You have misunderstood what I posted. Should Chris Holder be injured then Poole can sign whoever they want upto his average (or the 34 limit) and that is fine. However if North or Watt move their averages to say 7.67, they can not be replaced by a rider that has a 7+ average now like Tai Woffinden, Piotr Pawlicki or Peter Kildemand as their 1-7 will contain THREE riders that started the season on 7+ averages. If Poole or any other club wanted to sign Woffinden or Kildemand or Kasprzak for example it would have to be at the expense of a rider that started on a 7+ average UNLESS that team never started the season with two such riders like Wolves and Lakeside EDIT; I could just imagine if this was allowed, Poole releasing North 7.67 and Gomolski 7.05 mid season and bringing in Kildemand and Woffinden to give them a top five of Holder, Janowski, Kildemand, Woffinden and Watt
-
You HOPE they will ....... Don't under estimate Wolves as they will have their days when they give a spanking and you could be suprised on how good Museliak is It is going to be hard to replace Dakota North or Davey Watt really as you can only have TWO 7+ riders in your team using the starting averages. So even if Dakota North averages 8.08 early on, he can only be replaced with a rider that started the season on an average under seven unless they release Magic or Holder too

Riders DON'T dig ruts at the start, they are simply looking for the best bit of track to get the grip and if anything they fill in the ruts and stamp down the lose dirt to try and get the best grip when starting. If you ever get to see the track close up during or after a meeting you will see that gate four gets really rutted during the meeting and creates bumps as they go back around each time. This isn't really needed as the ruts can be filled in more often ...... the one problem gate four can often have though is the lack of dirt once they are out of the gate due to the racing line being slick as the meeting goes on. Grading the start line more often in my opinion would be a benefit to everyone and make the gates more equal during the meeting.
-
The race surface can change from night to night and with most tracks now the surface is on concrete and hard pressed material. I will say though that I feel more worked could easily be done on the starting gates as ruts can make it hard in later heats to get a decent position. Along the kickboards, especially entering the bend there is always loads of lose dirt there and by constantly refilling these ruts and pressed down every four heats by the tractor or every heat with a waker plate the starting area could be a much more level playing field instead of a plughed field.

While the Ben Fund meeting was more about brushing off cobwebs before the season, both Wozniak and Jamrog are Polish Division One riders and Wozniak is a much better rider tham Jamrog and both could score points but I will be suprised if Jamrog is still at Coventry by the time the SWC starts and possibly drop to the Premier League. Not too sure how Wozniak will do but there are some very good second strings about this year and every race will be tough for him and I would rate him overall as a rider not quite to the level of Nicolai Klindt so overall Leicester have a very good #1, two inconststant back up heat leaders. a promising second string and another who could struggle. Better than Lakeside, Swindon and Wolves ? ...... we will see but the other four look superior as they line up at the moment but Coventry are weakend not having Woodward or Bridger.

2015 Elrc 21st March
T.N.T. replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
So if it's the top two from each club, Wolves will have Fredrik Lindgren and Tobiasz Museliak. Freddie hasn't ridden here since 2013 and Tobiasz will line up in Wolves colours having never ridden for the club !! May have been tempted to go to this but at £25 plus £4 a programme and £20 expenses thats £50 for an event that should be to celebrate those that have done well that season. Predict the final will be Jason Doyle and the three fastest gaters !! -
WOLVES FAST TRACK NUMBER EIGHT After years of helping many a rider with engines, especially his close friend Peter Karlsson, this year Wolves legend Graham Jones is the main mechanic for Graham Jones and while getting things together for the new season he of course had to check out Freddie's new kevlars No number included as they are inter changable of course but I would not be suprised to see Tobiasz starting at #1 and Freddie at #3 so he partners PK twice and Jacob twice ..... that would be great to watch him scoring 2*2*2*2* in his programmed rides
-
Greg Walasek addds some vast experience to the Leicester team and on his day can beat anyone and although he only rode in 8 meetings for Czestochowa in Poland, he scored an 18 point maximum at Champions, Gorzow beating Iversen, Zagar, and Kasprzak which is a remarkable achievement but the two meetings either side he managed just 3 points from 7 stars which underlines his inconsistancy. He finished the Swedish season off in style with a 16 point score against Vastervik beating Andersen, Kasprzak and Pawlicki, winning five of his six races but up to that meeting had only won two races in the previous seven meetings. He certainly didn't do as many meetings last season as in 2013 and after the problems at Czestochowa a deal in Britain is perfect for him to ride more again. While I think he is a capable rider and as third heat leader he could be a very good signing, I still don't see Leicester as plat off contenders but should be very hard to beat at home and on their day could spank a few teams quite heavily but I don't see them doing much away.

World Champion 2015
T.N.T. replied to customhouseregular's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
WORLD CHAMPION = TAI WOFFINDEN Tai took on too much last season, on and off the track and at times never had the right set ups, but this season he has Pete Adams by his side, Craig Cummins overseeing things in the pits and Jacko and Damian doing the bikes and this will be a great team to give Tai the form of 2013. Hopefully he will stay injury free and if he does he could be a run away winner. ==== Contenders ======= Greg Hancock Neils K Iversen Krzysztof Kasprzak Nicki Pedersen Chris Holder Jarek Hampel ==== Chasing the Top 8 === Jason Doyle Matej Zagar Maciej Janowski Andreas Jonsson Michael Jepsen Jensen ==== Not in the running === Thomas H Jonasson Troy Batchelor Chris Harris -
So when is the official news coming from Wimborne Road about Magic and Gomolski ? Or are they going to wait 6 months before announcing it
-
I would agree just saying he does fit and personally think Kylmakorpi would suit them better as long as he can fit in his Longtrack meetings. Shamek is again with Leszno, but when you look at the squad they have put together, they may not need him !!
-
Or yours could be
-
I have 6.92 left for the final place with Doyle 8.44, Pedersen 7.12, Michelsen 6.02 and Wozniak 5.50 signed up. Shamek is 6.75 As stated, clash of race nights with Berwick quite a few times so no go

It appears that once the 2015 season starts, the rolling averages will change to the last 20 meetings instead of 28. For some riders it would seem they are likely to see their averages go up, like Dakota North in his last 20 meetings averaged 7.46 where as Chris Harris was closer to 9 than his 7.46. Nicolai Klindt also started badly but finished well on 5.16 over 28 so over 20 he is likely to be over 6 ...... wonder what changes will be made to those that have inflated averages ? Wolves riders last 20 Elite League meetings at present are .... Fredrik Lindgren 99 rides 215+22 points = 8.69 Peter Karlsson 98 rides 149+19 points = 6.08 Jacob Thorssell 83 rides 124+7 points = 5.96 Ricky Wells 86 rides 123+10 points = 5.86 Tai Woffinden 93 rides 162+20 points = 6.97

Thought the Visa was to cover working in this country ...... riding or not its still working so he would need a Visa for that too surely
-
He is still highly protected and would not be likely to feature in Britain, plus he has a 7.00 assessed average so that makes it impossible. Shamek Pawlicki = Coventry asset but Poole have first option on him. Coventry set to announce their last rider and Poole their last two in Janowski and Gomolski ? so if he is available he is by far the best option Joonas Kylmakorpi - Has made it clear he wants to ride here and was hoping on joining Wolverhampton but that has gone and it seems Coventry and Leicester are his only options Either way, I can't see them making the top four
-
No he isn't ...... his brother maybe He would have to replace a rider with a higher average to avoid major reshuffling and if they started with Holder and Janowski, one of those two would have to make way any way if he did come back in July. If Darcy did manage to get a Visa and appear somewhere later in the season I would think there is more chance of him signing for Swindon or Leicester

Wolves will be holding their annual pre season talk in on Tuesday 17th March at The Cleveland Arms with the full 1-7 present. Good night at The Cleveland Arms tonight in an Evening with Sam and Ronnie with guests Graham Jones, Wayne Carter, Pete Adams and Chris Van Straaten with many a light hearted and humourus comments but also some discussions on the old days and a bit on the present day. One thing that was revealed was they are looking at bringing back Mr Wolf ..... may not be the same one but a much missed character at Monmore Green

Looking at the heat format now, the teams that should be suited best are the teams with two good top men followed by two very good back up riders to form a formidable top four. A few years ago the #5 rider was often the top man as they had to partner reserves but now the #5 only appears alongside the #1 or #3 so this should be the weakest of the three, Poole with Davey Watt look the best equipped here as Davey Watt has been a consistant scorer acan't see them missing out.s a heat leader in the last few seasons and with Holder and possibly Janowski, you could easily see him scoring 5+4. This may mean he would slip to a second string but Dakota North can move up and then Davey will excel in the second string role. Belle Vue with Stead and Cook should do well while King and ? (Pawlicki/JK ?) are strong at Coventry. I originally went for these three teams to be in the play offs and I still can't see them missing out. But who will be the last team to reach the play offs ? ...... I went with Kings Lynn but think they could struggle more than some think as they no longer have the "bargain" second strings like last season. Lakeside having doubling up riders in Lawson and Kennett and don't have priority while Birks at reserve also doesn't have priority and looks like missing quite a few and missing these riders in key meetings could cost them in the end. Leicester could be the suprise packet but there are some good second strings now and Wozniak is going to find it tough He averaged 7.54 in the Polish Division One but the opposition here is going to test him. That leaves Swindon who I tipped as wooden spoon contenders but I can't see Meidzinski doing that well in this format and Morris and Zengota will have to be up for a battle. Wolves however have too much pressure on Freddie and like Meidzinski I think he will struggle to even average eight points a match. Museliak is a great signing but can the other three step up ? So I stick with my original post but if one of the bottom four shocks anyone then it could be Wolves .... but think there will be changes mid season
-
It's a shame about Lewis but he needs the year out as planned and if he wants to come back into the sport next season he needs to get his own equipment set up and change his life style a bit. He could be a much better rider than he is with a bit more dedication Surely before they opted for Lewis they would have spoken to Shamek Pawlicki so he looks unlikely so maybe the more obvious or likely replacements are Krzysztof Buczkowski or Joonas Kylmakorpi which will no doubt also be targets for Leicester too. The same Davey Watt that is signed for Poole ?

22 before the season starts

I'm sure if a group of 30-50 people were together and organised the back straight stand could be painted yellow and black, the terracing on the third and forth bend weeded and broken glass cleaned, posts painted and the same on turn one and two it would be appreciated. I am sure through the season you will get someone in that has never been before. They may be taking their children or maybe a businessman with some friends and first impressions count. Its all about atmosphere and presentation ..... something Chris Simpson did well and now Coventry have neither. They do have a good team and I have them as third behind Poole and Belle Vue
-
Play the National Anthem ? Don't play the National Anthem ? Coventry have built a very attractive team for the forthcoming season and it's a shame Chris Simpson won't be there to add his music and jingles to the evening as he has always done a top class job at Brandon, Perry Barr and possibly the best music played at Cardiff. Remember the Land of Hope & Glory blaring out and the crowd raising the roof. The sport needs that sort of atmosphere. It's just a shame that with an attractive team about to start the season, the Stadium looks like it hasn't been maintained or painted since Rick Millers Testimonial and if anything needs changing at the stadium is tidying it up. Last season I walked around a very quiet meeting and it really needs tarting up. I'm sure a group of volunteers can be assembled, bring your own brushes and get some paint to make the Stadium on the back straight, corners etc at least look like it isn't from the set of Ashes to Ashes or Life On Mars. It may be lost to the sport in the next few years but let it go out looking good and your head held high rather than putting it out of it's misery.
