  1. I came in a little late, and missed the first few heats, so not sure who the co-commentator is. Generally speaking though, they have the same guy each match who is joined by an expert, which varies from match to match.
  2. Netherlands Mark? Did you use Google Translate by any chance?
  3. Agreed, Henry. The said the track was waterlogged earlier in the day due to all of the rain that they had over the weekend. That's what caused the damage. One of those instances where some sort of track cover would have saved the meeting and a LOT of hard work (and driving around!) by the track staff
  4. Track conditions don't seem ideal! Still lots of track work going on, and it's still not 100% decided that it will go ahead. Track was apparently extremly deep earlier - lots of track work gone on since then, but a few ruts have appeared...:/ No Kenneth Bjerre tonight. østergaard replaces him as a B rider. Kikkenborg is also out, replaced by Thornblom Meeting put back 30 minutes, so I assume it's due to start sometime after 6pm.
  5. Grindsted Kenneth Bjerre (A) Michael Jepsen Jensen ( Linus Sundström ( Johannes Kikkenborg (D) Jesper Søgaard © Holstebro Bjarne Pedersen (A) Aleksandr Lokajev ( Andriej Karpow ( Jonas B Andersen © Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen (D) Match begins at 5.30pm UK time tonight (Monday). On paper, I would have expected a home win, but Bjerre is rather inconsistent this season, and Sundström seems to have lost a bit of form for one reason or another, so expect this to be a close one. Jesper B is back at Holsted replacing the ever unfortunate Hougaard - will be interesting if he can re-kindle some kind of form there. Remember seeing him fly round that track when he was 16. An exceptional talent at 16. He really looked like he could be the next big thing, but for one reason or another, it never really happened for him. Not to the extent that I and some others were expecting, anyway. Outrup are the visitors on Wednesday, and they've openly admitted they have put together a side that's a bit on the cheap side for this match. Bit of a shame really, as it could potentially have been a great match against the local rivals, Holsted. As it stands, I'd expect Holsted to win comfortably, but I also never expected Slangerup to win at Outrup, so what do i know? Holsted Nicki Pedersen Jesper B Monberg Martin Vaculik Rasmus Jensen Nicklas Porsing Outrup Kenni Larsen Claes Nedermark Charlie Gjedde Jonas Raun Marc Randrup Match starts at 5.30pm UK time on Wednesday.
  6. So it's your fault my stream is playing silly buggers? I have moments when it goes a bit funny for 15-20 seconds, but rest of the time it's fine. The Danish commentators are generally very calm and laidback. It's almost as if they are discussing the meeting amongst themselves, and don't entirely realise it's being broadcast to others aswell. That said, hopefully they will ask Jacob Olsen to commentate at some point. One of the best commentators in my opinion, and most definitely more exciteable than most! Vaculik withdrawn from the meeting.
  7. He's ridden a grand total of 1 meeting in the Danish league this year. The reason why he (and many others Brits like him, like Morris, Morley, Blackbird, Jacobs, et al) are not riding in the PL is that many(not all) promoters would prefer to bring in a new rider from abroad & gain an asset (£££) as opposed to taking a Brit on loan, and thus paying a loan fee. My opinion, anyway,. Or possibly they think that foreign riders with unique names make better speedway riders. Who knows! Gained a lot of experience from the same guys he rode with for the whole of 2011??
  8. Agree with much of what Adz says in his report. Really thought Rye House would have had the upper hand in this match, but an off night for Rye's number 3 and an excellent display by Mildenhall's number 3 seemed to be the difference. Several mistakes and falls from both teams, which probably evened itself out somewhat by the end of the meeting. Really good to see David Mason get up from that awful looking smash. Sure he'll be feeling second hand for a few days though! I know he has a few critics down Ipswich way, but thought it was great to see Kevin Doolan in the pits helping the Mildenhall guys. A lot of riders wouldn't bother, and would happily bugger off once their "shift" has ended. It may not have made any difference to the final score, but good to know that there's riders out there willing to get stuck in and help out.
  9. He turned 17 during the winter. He's definitely ready for some meetings in the PL.
  10. I dare say a fair chunk of the blame will be directed towards the stocks, who apparently left it in bit of a state. Thankfully no stocks this week, so the track should be perfect! I hope! Stoke have quite a quirky team. They are very reliant on a few key riders. If the key riders click, I can see it being quite close. It'll be good to see Stoneman V Reade. Both have had some very impressive scores so far this season.
  11. Back at Holsted tomorrow night @5.30pm UK time. A few changes to the Holsted side, but they still look big favourites to me. I remain unconvinced about Hougaard, but a half decent score from him, and they'll be very, very tough to beat. Holsted Nicki Pedersen Patrick Hougaard Martin Vaculik Rasmus Jensen Niklas Porsing Esbjerg Patryk Dudek Leon Madsen Mikkel B Jensen Steen Jensen Kasper Lykke Nielsen
  12. Tom Woolley in for the injured Josh Bates tomorrow night.
  13. Think the track conditions had a bigger part to play than anything else. Both sets of riders were having a tough time out there. Thankfully all riders got up from their crashes and hopefully aren't too badly injured. Hazelden's crash looked particulary nasty. Really pleasing to see him get up from that one.
  14. Upcoming matches on Kanalsport: 30th May (Wednesday) Holsted – Esbjerg 6th June (Wednesday) Slangerup – Holsted 11th June (Monday) Grindsted – Holstebro 13th June (Wednesday) Holsted - Outrup 20th June (Wednesday) Outrup - Holsted 25th June (Monday) Grindsted - Outrup 27th June (Wednesday) Holsted – Slangerup It's a shame there's no trips to Esbjerg (Korskro) quite yet. Racing wise, it's definitely one of Denmark's better tracks, in my opinion.
  15. You don't think they're representative of Dudley fans as a whole then?
  16. Why do you assume it has anything to do with the BSPA? They seem to get blamed for everything! There is backing, some backing. Not huge amounts, but it helps. And it comes from the SCB (Speedway Control Bureau, not the forum member, FYI!) The problem is not so much that, but the ridiculous amounts of licences and fees that you need to compete in FIM events. Even when you have the various licences, and there are numerous, you still need to pay the one-meeting race fee, or whatever they call it, which is £135. The guys who were left to do with it were the guys who were either prepared to, or wanted to do it. It was nothing to do with money or sponsors. Oh, and Garrity didn't go, because from what I can tell, it was based on the Under 21 Final results, and he was below the 4 riders who did go.
  17. 7 qualified from the earlier round, so would assume it would be the same again, but not 100% sure.
  18. IIRC, it doesn't count towards the points gained during the 20 heats. It's just there to decide the winner of the meeting. The 1-2-3 of the final decides who "wins" the meeting. Nicki, for example, could get excluded (unlikely I know) but would still lead the championship. That's how I understand it anyway...might be wrong though!
  19. Lots of wind and rain seems to be on the way Erik Gundersen seems to think that Bjerre is down on confidence at the moment.
  20. Yeah, the Oddset thing has been popular in Denmark for as long as I can remember. They like the odd bet or 40. You can bet on any of the heats during the meeting - that's what the numbers are for. 21 heats tonight (assuming no run-offs). 20 heats, plus the final.
  21. Erik Gundersen is co-commentating again. He did it before, aswell. At Holsted too, IIRC. As a rule, they have one guy who is considered the anchor I guess you'd say. Another guy who usually an expert - rider, ex-rider, team manager, etc. There's also a different guy in the pits asking the questions, but he's no Daria!
