Got to say that Craig Cook seems to be mentioned at the end of the season as he may be looking at a change needed to get him back to the form of 2013 but his last few visits to Monmore hasnt been great. Wolves seem to have Thorssell and Berntzon lined up as the foundation for the team next season and the rest will be down to what Tai is doing next season and what limits are bought in. Wolves like to have a true number one and if its not Woffinden then maybe Jason Doyle or Hans Andersen may fit the bill as Leicester will be difficult with the Grand Prixs while Coventry seem more interested in riders like Garrity and Howarth plus possibly Max Fricke.

This season has seen the reserves dominate meetings and while it has been great strides forward by the likes of Blackbird, Newman, Garrity etc, had they of kept the old format I doubt we would have had such an unbalanced score chart with reserves out scoring regular heat leaders and hardly testing the top reserves. After the experience gained this season and ensuring all reserves are British riders, this gives a more realistic format and a step up in standard for these and the likes of Auty, Birks etc that can also be given chances in 2015
-
The race format used in 2014 was too unbalanced in my opinion and there was too much emphasis and importance in the reserves. This format is more like the format used before but with a few changes to protect the #7 rider who is the NL draft rider Two Options of how a team lines up 1 - Riders line up in order of averages 2 - Top rider must be at #1 In both options, the strongest reserve must be at #6 Each reserve must take three programmed rides .... note programmed rides not rides HT 01 = 1c 5a v 1d 5b HT 02 = 6b 7d v 6a 7c HT 03 = 3c 4a v 3d 4b HT 04 = 2c 7a v 2d 7b HT 05 = 3b 4d v 1c 5a HT 06 = 1a 5c v 2b 6d HT 07 = 2b 6d v 3a 4c HT 08 = 5d 7b v 5c 7a HT 09 = 3d 4b v 2a 6c HT 10 = 1d 5b v 3c 4a HT 11 = 2a 6c v 1b 5d HT 12 = 3a 7c v 3b 7d HT 13 = 1b 2d v 1a 2c HT 14 = 4c 6a v 4d 6b HT 15 = B D V A C Obviously this shows the home team took gates 1+3 in heat one ..... to change to the other gates, simply swap A - B and C - D
-
For me Newman has been the outstanding Fast Track rider with Garrity second followed by Blackbird, Worrall etc but that is regardless now and these riders need to be bought on next year with the format changed to help them improve even more with some more challenging rides. As for Poole 2015 apart from Newman it is hard to see where they can build a team from as they are yet again victims of their own success with all of the main body having well over six point averages and Magic finally looking more like the rider we expected to see a few years ago. Magic looks like joining a few other GP riders in missing out on Britain in 2015 as they find it hard to commit to 28 meetings on various race days and want 14 meetings on one race night. Will Shamek be back ? ..... Is Milik good enough to warrant a 6.34 average and possibly a heat leaders role and the same can be said of Grajczonek who along with Newman and Milik has been the reason Poole ended up as Champions yet again. If it stays as 28 meetings on various race nights and less top riders, I think you could go with Grajczonek with Pawlicki or Milik as the spearhead and Newman promoted to a second string. Depending on the limit and going on the assumption that Ward will not be available, it wouldn't be a suprise to see Davey Watt back. 6.75 Shamek or 6.34 Milik 6.71 Watt 6.40 Grajczonek 5.00 Newman What that leaves is to be seen and who they get as fast track riders too but no doubt whoever they get in, they will be challenging yet again like normal.
-
Can't see Andreas Jonsson returning to the Elite League especially if it's going to be 14 home and 14 away meetings and that may well be the case for any GP rider who has regular rides in Sweden and Poland to also contend with. Chris Harris 7.49, Kyle Howarth 5.27 and Jason Garrity 5.00 ? should be bought back to fill three of the five main body places and if 6+ riders are going to be heat leaders then Daniel King 6.74 or Cameron Woodward 6.32 would be a decent signing as they both have experience and both are consistant scorers home and away. What that would leave is anyone's guess but someone like Josh Auty, Adam Roynon or Stuart Robson could be decent #2 riders as Summers and Fricke should be at Premier League and not allowed to double up. James Sarjeant and Oliver Greenwood should be the draft reserves making it a balanced 1-7 in a possible weaker limit yet again.
-
I have doubts that a number of top foreign riders will be back next season if it is going to be 14 home and 14 away as they struggle to fit them in to their ever increasing fixture list so think Matej Zagar could well be missing next season. Craig Cook 6.21 and Richie Worrall 5.53 should be the backbone of the team for a few years and Scott Nicholls 7.56 could easily do the job of a #1 in a league that may well be missing the likes of Zagar, Woffinden, Ward etc. Scott is one of the few heat leaders that actually increased his starting average and seemed to enjoy his season at Kirky Lane. One rider that could do a decent job for Belle Vue in such a league would be Ricky Wells 5.88 who increased his average at Wolves and was unlucky to be dropped and has done well at Kirky Lane in the past. What that leaves is unsure, but I would expect it to be someone like Josh Auty at #2. With non EU riders likely to be unable to double up, I would think Max Fricke will have another season in the Premier League and should he decide to move up, even as a Wolves fan I would expect Coventry or Poole to be at the front of the queue for him rather than Belle Vue or Wolves.

Yes - Nilsson took the place of Andersen Yet again my lap top is letting me down and taken one hour to get on here and bombarded with adverts and add ons so going to post TORUN predictions and come back later to update. TORUN 11 Krzysztof Kasprzak 11 Greg Hancock 10 Tai Woffinden 10 Chris Holder 9 Nicki Pedersen 9 Jarek Hampel 8 Matej Zagar 8 Andreas Jonsson 6 Adrian Meidzinski WC 6 Fredrik Lindgren 6 Kenneth Bjerre 6 Michael Jepsen Jensen (Iversen) 6 Darcy Ward replacement ? 6 Troy Batchelor 4 Martin Smolinski 4 Chris Harris BONUS - So far Hancock, Woffinden, KK, Zagar and Pedersen are safe to finish top 8 and we then have 5 riders realistically battling for the last three assured places with Holder 93, Hampel 87, Lindgren 87, Jonsson 86 and Batchelor 85 well ahead of Smolinski 77 and Bjerre 71 ....... Bomber on 44 is the only rider that can't finish top 8 !! So pick just ONE of the following 30 points = Jonsson to finish Top 8 40 points = Lindgren to finish Top 8 50 points = A run off to be held for a Top 8 place 60 points = Batchelor to finish Top 8 100 points = Holder NOT to finish Top 8 200 points = Hancock NOT to be crowned World Champion 300 points = Woffinden to retain his World Title

Think some don't quite understand the situation regarding Tai signing for Wolves in 2014. Having won the World Title, Tai did more PR work than any other World Champion I have ever known and was non stop in his goal of not only promoting the sport but also attracting new sponsors or better deals for the 2014 season as this may be the only time he is World Champion. Pete Adams helps Tai out behind the scenes in a professional manner so was a part of his planning for 2014 in a way. Poland was never a concern and when yet another deal was offered to him in Sweden, he signed for Vetlanda to ride alongside Emil Sayfutinov and Jacob Thorssell in what looked to be a very strong team and he looked forward to it as he WANTED to do all three main leagues on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday then the GP's every other weekend. Later on the BSPA decided to extend the number of meetings to 36 and trying to fit in 18 away league meetings on various race nights meant he was going to have to squash everything in and questioned if he could get through the season without any hassles. This was his concern and he was still willing to sign for Wolves and no one else and in the talks with Pete Adams he was persuaded to sign up but it was felt that he had possibly taken on too much. Note that Pete Adams isn't just part of his GP plans, he is also his Wolves team mnager, advisor and almost like a father figure helping him in various avenues Tai has gone along. The GP's are only a part of thir relationship and should Tai feel he has to miss Britain next season I'm sure PA and CVS will understand his reasons ...... they may not agree with him but they will both be there for Tai well into the future and will always be in team plans for the foresable future at Monmore Green if he feels he can fit Britain in. As for 2015, it will be interesting to see which other riders with an average of six or over return to Britain, especially those in the GP's or even SEC. Kenneth Bjerre is the only one I have heard of yet that has stated he will drop Sweden before England but the fact that he feels riding in the three leagues and the GP's is too much has to make people realise there are too many oppourtunites now for riders to race and they can't fit them all in unless they are based in a suitcase and a van. Jacob Thorssell looks to be a sure thing and I think he has an agreement in Sweden that he will ride in England on a Thursday if there is a clash of dates unless it's a rearranged meeting like it was recently at Swindon. Hopefully something like that could be arranged with Fredrik Lindgren too if Tai opts out of Britain as Freddie likes to keep busy and would be a great number one if he can ride here on a Thursday. 1 - Fredrik Lindgren or Tai Woffinden or the "other" rider gets his wish ? 2 - Jacob Thorssell 3 - ? 4 - Oliver Berntzon 5 - Lasse Bjerre or Jason Garrity 6 - Ashley Morris 7 - Tom Perry

Eastbourne To Close Down
T.N.T. replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Dugards proposal of a 9-10 team EL riding each other once at home and once away with 4 team play offs and then any EL team who wants more meetings could run a team in an enlarged PL or run a reserve team in the NL has a lot of credibility. The EL teams could be made up of 6 man teams (which they originally did in the early days) with a higher poitns limit and I'm sure they'd attract more of the Worlds top riders over which would make the League a proper EL again. The EL teams who wanted to run in the PL would obviously have a much lower points limit to work to but could use a fair few of the same riders in both Leagues. PL teams not in the EL could run a League cup competition between them to increase their fixtures. I'm sure the likes of Eastbourne and a reopened Birmingham would be interested in running in a reduced EL. This set up may also favour the Cradley set up which has now outgrown the NL but as yet haven't got their own stadium. The days of fans turning up in droves every week for their speedway fare has long gone. Once a fortnight for most tracks would see a more sustainable business! That has been my proposal for years and finally some are getting on board. Maybe a little too late for some but its the only way forward if you want top level racing -
Eastbourne To Close Down
T.N.T. replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It states quite clearly that they cant run a large number of meetings .... but could run 8 home and 8 away Elite League matches Tai Woffinden has already served notice that British Speedway needs to change at the top level if they want the top riders to still race here and has the backing of a number of riders that could also soon be lost to these shores. They want to ride here, but with fixed race nights, better pay and less flights the journeys into and out of Britain are causing a concern and by August we are seeing riders getting burnt out and more and more have accidents than at any other time of the year. Run the EL on 8 home and 8 away and those tracks (9) that want to ride in the PL can join up to form one big league which would probably be split into two groups. Eastbourne would possibly just run in the EL so it could be 7 home 7 away ? ...... but the PL team they build at Poole or Wolves would be joined by two star riders ..... so Poole use Ward and Holder .... Wolves Woffinden and Lindgren .... Coventry use Hancock and Andersen ..... Swindon - Kildemand and Sayfutdinov .... Eastbourne Nicki and Bjarne ... etc Don't get me wrong, Arlington and Brandon may well end up as housing estates but the sport has to be more economicial and feature more PL standard racing with the odd top class meeting here and there -
Riders are making it clear that racing in Britain is no longer a priority and the pressures put on them by the clubs in other countries makes it difficult for them to ride here when important meetings are taking place in those countries. Leicester have made their point by doing the same as Wolverhampton and saying enough is enough and made it clear that fans attending thier meetings will no longer feature those riders ..... should they be allowed a guest ? In this case the resul t doesn't affect anything but in the case of Pawlicki, Wolves may have done better in certain matches and that could have affected the league table and who qualifies for the play offs ..... it didn't but in future it may do but you are now in catch 22 Riders (foreign clubs) can't dictate to British Speedway when they can and can't ride but clubs can't let them get away with it. Maybe a replacement after the deadline could be allowed if they are new riders .... ie Berntzon to replace Pawlicki or Zmarzlik to replace Mads (examples only) but not like for like ..... or allow a PL heat leader to guest at best.

I have finally had the chance to get the laptop working (just) and the time to update the scores and there is a new leader ...... me !!! LATVIA; Hilly was top scorer with 135 with Screm next best on 120 while PTW never posted. GORZOW; Pantherman and TNT top scored with 205 points while Incognito and Gavan scored 175 .... JamieE and CJ69 never posted VOJENS; PTW top scored with 115 points while TNT 110 and CJ69 with 100 were the only ones to get big scores. THE LEADERBOARD 1065 = T.N.T. 1060 = Pantherman 1050 = Referee Rick 930 = Icescott 905 = INCOGNITO 900 = Rico 890 = Pyscho3a 880 = Hilly 855 = PTW 795 = Gavan 735 = Screm 690 = Waihekeaces 685 = JamieE 535 = CJ69 Others have been removed if not posted in a number of rounds STOCKHOLM PREDICTIONS 11 - Tai Woffinden 11 - Krzysztof Kasprzak 11 - Nicki Pedersen 9 - Chris Holder 9 - Thomas H Jonasson 9 - Greg Hancock 7 - Matej Zagar 7 - Kenneth Bjerre 7 - Troy Batchelor 7 - Andreas Jonsson 7 - Fredrik Lindgren 7 - Michael Jepson Jensen 6 - Hans Andersen 4 - Jarek Hampel 4 - Martin Smolinski 4 - Chris Harris BONUS; .... pick one 30 PTS = The final being all Swedes and Danes 50 PTS = A new leader with one round to go ? 50 PTS = Lindgren to overtake Iversen in the standings (9 behind at present) 100 PTS = No Danes or Swedes in the final 250 PTS = Smolinski or Harris to make the rostrum 275 meter track, Jarek Hampel is the track record holder but the way he is riding of late, just winning a race would be a suprise, hence his predicted score of just 4 points. With Ward and Iversen ruled out, Michael Jepsen Jensen replaces Iversen while next in line is Hans Andersen to replace Darcy ..... next in line is Daniel King followed by Piotr Pawlicki (broken wrist), Daniel Nermark and Maciej Janowski
-
If your going back as far as 2007 for Harris then you may as well add Martin Dugard to the list !!! Sadly in my opinion the best place for a second GP over here is Coventry as it's in the midlands, easy to get to and with some money spent on it, they could easily improve the standing area on the back straight to increase the capacity. However the future of Brandon seems to be housing and unlike the mega bucks in football, Speedway does not have that sort of backing and that leaves either the new Belle Vue Stadium, Kings Lynn or Peterborough as only real viable stadiums that are used by the sport at present. However as we have seen in Parken, Cardiff and other ventures, why could we not get a track built in the NEC Birmingham as it could easily hold a 300+ meter track and seating for 15,000 fans plus have other arenas for sponsors like Monster to hold shows during the weekend. As for the GP Challenge, Matej Zagar claiming a top three finish wouldn't be too bad as all that would do is grant the rider in 9th place ..... so you have to ask that as he is safe in the top 8, why should he ride in this meeting ? ...... if he didn't take part then Martin Smolinski is next in line making Jurica Pavlic the reserve I'm hoping that Oliver Berntzon is taking Cameron Woodwards place as he is next in line after Bomber has replaced Dudek from the same semi final ? ..... this would make Adrian Meidzinski a reserve. Hoping the top three from the Final are Zagar, Kildemand and Jonasson with Doyle next and while I appreciate he is worthy of his place in this meeting, I really hope Bomber fails to get through so he can do what he does best ..... league racing !! PS; Good Luck Nicolai

Having seen Piotr most weeks this season at Monmore ..... adly not every week ..... I can say that he has everything needed to make it to the top. He can gate as fast as anyone but also comes from the back on a regular basis. He has good sponsors, a good team behind him and is dedicated to reaching the top with the right approach. Bartosz Zmarzlik and Pawel Prezdpelski look to be the three big stars in Poland now whilew Denmark and Sweden also have some encouraging younsters coming though too and while Britain has some young riders progessing I can't think of any that you could pick as future GP stars at the moment.that can be a future Tai Woffinden. There are some emerging talents from other countries like Vaclav Milik and Andrej Lebedevs but you can see in ten years time the GP's still being dominated mainly by Poles, Danes and Swedes

Lindgren Harris Hampel Jonsson 200 points bonus NOTE; In the bonus, Greg Hancock counts as a starter so Nicolai Busk Jacobsen doesnt come into the Nicki Pedersen bonus

Coventry Bees V Eastbourne Eagles 12/09/2014

At least on September 26th Bees will gain the advantage of Wolverhampton giving them more of a test ..... Rory back again ? .... Ricky back in the Old Gold ? ....... Jacob fit again, PK had his Sanatagen and Lasse on the up can see it being a lot closer. ............ Then we can go to the club shop, buy a Storm flag and support them against the Spoons -
No we don't know which is why my post was .... If he did return it would most likely mean he wont be doing as many in Sweden and maybe concentrate on England for his final year ?

Well I travelled down to Brandon thinking it may be an interesting night with Robbo and Schlein stepping in for Eastbourne despite watching them on Monday offer little resistance to Wolverhampton ...... next time I will not be making the same mistake and stood there thinking I am glad I'm not an Eagles fan watching this. Rory Schlein was the only Eagles rider worthy of mentioning really and had they have used r/r instead, Eastbourne probly wouldn't have reached 30 in either meeting as they were simply out classed, out gated and pure and simply put to the knife as the visitors failed heat after heat. Bjarne Pedersen didn't look interested and much the same can be said the same as Joonas Kylmakorpi while Timo Lahti was battling and had one good ride coming from the back to win and Stuart Robson was the same getting little reward for his efforts. At reserve they were overpowered with Adam Ellis starting off well but then nothing and Max Clegg getting better as the night went on but still not capale of beating an opponent. Wolves went to Swindon with a complete team of replacements (Perry in for Morris) with a team resembling a Premier League team that featured two Eastbourne riders and scored more than these who have a former GP star and a multi World Champion and any Eagles fan that travelled to watch this must feel cheated by the efforts put in. Next season keep Wodward and possibly Lahti but build a team that wants to ride and can do so on more than just one track. ps; Well Done every Bees rider who all did rgeir jobs and it clearly shows that Bomber is a league rider through and through and should concentrate on that than the GP's -

Definatley coming down for these now and may even go to Belle Vue on Monday for another Eagles double header ...... if these were on the fixture list at the start of the season, how many Eastbourne fans would have booked a week off to do these meetings ? c'mon the Eagles -
I agree that Jacob looks to be the one that will go further in his career but at the moment, they are both around the same level and I for one would like to see both rewarded with 2015 team places at the Olympique where hopefully Berntzon will also be added officially

Ricky is no more a risk away from home as Jacob Thorssell as both have results better at home, while away apart from the odd big score, Ricky has been more consistant on his travels Home = 9, 8, 10, 12, 6, 5, 4, 6, 6, 5, 6, 9 = 86+6 / 50 = 6.88 Away = 8, 6, 9, 8, 4, 8, 4, 6, 0, 5, 6, 5, 6 = 75+5 / 57 = 5.26 In a league where there is less top riders and 6+ riders likely to be 7+ riders next season, I see no reason why Ricky cant do that and at 23 years of age, he is still progressing. Jacob Thorssell is the one rider you can tattoo in for next season and he too is better at home than away and like Ricky he is progressing well and at 21 it gives Wolves two young talents committed to Britain and heading in the right order. Home = 8, 7, 8, 7, 5, 6, 11, 9, 6, 7, 5, 6 = 85+5 / 49 = 6.94 Away = 10, 4, 8, 6, 4, 5, 11, 6, 6, 2, 2 = 64+3 / 49 = 5.22 Add Oliver Berntzon (also 21) and you have a foundation to build on. With Lasse Bjerre proving to be a hit and only 21 at the end of the season, Wolves would have four solid riders for 2015 and it remains to be seen what the limits will be. Would it be add PK and two draft riders ? Add Garrity or Fricke and 2 draft riders ? Or how about Fricke and Garrity plus one draft rider like Tom Perry or Ashley Morris ?
