Somerset Vs Rye House 25/03/16 League Cup
MrMungo replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Rye House now at Somerset on Friday -
Not even the riders knew, so would have thought it was unlikely. Rotten news for everyone involved. What an absolutely dreadful week for British Speedway
-
Apparently Wilkinson has a small 'brake'( ) to the collarbone, but is planning on riding Thursday

Morris appears to be named @ 2 for the meeting, so I guess he's not riding at Somerset? From Facebook: Betard Sparta Wrocław 1. Tai Woffinden, 2. Nick Morris, 3. Szymon Woźniak, 4. Tomasz Jędrzejak, 5. Maciej Janowski, 6. Maksym Drabik, 7. Damian Dróżdż, 8. Adrian Gała MANAGER: Piotr Baron -
The different coloured kevlars almost look like green and yellow from a distance.

Used to happen to Ermolenko quite frequently from memory -
Aren't Swindon already riding that night? Puzzling!
-
Is the legendary Tommy Stange returning?!
-
With averages being released more frequently, I think it's worth the risk of seeing what the averages are like when Batchelor does return. With several riders returning from injury, the first set of averages may provide more scope for changes. I'm sure Iversen wouldn't mind doing some extra meetings at the start of season before it gets busy on the continent.

Foxhall slick? Tungate would love it if he was, but it wasn't much to his dismay, and at times he was rather vocal about it, too! -

Tungate is one of those frustrating riders; when he's good, he's very good. When he's bad, he can be incredibly frustrating. He had a couple of pitiful away showings last season @ Sheffield and Glasgow from memory. Did seem to get some good engines under him towards the end of last season, so think his home form will be okay once dialled in, he may well be a mixed bag away from home though. Can be prone to a strop or 12, so he and Rosco will either get on perfectly, or there will be fireworks! -
Bjerre's (sorry Baggy!) form was actually good on the continent from what I recall; I don't think it was his form that was the issue.
-
If they're adding riders to the Draft list now, they might as well re-do the whole draft
-
That Speedway fans question the competence of referees?
-
The PR from Buxton did suggest he has better machinery than last time around. On a 3.50 average, he's definitely worth the risk
-
Full list is on SpeedwayGB site via the silly twitter feed thingy
-
I don't think Oskar is ready quite yet
-
It was meant to be announced at 7.45pm, surely?
-
I get what you are saying Baggy, and clearly his average suggests something is up with his form over here, but his scores on the continent have been good generally from what I have seen, so to me it's not simply a case of not being the rider he once was. Granted the injuries have probably had an impact, but on a 5.50ish average I think you have to take the plunge in a weakened EL. At worst, his average stays the same and he remains a smidgen frustrating, at best, he could push for the #1 position.
-
Last year, his form in Britain was not good, but he has provided some wonderful entertainment at Saddlebow Road before that. I remember it was only a few years ago when riding @ 1, he had to babysit Iversen a fair few times.

Bjerre announced tomorrow with Schlein going to either Lakeside or Swindon?
-
Spin King did mention taking the 3 pt reserves out of the equation. Seems like there's 4 clubs trying to sign a rider of a similar standard. Probably Edinburgh too. Kus, N Morris, Proctor, Fisher?

Think all of this stuff could have been avoided if they had the draft a few weeks later, as they have done in the past. It looks like the EL promoters wanted to get the drafts picks done as quickly as possibly, but it has backfired. Would have been easier if they had waited a few weeks to see where the riders were in the PL, and picked accordingly. Hopefully there will be fixed race nights next season, which should help things along.
