  1. There's no doubt that Poole ballsed up this time, but Buster has had more than a couple of "moments" aswell.
  2. It won't work for Coventry if either get injured! Agree about having riders cup-tied. It's a shame that so many guests are needed this year, but even so the guests should only come from the sides not in the play-offs. I'm also a bit disappointed at the number of changes from Monday's teams. Unless a rider is unavailable (or injured), I don't see why there should be that many changes.
  3. ....unless Coventry want Poole in the final & Harris/Garrity have off nights tomorrow night...!
  4. To be fair, there was an incident at Mildenhall a few seasons ago, too.
  5. Think they should make this a bit more interesting and make it a 3 Team Tournament between: Poole King's Lynn Guests Nicholls has really struggled at Poole this year, so can't see him scoring too well, to be honest. Bjerre did quite well last time around but has had some stinkers round there in the past. Schlein has ridden the track really well this year though, so there's still a bit of hope. Just hope King's Lynn will turn up with a better attitude than they did a few seasons ago, and at least make a match out of it.
  6. Okay, okay, okay, StarFever! I get it. No need to tell me about 7 times!
  7. Poole won at PE33 earlier in the year when it didn't rain at all by a larger amount, so you could argue that the rain helped Lynn's cause! I didn't think it was too bad considering the weather conditions. I've seen worse meetings at Lynn when it's been uber-grippy and dry. Track was as good as you'd expect, and there were certainly some lively moments and good scraps after 6 or so races. Some perculiar on-track decisions made by Pawlicki and Compton too from where I was standing. One, too, from Porsing who almost got Miliked. Think he may think twice next time! Credit to Magic Janowski. He's been looking the real deal the last 3 months or so. Whereas nearly every other rider out there was having good and bad rides (often within minutes of each other!) he looked superb throughout. If Poole do go all the way this season, and I feel they might, I think Janowski has been the #1 reason along with the much improved form of Newman.
  8. One can only hope that this match is half as good as the EL clash last month. Despite Poole's terrible injury run, I still feel that they, somehow, are able to find something extra at crunch time.
  9. That's what I love about this year's play offs. Got the best 3 team managers in the country in them IMO and Havelock. Think this years could be the best yet. As for tonight, both teams are scattered with inconsistent riders. Could go either way. You would have to expect KL to be really up for it though whilst Lakeside have little to race for.
  10. Perhaps Mr Lyon feels there are certain riders who could so with the extra practice!
  11. There's one Chris Harris, but there's 6 other guys in the team. It's all about what works for the team, but on this occasion, it obviously didn't work! Sometimes you just have to try new things...it can work, or you can end up looking a fool!
  12. I would suspect the track would be very different in the Play-Offs. Would imagine they tried something a bit different to see if they could give them bit of an advantage, but it failed...big time!
  13. If it is, it is playing tricks on me too! I think Louis at his peak made Crump look a little daft towards the end of the meeting aswell. Louis, Gollob, Crump, Adams - that was a "proper"(copyright Kelvin Tatum) heat 15!
  14. I remember back in 2000. Good Friday, 2000 @ Foxhole. It was a close match. Not much in it all meeting. Heat 12, and Savalas Clouting knocks off one of Ipswich's fence panels with his back wheel whilst at the back and gets excluded. The only thing he had done all afternoon. Race got stopped and re-run. And guess what? Toni Svab popped out of the start in the re-run, and the match ends a draw. And of course King's Lynn end up losing the title by just a couple of points. Chris Gay was the referee on this occasion... I'm not bitter.
  15. And of course only a couple of seasons ago, Mildenhall won the league title by staging their home leg at King's Lynn! As you do.
  16. Buxton is a track that is not always to everyones liking! Hope all the riders make a quick recovery. That's a seriously impressive score from Extance, who seems to be making rapid progress this year.
  17. If the track was good enough for heat 7 (which it clearly was not), it's good enough for heat 11. It's not like it's gotten any worse, surely? Another disaster for British Speedway - it seems something of a regular occurence, sadly.
  18. Thought that was why Morton and the BV crew were there? To make sure he comes back with them?
  19. Never seen Portwood ride so well - got to be worth a NL team spot somewhere?
  20. PK was "racing" at the speed he was, because, in my opinion, he simply didn't need to go any faster. Kerr had already EF'd, and the other 2 were long gone. He already had third in the bag, so there was no need for him to go any quicker. If the situation arose that he needed to up a gear, I'm pretty confident that he could've done so. I've seen it tons of times before. The guy in third has an issue, doesn't go at full speed to avoid any further serious issues, looks back, sees the others are getting a bit closer, so goes a bit quicker to avoid getting lapped, achieves it, and is given third. Would be interesting to see a video of that heat again though. It may be a case of memories playing tricks on me, but my gut feeling is that it should've been a 5-0 and that Kildemand wouldn't have been lapped. As for Swindon appealing the scoreline, words fail me.
