Future Of British Speedway?
MrMungo replied to Christopher Bcmma Cook's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There was a piece in the Speedway Star about a testing of a new 6-man race format. Wonder if it is something similar to this format? -
Glasgow Vs Plymouth Pl 05/06/2016
MrMungo replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
On the plus side, it was good to see Mike Bennett at Speedway again! I didn't think the track was that bad, to be honest. It was far from brilliant, but if you got out of the start and could attack the track & dictact your own lines, it seemed to be fine. The racing was far from brilliant, but that was probably more to do with the Glasgow riders flying from the start more often than not. In fact, there were a few times yesterday when it made me think of Exeter. I don't know if that was because Glasgow were so sharp or whether a few of the Plymouth side had the complete wrong set-up, who knows! At least it was a sunny day with no crashes! (IIRC...) -

Lakeside Hammers V Wolverhampton Wolves - 1 June On Sky
MrMungo replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Enjoyable meeting, but you always felt that Wolves lacked a little firepower; could perhaps carry 1 or 2 iffy performances, but Wolves had too many tonight. I do think Lakeside gets bit of an unfair bad reputation, it's not a bad little track, and generally does have a few different racing lines, which is what you need. Clearly when you have someone like Jonsson missing the gate on a regular basis, it helps with the entertainment. It was just a shame SKY missed the Kennett/Bridger drama, if anything did happen there! -
Ipswich V Edinburgh Pl 19-5-16 @ 7-30pm
MrMungo replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You obviously didn't go to Plymouth last week; Barker did not take Fisher out. Fisher crashed because he reared up coming out of bend 2 and slammed into the fence. -
I have no idea, not privy to that sort of information, but at least the tractor was working this week!
-
Track was like quicksand in places. If you hit it at the wrong time/place, you could go flying in the wrong direction, just ask Tungate! Hopefully he and Lambert aren't feeling too sore today.

Isn't it only 2 DU in the top 5?

And Suffolk too! 63 miles for me but other commitments mean I haven't been so far this year

King's Lynn V Poole 27/4/16 7.30pm (skysports)
MrMungo replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Newman was very, very sore last night and in a great deal of discomfort. Speaking to KN1 last night, it appears Kyle has something of a rather delicate injury, and I wouldn't have thought riding a bike with all of those vibrations would be a good idea at all, and probably bloody painful too! Kyle has pulled out of the Plymouth match on Friday, so don't think there's anything dodgy going on there, well, not as far as Kyle's withdrawal is concerned! -
Premier League V Elite League

Ipswich Vs Peterborough Thurs April 14th Plc

No offence to Dale Allitt, who I am sure will do a fine job on Thursday, but wouldn't it be wonderful if P'boro got Phil Hilton to be their stand-in Team Manager on Thursday? -
Rye House V Ipswich Witches 9th April

How on earth did Lanham score all his points? :/ -
Not sure anyone can with a great deal of certainity; some riders just perform better in one league than another for all sorts of varying reasons. Poole do also have a history of getting the best out of a rider points wise.
-
Not sure that is certain. It definitely looks like Watt will be one of the reserves, but he could be joined by pretty much anyone. Ellis' maximum last week means he's far from certain to stay down at reserve - assuming of course I read the rulebook correctly.
-
Friday's planned 4TT meeting has been postponed.
-
I think Castagna will be more of a slow burner. Currently, he's a little too cautious, and probably needs to be a bit more attacking on the track and with the set-ups. Am sure it will come, just will likely require patience.
-
Sounds like a positive meeting tonight

Kings Lynn Stars V Belle Vue Aces 31/3
MrMungo replied to semion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would have thought both teams would be desperate to get it on. King's Lynn because of Iversen and Belle Vue because they need to get some competitive racing under their belt -

One would presume that Peterborough would be moved into the Southern group if no hero can be found in Devon? Ipswich is geographically more 'southern' but would imagine moving a side who have yet to have a meeting would be easier.
