  1. "Of the Peterborough match, which was called off early on Saturday (July 19) at 11am but saw beautiful, sunny weather later that evening, Silver commented: “I make no bones about the fact that the weather was only half the reason for cancelling. But I really didn’t want to run any more matches with our existing side until I’d got Mellgren and Greenwood in." 2. Could riders still be owed money hence BSPA's decision? They wouldn't be the only team behind on riders payments.
  3. Up until the last few heats there was hardly anything in it. In fact if RTD hadn't woken up in heat 9, KL could have taken the lead! The score looked a bit deceiving with KL losing it in the last 3 heats. Some decent races towards the end of the meeting. Track was unfortunately inconsistent at the start of the meeting resulting in a few iffy moments and strung out races. Once the track got sorted out it was probably one of the better meetings in terms of racing that I've seen at Lynn at NL level.

  5. Maybe Chris Louis was just 12 months early with his prediction?
  6. Looks like there's going to be a big crowd at Sheffield tonight!
  7. He's definitely not riding. Sargeant went off to hospital too so would imagine he's doubtful too.
  8. THR - Trevor Hedge TSR - Michael Lee
  9. You can't expect poor ol' Gary Chessell to score that many, Waco. The chap must be over 50 by now
  10. He was offered a place, but Len Silver didn't want him to do it. As far as I know, Howarth was then supposed to go to Italy, but for reason didn't.
  11. Poor Olly had a shocker last night at Rye, too. Sounds like he's going through some mechanical gremlins at the moment.
  12. Do feel for Kerr, as it could've been anything. My initial thought was a flooding carb, or electrical issue. Even so, once it has happened twice & you can't find the issue, even if the 2nd bike is not ideally set up for the track, you need to switch bikes. Only caught the last half a dozen heats, but looked like another fine advert for PL speedway. Well done to everyone concerned.
  13. Which is the best track you have been to? Much depends on the preparation, but at its best there's not a lot between Peterborough, King's Lynn & Scunthorpe. Rye House the best out of the technical tracks. Which is the worst track you have been to? Oxford. Out of the current ones, Eastbourne takes some beating! Which has the best food you have tasted? Mildenhall. Which has the worst food you have tasted? Wolverhampton/Dudley. Had the worst burger EVER from there a few years back. I had to go to the toilet immediately to get it out from me. Was still hungry, so bought some crisps thinking little could go wrong there. They tasted pretty manky, too, and that's when I noticed they were 3 months out of date. In terms of facility's ie toilets, seating, access which is the best place you have visited and worst? Plymouth has exceptional viewing. Swindon is the opposite (unless you're lucky or a giant). I can't watch Speedway sitting down, it's unnatural. I don't care about toilets as long as they work. King's Lynn has definitely gone downhill in that area since they got rid of the 1st bend's toilets.
  14. Family sport when Dudley are in town? Not very likely! There are some very pleasant fans, but there are others who quite frankly need to be eliminated from the sport. Even Pearson in the pits put his head down and looked embarrassed.
  15. I really hope Steve Jones is not giving others gating advice. Sweet Mother of God! Even on gate 3 (which was far superior), he was trundling out of the start. MacDonald looks pretty steady, and when he got out of the start with the others, he looked solid. If he can make some consistent starts, he'll score points. Dwyer, again, took another hefty crash. Best wishes to him. Everytime I see him, he tends to have a big one. Hope I don't curse him! Would be a decent NL rider if he could stay on. Track was pretty inconsistent, but far better than what it was the last time I was there. "Luckily" most races were pretty spaced out, so riders were generally okay if they used their head. Whilst on the topic of people using their head, it might be beneficial for everyone concerned if the flag marshall could stay off the track whilst a race is going on!
  16. It wasn't a he on Friday night, it was a she. And she seemed reluctant to do anything. Even when the rider in the lead fell in front of the other 3, and some had to slow right down to avoid running over the leader, she still didn't want to put the red lights on! She was poor, the announcer appeared to be drunk, the track was awful, it was an awful, awful, awful night for Speedway.
  17. £6000? You are miles off. What are they made out of? Diamonds? We paid £350ish last season for 1, but I'd imagine the price varies a bit depending on the company, but never ever ever ever ever ever as high as £6000.
  18. There were times when it looked like Ricky Wells was at a funeral.
  19. Heat 22 of U19 Championship by Stefan Nielsen. Date was 20th September.
