You're right, he has dual nationality, but has a British passport. British mother, Danish father.

Oh no! Please tell me there's not another one of him!
-
How do you know that wasn't the case from the moment he signed? Makes sense to me. The P'boro and KL Promotions have seemed to be getting rather chummy with each other over the last couple of seasons. Based on his end of season form, I really can't see him plying his trade anywhere other than the EL from 2012 onwards. At a push, he may decide to take another year in the PL in '12, but there's no doubting that with his potential, EL beckons and probably sooner rather than later. Being an asset of a PL side seems pointless to me. Buster Chapman has been around for a fair few years now. He knows a fair deal. I'm sure he wouldn't have agreed to it otherwise.

Sgp Challenge Final
MrMungo replied to ladyluck's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
DK4 are showing it live in Denmark. They'll be streaming it on their website too, but not much use to anyone on here unless you're living in Denmark, Faroe Islands, Greenland or Iceland(the country)! Bet they have a nice big following up on the Faroe Islands! Can't imagine Lindgren will be as bad as he was in the SWC Final. There always seems to be a Pole qualifying from these meetings & wouldn't be at all surprised if there were 2 of 'em on the rostrum - Lindgren, Ulamek, Kolodziej to qualify for me. -
King's Lynn Young Stars Vs. Dudley Heathens
MrMungo replied to willp's topic in National League Speedway
The fence did its job last night. I'm not going to harp on about it, because the fence subject has been discussed time and time again, but... 3 crashes, Lambert was able to take part again (although sore, I'm sure), Kerr concussed after that horror crash, and Franklin judging on Sandie's post this morning came out of it reasonably unscathed, aswell. The fact that there's no lasting injuries there is somewhat amazing! Out of the 3, Lewis Kerr's crash was without the worst to witness - a crash that was almost a carbon copy of the Mallett/Sanchez crash a few years back. How on earth he got up so quickly from that I'll never know. I hope Jake Anderson thanked him after that race. It was a completly selfless deed to avoid the stricken Anderson which unfortunately seems to have gone unthanked from the Heathens supporters. -
Esbjerg 37 Greg Hancock 9 (6) Marcin Rempala 5 (5) Joonas Kylmakorpi 9+1 (6) Jesper Kristiansen 4+3 (6) Peter Juul Larsen 10 (5) Brovst 47 Adrian Miedzinski 13+2 (6) Daniel Pytel 12+2 (6) Leon Madsen 17(6) Thomas Jørgensen 1 (5) Jonas B Andersen 4 (5) These 5 man teams never really fill me with excitement. It all looks somewhat repititive on paper, but there's no doubting it provides some fine, close matches. This was another one. It was very tight all the way through - Brovst scoring 14 points in the last 3 heats makes it look more emphatic than it really was. Leon Madsen returned with bit of a bang - best rider on show and looked very quick all night. Miedzinski after bit of a slow start went unebeaten in his last 4 heats. A fine pass on Hancock in the final heat was probably his highlight. First time I had seen Pytel ride and he looks a handy little rider. Not the quickest by any means but a good gater and knew where to put his bike. Jørgensen unlucky only to score 1. He was looking competitive all night. Andersen got better and better & sealed the win with a surprise pass on Kristiansen in the penultimate heat. Hancock never really looked fast or slow. Always in the mix but he looks far from his best at the moment. Rempala sufferd a couple of retirements when in scoring positions. Looked good when he completed a race. Kylmakorpi was probably the unluckiest rider on show having to face Leon Madsen 6 times! Did his job though. Kristiansen was solid enough. Bit hit and miss but overall did okay. Peter Juul Larsen impressed me greatly and was given the "Fighter" award

Swc Event 2, King's Lynn, 26/7
MrMungo replied to Bagpuss's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Kennett impressed me greatly in the GB semi. I'd be somewhat surprised if he wasn't picked. Ben Barker is another one who could easily feature. I'm sure the Peterborough fans would love that! If they're going to attempt to appease the local (P'boro)fans, then Lewis Bridger just has to ride too! Australia is a difficult one. The amount of options they have is unreal! I hope Darcy Ward does ride simply because there is not a more exciting rider to watch 'round King's Lynn. He doesn't seem to have kicked on that much this year, so may be a year too early for him. Schlein or Shields are the first possibilities that spring to mind, Kevin Doolan possibly aswell? In comparison to the Australian and British sides, the Swedish side has very little experience at King's Lynn. Jonsson has brilliant there in the past, but hasn't ridden there in what 8 years? They could do with someone with a bit of King's Lynn experience...someone like Daniel Nermark... (F) Lindgren & Jonsson are certainities I would've thought. Lindbäck is far too good to be left out. I'd personally pick Nermark ahead of Jonas Davidsson and give Zetterström the other spot, which would please Trees I'm sure! -

Denmark?! Think he's been with Slangerup for most of his career so far. Tidy little rider and only 16-17 I believe. -

You're most welcome (you too, Seedef27!). There are some pictures up at DM Q/F if interested. -
Was in Outrup for nearly 8 hours today looking for your sorry excuse of an ass! It's ridiculous that a guy of 16 can do that! It won't be long before Russia take over the Speedway world at this rate. Lokajev would be a good bet for the World Under 21 title if he can ride like that everywhere. I shall pass on your kind wishes. He'll appreciate it I'm sure! All things considered he was lucky only to suffer a broken collarbone, but as soon as Crump won the GP any pain he had mysteriously vanished...

Vissing, Kildemand, K Larsen, Bach all qualify, Wortmann reserve (but deserved to qualify!!). Tricky(very, very grippy!) track caused mayhem early on. It was never ideal but did improve somewhat later on. Wortmann unlucky not to qualify. His crash in the third (when he laid his bike down to avoid an almost certain collision with Kristiansen's back wheel) cost him dearly. Many thanks Jacqueline -
Not quite sure where to place this, but figured it made more sense to place it here as opposed to starting a new thread. Vojens' miserable start to the 2010 season with yet another home loss & yet again they were never led until the very, very end of the meeting. Heat 12 looked like the turning point and was one of several fine heats. Vojens were 6 ahead going into this heat. Hougaard was leading seemingly reasonably comfortably, Bjarne Pedersen never far behind whilst Jepsen Jensen was holding off Karpov for third. Vojens were on a 4-2 entering the third bend for the final time, but both Pedersen and Karpov came from seemingly nowhere to pass their men on the run-in to the finish line. A Karpov/Bager 4-2 in the 13th left it delicately poised & Pedersen/Lokajev made no mistake in the final heat. Hougaard (3-3-2-3-2-1) started off like a train, was as quick as anyone for most of the night but just had no response when Vojens really needed him. Larsen (1-1*-3-2*-1-0) like many was involved in some good races. Passed Bager off the final bend in the opener, then looked very good in the middle of the meeting but went AWOL at the end. Jepsen Jensen (2-2*1-3-0-2) fine value. Some dodgy gating but clever first bends & was always in the thick of the action. Lovely style, plenty of speed but just not as sharp at the start as some. Berntzon (0-1-0-2-2) started off slowly but got better and faster as the night on. He might possibly be the smallest rider I have ever seen! Nice style though, never say die attitude and was rightly awarded the battler award. Jakobsen (2-0-1*1*-0) Solid enough as a number 5, looked okay at times, but personally was expected a bit more. Pedersen (2-1-2*-1-3-3-2*) Looked a little sluggish early on, but came real good when it really mattered. Team rode well on a few occasions & was often searching for him team partner. Bager (0-3-0-0-0-1) One good ride (when he won!), unlucky to get squeezed out a few times and otherwise found the going tough. Karpov (1-0-3-1-1-3) A bit hit and a miss. Looked pretty quick more often than not. Gating a bit suspect on occasions but in the thick of the action and good entertainment. Lokajev (3-2-3-3-2-3) Sensational. Just plain sensational if he is only 16 years old as I was told. Definitely one to watch for in the future. One hell of a gater, too! Melchorsen (0-0-0) Not on the pace at all and found it tough.

No worries, Iris. Will ask around later tonight. It shows how competitive Speedway is in Denmark. The 1st QF looks very, very tough! -

Hey Iris, do you happen to know what time these meetings start on Sunday? Looks like a couple of competitive meetings...may try and pop along assuming it's not on too early! -
Pride Of The East
MrMungo replied to Haza's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
They had the POTE as TBC in last night's programme, so I am guessing they are hoping to squeeze it in towards the end sometime, depending on weather. -
Not a good one either, although it did liven up a little after the interval, which was after heat 7...how random is that? 3 decent heats; Darcy Ward's pass on Schramm in heat 5, Schramm's and Gathercole's dice for 2nd in heat 14 & Schlein's last to second in 15. Good to see Troy Batchelor riding so well. Looked the best rider on show by far. Proctor was the surprise packet for me - didn't think he'd take to the Foxhall track. All the Aussies chipped in well, most of them improved as the night went on. Darcy Ward made some astonishingly awful gates. Hopefully he'll move a bit quicker out of the starts tomorrow night! Kennett & Woffinden pick of the bunch for Team GB. Kennett giving it everything, Woffinden fast when out in front. Barker was flying until his bike gave up at the start of ht 6 & Wright looked good until his crash. Hopefully he's not too badly hurt.

Over the last 15 years or so, somewhere between 100-200 I'd guess

Absolutely ludicrous, if true. Why a track like Grindsted would need an airfence is beyond me. They hardly ever move off the white line there!

The website pronounces "Pedersen" the proper way, not the Johno-butchered manner, which as Rabbit rightly says, is more like Petersen. -
What on earth happened to Piraterna?? Have they just vanished?
