  1. Due to the cancellation of yesterdays meeting, the deadline is now 12.45pm today and remember its now at Daugavpils and not Riga.
  2. Woffy will be back next season ...... but only if it's one night a week
  3. Think the only two riders you can be confident of seeing in Wolves colours next year at this moment in time is Jacob Thorssell and Oliver Bernzton with hopefully Piotr Pawlicki. If the league doesn't switch to one night and Freddie misses out of the GP's in 2015 then I wouldn't be suprised to see him back next season
  4. Have looked through some of the comments on here and have to say a few are obviously by people that have no idea about what this meeting is about. Firstly it is to replace the Wolves v Brummies clash which has been taken from the calendar Secondly it gets to promote three team names that are no longer in the PL or EL Thirdly it gives an indication of how many would turn up for an event without the big names Fourthly, teams were made up of riders willing to take part. There could have been a few riders you may have thought that could have ridden for teams but they turned down the offer like Ales Dryml while Adam Skornicki was unfit to ride for Oxford. .... Apart from the NL team, who is there left with a Cradley connection apart from Greg Hancock ? Overall it was a very good turn out, some good racing with spills and incidents and a good following from Birmingham got to see their team in action and actually win using two of their main riders and another asset guesting. .... Yes I would have liked to have seen Jacob Thorssell in the Wolves team along with Joe Jacobs but Rohan Tungate and Cameron Heeps did themselves proud and towards the end you could feel a small bit of rivalary as Wolves and Cradley battled for the runners up spot. At just £10 a throw using PL riders, it proved to be a worthwhile event and goes to show that a Premier League meeting doesn't have to cost £15 or more to put on ......... so while some post that this meeting is a rip off, maybe the same people could comment on the rip off PL tracks are doing first !!!
  5. Greg Hancock Niels K Iversen Krzysztof Kasprzak Andreas Jonsson 25pts Lebedevs to beat Holder DEADLINE IS 5pm as programme starts at 4.45
  6. Suprised to see Tai at second place considering some of the scores he has had this season in Britain but also suprised not to see Piot Pawlicki up there as he has been far the top rider at Wolves this season home and away and had some good meetings abroad too and likely to be World U21 Champion this season.
  7. For many years I have had in my posession a leather bound Autograph book that contains hand drawn pastel pictures, poems and a frienship wall but most of all it contains a large number of signatures of speedway riders from 1928. There are a number of well known riders included like Vic Huxley, Billy Lamont and Sprouts Elder plus many many more like Gus Kahn, Colin Watson, Beu Unwin etc and it has a date of August 12th on most saying it was an England v Australia meeting. I haven't been able to pin it to one meeting or venue as I can't see any test matches this early in England but do know that at the time there were a number of meetings held around London at Crystal Palace, Stanford Bridge and other tracks so it could be from that. To me its a special piece of Speedway history in a small well kept Autograph book and I could easily keep hold of it for some time more but may be tempted to sell it for the right price so inbox me and I will get back to you when I can and say yes or no.
  8. The draft riders were bought in to save money but as they were given easier heats then it meant the better riders had harder races and this has seen a few riders like Harris, Woffinden, Cook, Karlsson etc have some pretty average or poor meetings. While some second strings have actually scored more points due to a few easier races. Next season you are going to have 2014 heat leaders like Woffinden and Karlsson on modest averages for 2015 while some may appear a gamble on high averages like Ricky Wells, Niklas Porsing etc ..... so how are you going to save money putting together a team like Woffinden, Karlsson, Pawlicki, Thorssell and Klindt when that team would have been well over the limit this season. So they may have saved money this season but next year it's going to bite a few in the bum if the Elite League stays the same ...... which I can't see happening if they want to keep the likes of Ward, Woffinden and Iversen etc
  9. So has Tai, Freddie, Iversen etc ...... but Darcy has also said he will probably drop Britain next season if it's not one night a week He was booked to ride for Wolves and then flying out soon after for the Polish meeting. However they dropped him because he cant make the practice. With Leszno in action tomorrow, I expect Pawlicki was stuck in the same boat but these 24 hour bugs are not great and if you have an upset stomach, the last place you want to be in Leicester !!
  10. LATVIA PREDICTIONS 11 Tai Woffinden 11 Greg Hancock 11 Niels K Iversen 11 Darcy Ward 10 Nicki Pedersen 10 Chris Holder 8 Jarek Hampel 7 Matej Zagar 7 Krzysztof Kasprzak 6 Fredrik Lindgren 6 Andreas Jonsson 5 Kenneth Bjerre 4 Martin Smolinski 4 Troy Batchelor 4 Wild Card - Lebedevs 3 Chris Harris BONUS POINTS Andzejs Lebedevs has impressed before in tough competitions and will no doubt score points here .... but will he beat any of the big guns ? ...... (only in the programmed rides) Pick just ONE from these below 50 pts = Beats WOFFINDEN 45 pts = Beats HANCOCK 40 pts = Beats WARD 35 pts = Beats IVERSEN 30 pts = Beats PEDERSEN 25 pts = Beats HOLDER 20 PTS = Chris Harris beats Andzejs Lebedevs
  11. With Coventry holding the advantage in matches to ride and more at home, pretty confident in my prediction and even more so after Poole's recent run of form
  12. The fast track riders are being lifted into a false sense of achievement in many levels but in riders like Garrity, Kerr, Blackbird and Newman you have riders way above the NL standard that most are at and hopefully will develop a bit more in the Premier League next season while doubling up in the EL. There needs to be just one fast track rider next season if it is to continue to give them more of a test against second strings and also allow riders that are struggling to drop to reserve to ride alongside them. Set a limit for six riders and then one draft rider but hopefully the PL will step up and give more chances to NL riders by also having a draft rider or make reserves British at least
  13. Think it will only be Tai, Piotr, PK and Jacob if the Elite League moves to one night a week ..... Mondays However to do that there either has to be a British League set up for all tracks which would mean all parties pulling together ...... unlikely or EL tracks also running a British League season that doesn't feature the top riders but could see PK, Jacob, Ty and Nicolai being the main riders due to their modest averages Would be interesting to see what Freddie will do next season if he misses out in the GP's ?
  14. Two matches at home to Leicester and one v Eastbourne ..... Away to Leicester, Eastbourne, Swindon and Poole No chance of the play offs but confident of at least 8 points at home and think a few away too but PK will be back with a few decent scores and pretty sure he will still be riding next season ..... but that may be his last year and as skipper of Woles too
  15. COST CUTTING Draft riders were bought in to help cut costs but with the format they are using at the end of the season teams like Wolves could reap the benefits next year by tracking Woffinden, Pawliki and Karlsson from the start along with Jacob Thorssell and still have points left. These riders are going to want paying just as much next season as this so it's going to cost them more next season because they have been poor this season. A number of things HAVE to change over the winter with the race format and two draft riders are important in my opinion ...... but the big things that needs changing straight away are the race nights for all Elite League matches and the leagues to work together as one and form a British League. Something like .... EL; (Any 2) = Fredrik Lindgren 8.90, Piotr Pawlicki 7.90, Tai Woffinden 7.50 and Peter Karlsson 6.40 BL = Jacob Thorssell 6.40, Ricky Wells 6.20, Ty Proctor 4.90, Gino Manzares 3.70, Ashley Morris 2.90,Joe Jacobs 2.80 and a National League draft rider 2.00
  16. His average at the moment is 5.37 so the guests that could have been used are Michael Palm Toft, Kyle Howarth, Nicolai Klindt and Dakota North from the EL. ...... However with his average to go under 5 soon, Toft and Howarth would be too high so little options as guest
  17. Well the changes never worked last night but lets see what happens here on in. Heard last night that Ricky is really gutted about losing his place and fully understand that as he has done little wrong and while some may think his 6+ average is too high, Ricky has progressed well over the last few seasons and has that average because he is that good. Really hope someone fits him in soon as riding for just Workington may not be enough for him and he can do a great job for someone in the Elite League
  18. WOLVERHAMPTON 36: Piotr Pawlicki 14, Jacob Thorssell 7, Tai Woffinden 4+1, Joe Jacobs 3+1, Tom Perry 3+1, Lasse Bjerre 3, Peter Karlsson 2+1. POOLE 59: Kyle Newman 13+1, Darcy Ward 13, Przemyslaw Pawlicki 9, Josh Grajczonek 8+1, Vaclav Milik 7+3, Maciej Janowski 7+1, Brendan Johnson 2+1 Scores says it all quite frankly and in the end we did well to stop them hitting 60 Wolves had some bad luck but overall Poole were bar far the better team and on this form they can easily win the title
  19. Shamek has done well at Monmore but Magic apart from one meeting has been pretty bad around here and now he is second in the Pirates averages. .................. I'm just pleased they are not using R/R as they could be stronger
  20. Life has been made too easy for British riders by allowing them to ride in the EL and PL instead of riding in Sweden or Poland. Ben Barker, Craig Cook, Richie Worrall etc should be looking at one league here (EL) and getting positions abroad but I can't fault them for getting money locally and ending up in their own bed each night as its decent money ...... but that's not the way to be as good as you possibly can be
  21. If you were a bookie you would be a poor one at those prices. ..... Australia could mix it but Denmark and Poland looked the better bets before had so if you had put £1000 on each you are gaurenteed to get either £3000 or £3500 back within a few hours Australia won the most races ............ but finished third Denmark at 15/8 at 5pm in Corals so a £10 bet
  22. After the WTC Final it is clear we need to help British riders come through the system to hopefully be world beaters and you are not going to do that by moving NL riders into EL teams to ride in NL and PL races making them feel they are now brilliant after averaging 7+ in the EL Bring them through the divisions a step at a time and in my post saying how 3 leagues would work really gives British riders a chance to progress much better and with the foreign assessed rule there would be more British riders learning their trade
  23. Perry is only a temporary signing to cover for Ashley Morris ......... but Moris is ranked #10 so still no good Was it his poor form ...... was it a bad partnership ...... was it just the race format affecting his scoring ...... or was it a financial change by Lakeside as they have stated !! Either way he was close to the track record on his last visit and Pawlicki only just missed it last time too so looking forward to it and confident PK will hit at least 7
  24. Really looking forward to this one, not just because of the return of club legend, Peter Karlsson in the old gold n black but a match full of full throttle riders that are entertainers on a great race track. Tai Woffinden v Darcy Ward Peter Karlsson v Maciej Janowski Pawlicki v Pawlicki Add to that Jacob Thorssell who can beat anyone around Monmore on his day, Vaclav Milik who loks to be a real prospect and then Lasse Bjerre making his debut (for his 5th EL team despite being just 20) and Josh Grajzoneck who has gone well around the Green before. Should be some great races and many blasts around the fences and traditional cut backs from Piotr. Going for a welcome home victory of 49-41
  25. Think the team was built hoping to have two good scorers and the others in the top half holding their own as they all get two rides against reserves, so it was reasonable to think Ty, Ricky and Jacob could get scores along the line of 6-8 points each, with 4 or 5 coming from the easier rides. At home that has been ok, but away they have only managed that once (21+1 at Coventry) but thats the night Tai and Piotr only managed 9 between them and when Ty, Ricky and Jacob are only getting 10-16 points between them, it puts too much pressure on the top two and reserves. Bringing in PK will give more strength at the top and if they can get 30 between them away, then the second strings scoring 8+ should be enough to pick up points and possibly victories and big points ...... but is it too late ? Lasse Bjerre may only be 20 years of age but he has been around for a bit doubling up for Kings Lynn, Swindon, Peterborough and Leicester and under this format has so far scored 29 points from 6 meetings as a second string and if he can get 4-5 then I'm confident Jacob can at least match that leaving the reserves to get 6-10 points between them.
