team to beat. 1 - POOLE 2 - Belle Vue 3 - Kings Lynn 4 - 10 any of the rest could feature in any position and can't work out if my team, Wolves will be in the mix or off the pace. Would certainly see a line up of Tai Woffinden, Fredrik Lindgren, Piotr Pawlicki, Sam Masters and a 3.00 rider along with the reserves as being stronger and more reliable, but have faith in Ty, Ricky and Jacob who all deserve their places in the team and could be dark horses.
  8. This is the Text message I recieved at 8.55am on Friday. Good morning/evening to everyone who is a part of Ty Proctor Racing. Well at 10pm last night, 13 hours before Somerset's Press and Practice, I've been sacked. I'm extremley shocked and gobsmacked as Ive yet to even ride for them. Their reasoning is that due to coming back from injury they believe I'm not capable of scoring points for them and they have signed someone else. But on the brighter note, off to Poole this afternoon for Havvy's Farewell so more track time. Be in touch soon everyone and Thank You for your support - TY Yes he has seemed to struggle a bit in the early few days of the season but Ty is a very determined person and very passionate about his racing and I'm sure he could have done a great job for Somerset or any PL team as their number one aswell as riding for Wolves. Thi time last season there were many wondering (me included) if bringing Adam Skornicki back was a good idea after riding in only lower leagues elsewhere. However he proved everyone wrong and he soon returned to the rider we now he can be and I'm sure the same could be said of Ty this season.
  9. Well on Monday it was still to be decided as Pete Adams had a few concerns / thoughts on how things were best for each rider and was spending Tuesday and Wednesday to decide the line up for the Birmingham match ...... but may change it after the NZ GP break ?
  10. Ty may struggle a bit to start but if he is then riding anywhere other than #1 could destroy him. At #1 he will still have 2 races with Tai and last season they were brilliant together home and away. In his other two races he would partner Ricky who was impressive on Monday in the Olympique and if Ty is struggling, Ricky can step up to the plate. Its ok saying its good to start with a win in heat 1, but with Pawlicki and Tai together in heat 3 should be enough to counter that and I'm sure our reserves will be good in heat 2. Heat 1: 1 Proctor 2 Wells -v- 1 2 Heat 2: 6 Morris 7 Joe -v- 6 7 Heat 3: 3 Pawlicki 5 TAI -v- 3 5 Heat 4: 4 Jacob 6 Morris -v- 2 7 Heat 5: 1 Proctor 5 TAI -v- 3 4 Heat 6: 3 Pawlicki 4 Jacob -v- 1 5 Heat 7: 2 Wells 7 Joe -v- 4 6 Heat 8: 3 Pawlicki 4 Jacob -v- 2 3 Heat 9: 6 Morris 7 Joe -v- 6 7 Heat 10: 1 Proctor 2 Wells -v- 3 5 Heat 11: 3 Pawlicki 5 TAI -v- 1 4 Heat 12: 2 Wells 6 Morris -v- 2 7 Heat 13: 1 Proctor 5 TAI -v- 15 Heat 14: 4 Jacob 7Joe -v- 4 6 Heat 15: TAI / Pawlicki v Top Scorers Maybe swap Pawlicki to #5 and Tai to #3, but definatley Ty at #1 in my opinion.
  11. Riding order is still not decided. Last night at the Olympique may have shown up a floor in their original pland so the next few days are going to determine who rides where ..... including #1 !! Got a feeling it's going to be Tai, Jacob, Ty, Ricky and Piotr for the Brummies match as Pawlicki looked at ease against the big names last night.
  12. Good meeting and a good line up. Very good sized crowd for the opening meeting, possibly helped by favourites in PK, Freddie and Sqora plus the entertaining Kildemand and Nicholls. Add to that the first appearance in Wolves colours of Piotr Pawlicki and also his big brother and it's no wonder the crowd flocked in to watch. 1 - Ricky Wells - Very impressed with Ricky on his new bikes and was well on the pace. Was only beaten by the top riders and a 10 point return was well deserved. 2 - Patrick Hougaard - Remember him making his debut in this meeting at just 16 years of age and he hasn't really improved much on that showing. 3 - Tai Woffinden - Two good wins followed by a effort from the back to pass Kildemand but no catching Peter Pan. At ease although still a bit race rusty. 4 - Adam Skornicki - Good couple of wins the highlight. Always popular at Wolves and a good signing for Brummies. 5 - Freddie Lindgren - Was trying out new engines apparantly ? ..... Looked more like Ludvig with battles for minor points. 6 - Jacob Thorssell - Great first ride but had to wait for his final ride for another good result. 7 - Ty Proctor - Race rusty, needs more track time and may well struggle early on this season but it will come good in the end. 8 - Piotr Pawlicki - Looks like he could be a real track expert at Monmore soon and can hold a great inside line. Likes to mix it and chase the back wheel but wins over Tai, Killer and his big bro showed he can be a big scorer in 2014. 9 - Nicolai Klindt - Started well but faded. Can be a decent second string but his former potential has gone. 10 - Ashley Morris - Good showing and never left for dead. Led Tai and Freddie for a while and on the pace. 11 - Peter Karlsson - Brilliant showing by the 44 year old and passed Scott without much effort. Smooth and controlled which is suprising since he has hardly been on a bike since his injury last season. Deserved winner. 12 - Joe Jacobs - Tried his heart out but struggled to exit turn two a few times. Will come good and Tai and Sam will be around to help out. 13 - Daniel King - Not really showed much and beat Piotr was his only real scalp. 14 - Peter Kildemand - Always full throttle and 4 laps away from the title run off but a bad gate in heat 20 cost him. Certainly one to consider for the GP's in the future. 15 - Shamek Pawlicki - Very impressive and like his brother will be a big scorer in 2014. 16 - Scott Nicholls - Always good at Monmore and only a mistake let PK through. One day he may finally get to wear the Old Gold N Black ? A few were blowing away cobwebs but next week it's straight into action with the first league match of the season v Birmingham ..... All we have to wait and see now is the riding order as no one (inc Tai) knows what number they are going to be at yet !!
  13. If Tai is going to beat #1 then the thought may be that Ty Procto is better off at #5 so he goes out twice with Tai and twice with Pawlicki. Trouble is that against teams like Kings Lynn, Belle Vue or Poole, Ty will only get to face their heat leaders. How many points will Ty get considering he is only a 5.78 rider (at least a point below) and returning from injury ?
  14. So basically you could bet 20 on Darcy scoring more than 14 and 20 on Tai scoring more. Both crash out in heat one and you are out of the competition even though you bet just 40 of your 300 ? Will still have a go and BUY Batchelor @ £170 and have a little faith in Fast Freddie by BUY @ £30

  16. SORRY; Only just realised I never posted the final results from last year. So will sort them out asap and update them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2014 GRAND PRIX PREDICTOR The 2014 GP Series is almost upon us with TAI WOFFINDEN defending the title he won last season despite injuries and being the rank outsider. This year he starts as one of the favourites but will face tough competition from the likes of Darcy Ward, Greg Hancock, Nicki Pedersen, Neils K Iversen and Jaroslaw Hampel. Sadly there is no Emil Sayfutdinov or Tomasz Gollob after they opted to ride in the SEC instead but there are still some big names in the series and even those less fancied could suprise a few in the odd round. This competition is again mainly in two parts. PART ONE is the Spread Bet. In this you are given $10 to place on TWO riders. You can buy or sell these riders and can buy two, sell two or buy one/sell one and can split the amount as you wish. (9/1, 8/2, 7/3, 6/4 or 5/5) For each point you are correct, you will get 10 points. For each point you are wrong, you will lose 10 points. EXAMPLE; If you place $3 on Martin Smolinski to buy at 66, then if he ends up on 77 then you get 11x3 = 330 points. If he ends up on 47 then you lose 19x3 = 570 points. Part Two is at each round I will give a prediction of what each rider will score during each round. You have to pick FOUR riders who you think will do better than the predicted score. For each point you are correct, you get 5 points, but for each point you are wrong then you lose 5 points. In Part One (Spread Bet) - ALL posts must be made BEFORE the televised show starts for the NEW ZEALAND GP. If you post this in time, you will get 100 points at the end of the season. In Part Two (Each GP) - ALL posts must be made prior to the start of the televised showing of that GP and for posting you will get 25 50 points. So in theory you get given 600 points if you post in time for each round (inc Spread Bet) NOTE; Any posts after the cut off time or edited will NOT count, even if its by 1 minute and no bonus points or points will be scored. There will also be a SPECIAL BET in each round. This could be of any sort of prediction that I post, but it can gain you extra points if you are correct. 2014 GRAND PRIX PREDICTED END TOTALS 140 ... Darcy Ward 135 ... Tai Woffinden 135 ... Jaroslaw Hampel 130 ... Chris Holder 125 ... Neils K Iversen 115 ... Nicki Pedersen 110 ... Greg Hancock 100 ... Matej Zagar 90 ..... Krzysztof Kasprzak 90 ..... Fredrik Lindgren 90 ..... Kenneth Bjerre 80 ..... Andreas Jonsson 75 ..... Troy Batchelor 70 ..... Chris Harris 66 ..... Martin Smolinski If at the end of the season there is a tie for the top spot, the person that scored the most without bonus points from Spread Bet will be declared the winner. Predictions for each GP will be posted below SCORES / LEADERBOARD NEW ZEALAND PREDICTIONS 13 Darcy Ward 12 Tai Woffinden 12 Chris Holder 11 Greg Hancock 11 Neils K Iversen 11 Jaroslaw Hampel 10 Nicki Pedersen 9 Matej Zagar 7 Kenneth Bjerre 6 Fredrik Lindgren 6 Krzysztof Kasprzak 6 Andreas Jonsson 6 Troy Batchelor 5 Chris Harris 4 Martin Smolinski 1 Jason Bunyan BONUS Who will score the most ? 25 pts = Holder / Batchelor 30 pts = Hampel / KK 40 pts = Woffinden / Harris 60 pts = Lindgren / Jonsson ALL POSTS must be made before the start of the televised coverage of the NEW ZEALAND GP
  17. Can understand the thoughts of Emil for not taking part but it's going to be a bit less entertaining without one of the best racers in the world. Injuries from last season seem to be one major factor and the fact he is owed a reported (not officially) over half a million from last season, he is probably going to spend a year with less meetings but at places he knows he will get paid and at Torun he knows he will get that. The money on offer in the SEC is much better than the money in the GP's so by winning the SEC he can earn more than he would in the GP's and also has a home round but hopefully something can be sorted in the future so one of the top riders of the current era can compete for the World Title which he can win when fully fit.
  18. #5 is the toughest position in my opinion as they only ever face the opponents heat leaders and never face a second string or reserve. #3 and #4 seems the best riders to use as a tactical away as they feature in three of the six races where tacticals can be used. It's ok getting a win in heat 1 sets the tone, but if a new kid on the block or a returning from injury rider is to take up the #5 position it could be hard to see many points coming from that position in some meetings. Reserves are the key though and Woves have two very good lads at reserve and should do well together as long as they don't burn out under the extra meetings
  19. There are only SIX races where a Tactical Ride can be used and in those heats the #3 away rider appears in THREE of which two are against second strings, so there is a good chance they will be used more than the rest of the team. For a team like Birmingham or Leicester, the away #4 also appears in THREE of these races including one race that includes two draft riders. So away from home the #3 could be the key figure but that does mean his programmed rides are finished by heat 11 so it may IMHO be better for the visiting teams second best rider to be at #3 and the top rider at #5 as they have the toughest rides. Will be interesting to see where the teams with an out and out top rider place them in the team especially when the #1 rider doesn't appear again until heat 11 after heat 6 which could be too late to make a tactical move Heat 5: 15v34 Heat 6: 34v15 Heat 7: 27v46 Heat 8: 34v23 Heat 9: 67v67 Heat 10: 12v35 Heat 11: 35v14
  20. This year I really don't know if Wolves are contenders for the title o the wooden spoon as all ten teams seem to have good points but quite frankl I think the reserves are going to be the key riders in ALL teams
  21. Has he not raced for Australia in any previous years qualifiers ? Personally I feel that you are what you are and as he has ridden as an Australian in FIM events before, he should stay Australian. Had he have had the choice at the start of his career to represent a different country then thats when it should have been decided and not now when he knows he is unlikely to feature in any Australian team. Maybe it's just me being old school but I have family history from Switzerland via Germany and even a Great Great Grandmother from USA but I would only ever think of myself as English.
  22. A few things about Ty Proctor last year when you look at his scores in the few meetings he did for Wolves Against rides he will be facing in 2014, he won 16 clashes and lost 12. Of those 16 wins, 13 were against riders that will be heat leaders in 2014 He gained 15 maximum 5-1's alongside Tai Woffinden and another 4 alongside Jacob Thorssell in heat 8's. Thats 19 maximums in just 37 rides !! As a heat leader, many of the races in 2014 will be like Heat 15's from 2013 and in his only appearance in the nominated heat, he finished last. Heat 01: Woffinden, Proctor, Zagar, Wolbert (ef). 1-5 (1-5) 60.2 Heat 05: Woffinden, Zetterstrom, Cook, Proctor. 3-3 (15-15) 59.9 Heat 08: Wolbert, Worrall, Proctor, Thorssell. 5-1 (24-24) 61.4 Heat 11: Proctor, Woffinden, Mroczka, Dryml. 1-5 (33-33) 62.5 Heat 01: Woffinden, Proctor, Zagar, Wolbert. 5-1...56.95 Heat 06: Woffinden, Proctor, Mroczka, Dryml. 23. New race format is out and it does throw a few thoughts into who is going to do well in 2014 but much will depnd on afew things. RIDING ORDER; To me the #5 race jacket looks the hardest position and any team that has an out and out top mn really needs this rider to be at #5 as ALL his rides are alongside another heat leader (1 and 3) and against heat leaders all the time. Some may think that putting the weakest of the teams three heat leaders at #5 is best but looking at the format, even a rider like Scott Nicholls or Rory Schlein are going to have tough nights at #5 with a hard fought 4 points (1 1 1 1) so in my opinion if you have a Woffinden or Ward then they need to be at #5 in order for the other heat leaders to have a more comfortable night. In looking at the line ups, it is hard to choose who are going to be front runners or trailers in the league and a run of four or five win could easily change a teams fortunes in 2014 as it really is wide open. However I feel that any team with three good heat leaders are going to have a slight advantage so Poole, Kings Lynn and Belle Vue look to have that nailed on. Of those three, Poole look to have the strongest second strings in Grajczonek and Milik with the later possibly being a real match winner and a rider that could evenin this format add two points to his average so Poole are my tips for the top. Having a well balanced team could still be a good choice but it is going to be hard for riders like Jason Doyle or Ben Barker to get race wins when they have to face the likes of Woffinden, Ward or Iversen three times a night but with strong second strings, what they lose in one department they could gain in other areas. Teams like Birmingham, Eastbourne or Leicester may look weak, but they have great second strings when you look at other teams and in riders like Peter Ljung Adam Skornicki or Mikkel Michelsen etc they have riders that could score well thanks to a few races against or with draft riders. The reserves will be the key to a teams success and a reserve like Jason Garrity could easily get 8+2 from his four rides without beating anyone other than draft pick reserves and a parnership like Morris and Jacbs at Wolves could easily grab two 5-1's in the reserve races and both get third places in their other two rides. Thats 14 points from a pair of reserves without beating a top 5 rider !! So while I'm not convinced yet, I'm going for Poole, Belle Vue and Kings Lynn the most likely to reach the play offs with possibly Wolves grabbing the other place thanks to a strong reserve pairing, the World Champion and Pawlicki doing what he does in Sweden and Poland in winning races against top riders.
  24. With a job that is non stop from 6am - 5pm and a house with four children of various ages and a wife that works nights and also running a local but succesful pool league then I can assure you I don't have as much spare time as I would like. Would call it more a passion for the sport and a person that looks at things from different angles ....... sometimes this may get misunderstood or misread but I undersand your thinking
  25. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way knocking Ty Proctor who in my opinion was rightly the first person signed for the 2014 season as he has not only improved vastly over the last few years with a better riding style but he is also Wolves through and through and while out injured was at most Wolves matches helping out where ever he could. My point was that riding at #5 wouldn't help him or the team. How could going out with Tai twice and Piotr twice against better averaging riders help him or the team ? This position looks to be the toughest position in the team and therefore the only real choice for the #5 race jacket is Tai Woffinden. Therefore Ty would have to ride at #1 or #3 and while there is no doubting his ability around Monmore, his away scores are not as impressive ..... but not too bad. However as tactical rides are only allowed in six races during the meeting, on away meetings the #3 rider features in three of these six races. Yet again it could be the best position for Woffy, but Piotr could be a key figure away and therefore the #3 race jacket suits him best That leaves Ty with the #1 race jacket which will not only give him a confidence boost but also puts him in two races with a second string (Ricky Wells) and two races alongside Tai Woffinden who he had great success with last season with a 47% rate of maximum heat wins and could be a trump card in these races. With some impressive scores in 2013 before his injury, even if Ty was to score 3+2 or 5+1 in a number of meetings, his rolling average is unlikely to drop much if at all ...... meanwhile Ricky Wells started well in 2013 before dropping back a bit mid season and even with scores of 6 or 7 in meetings, his average is unlikley to rise much ..... if at all. Overall I am very pleased with the 5 riders in the main body of the team for 2014 ........ but I have to admit that now looking at the race format, a team with two big hitters may be more reliable / stronger and a team of Woffinden, Fredrik Lindgren, Proctor, Thorssell and a 3+ rider like Sam Masters may have been a stronger team ......... possibly ? ....... But With Freddie making it clear he wants a year out and Chris Holder unlikely to ride anywhere other than Poole, the team they have assembled is possibly the best option available ...... but unlikley to be the best team in 2014
