What if some british road racer or moto x rider gets to the age of 25 and thinks sod it,im going to race speedway?????????????? Simple...Then they bugger off to the Pl or El..
-
21st, i have always been in favour of 1 experienced rider in every team, but when you start to have 2/3 riders over say 25 in a NL Team then whats the point, they are not going to improve, and if they are not of PL standard by that age, then i am sorry, and it may seem harsh but they should not clog up the system for youngsters who are trying to make there way in the sport. Costs as jayne says they need to be brought down, but how it is done is another matter, will Teams agree to adhere to any points or expences limit, and more pertinently if they do who will police it..? YES there should be a points and expences limit, if Teams dont want to stick to it, then they should ride in the PL, policing it is an ENTIRELY different matter.

Jayne how many programs you printing off for sunday, double or Treble your usual number ?? you can be sure we will be bringing a large crowd up to The Pennines on sunday, despite some people thinking this is all over bar the shouting. All i can say is if 1 or 2 or more of our riders sort out there heads and there bikes, then it should be more than interesting, just hope the weather holds up, and i will be there with my thermals on, and more than a few Heathens fans. Also whats the Team news for both Camps..??
-
To my mind, not only is a points limit required, but also an age limit on how many riders per team over 25, IMO this should be only one rider per team who is over 25, some may say tough, but this is primarily a development league, alongside this i would allow only 1 Commonwealth rider per team, and yes there should be a lower points limit perhaps 40, but i would think less than that would be to drastic.

Its 1-30 and just looked outside, and its NOT so good weatherwise now, we have a steady downpour outside here in Dudley 5/6 miles from the Track, if this keeps up for a couple of hours, then the meeting will be in doubt, the forcast says clearing after 1-00 pm cant see any clear or light skies at the moment, so lets hope the forcast proves right.. My opinion is if this present rain continues until 4-00pm then stops we should be okay still, if it continues like this past 4-00pm the meeting will be VERY Doubtful, so all i can say folks is keep a constant check on weather as of NOW, IMO tonights meeting must be doubtful as this rain looks to be set in, bl**dy British weather.
-
Weather at the moment is very, very, very light drizzle, but to counter act that a good drying wind, so nothing to worry about, providing we dont get a heavy monsoon like downpour sometime before 7-30pm meeting should be Ok. I will obviously hope that "The Heathens" can take a 10 point lead up to Buxton even then i have doubts that will be enough, anything more than that will be a bonus, JG at reserve for the Hitmen will be a key rider in both these meetings, I rate Buxton as the strongest all round team in the League, so would say to any Neutrals, get along to both these meetings, they should be worth watching, and i would think very entertaining. 21st, you forgot to mention Robert Branford, and Jason Garrity, remember he is the young guy, who beat OUR Jake in the run off for 2nd place up at Belle Vue, when Nick won it..all in all a very strong top 5 at Buxton, Craig Cook,Adam Allott,Robert Branford,Nicky Morris, and Jason Garrity, though they are not the top five in the team, to my way of thinking those are there top 5 riders, now you just watch one of the other two prove me wrong. For "The Heathens" we need ALL of our riders to be on song, and hopefully e/f, and falls were got out of the way at PB last week, come on "ommer um" or at least try to.. By the way JAYNE, please make sure you Double or even treble your normal programme print for the 2nd leg please..whatever support we brought up for the league meeting, YOU can be sure we will bring up more than that this time, and i feel sure there will be a large neutral contingent this time around also..just hope the sun shines this afternoon and for the 2nd leg. Good luck to both Teams, and please a Hard but fair meeting, and NO Injuries.

Now honestly Dave you didnt think you were going to get away with that comment ?? <easily the two best-balanced teams in the league> now if you had said arguably, i would not have ignored it, I would agree up to a point, and it was only because Dudley did not announce they would be riding in the NL, that Buxton ended up with the best reserve in the NL, ie Nick Morris, personally my opinion is that Buxton have the best team, but The Heathens, must run your lot pretty close, and i guess the truth wont be known until Newport come up to Monmore, or we face each other either in Play offs or KO Cup, yes i have to agree you ommered us down at your place, but we dont have the best gaters in the world, and by all acounts, Queensway meadows is not ideal for overtaking, but my defence of that is,its the same for everyone who rides there. Also it has to be remembered we have been without our N0 2 rider all season, personally i think he would have been No1, Ben Taylor he has never completed a race for us this season, now we have lost his replacement Jon Armstrong, Then we lost our No 3 rider, Adam Mckinna he never even did a race for us, but hey we are still up there thanks to some astute signings by the management, and i will go so far as to say, had we been able to Track young Nick, it would have been a 1 bike race for the NL in all competitions, but as it is its going to be an interesting end to the season.. I just hope all this conjecture about Mark is groundless, but i getting more worried as time goes on, that there may be some truth in the Tourist visa thingymbob, mostly because NO-one has come on here to deny the conjecture, and i think you know who i mean by that Dave, as he is a good friend of mine also. anyway cant wait for Newports visit to Monmore when we should see a great match, and hopefully Mark WILL be in the Team.

Thats true Parsloes, probably only around 6 of us who contribute on here..i would guess.
-
I would just like to add there as been an almighty silence, thats deafening, from Officialdom at the Track concerned on this subject, and i know for a fact they DO come on HERE, and i am presuming they have read this thread. I honestly hope the rider is NOT on a Tourist visa, not for any other reason, than for the integrity of the Persons, Club, Bspa, and the Sport in general, I dont want to see points deducted etc, etc, etc I would rather ANY Team win whatever fairly and squarely, not because of this that and the other, that happens OFF Track. So it would be very easy to put this subject to bed once and for all.

BFD, i am by NO means a little englander, as YOU well know we have two Aussies in our Team at Dudley. My G/f just happens to be Chinese, she is here on a 5 year work permit, then she will apply for her permanent stay early next year, yes we could have taken the easy way, and got another type of licence <vows and all that> but she chooses not to. If Mark is on a Tourist visa he should NOT be riding, and it may well affect his future when it comes to applying for a future visa, Mark is no different to any other person when it comes to "Border Agency" regs, so NO i have not come out of the woodwork, i am not by ANY means a little englander, I just like to see, a level playing field for everyone, but once again the BSPA shows some degree of ineptitude in all of this.
-
My point is as Jayne has said most visa riders in the NL should be on a Youth visa, which lasts for 2 years, If Mark Jones is only on a visit Visa, then thats why he has to return home, and VISIT Visas are NOT allowed to <work> have a Team place, because thats what they are VISIT visas, unless Mark has other valid reasons why he has to return home. Quote from jayne; If this is true then he shouldn't even be in the NL as a 6 month visa (which I'm presuming is what is referred to) does not permit you to race. The youth mobility visa lasts for two years and is the one that the commonwealth riders need to race in the NL.end of Quote.
-
Montie Quote Thats what Montie wrote the other Day, so i guess someone needs to protest to the BSPA, when they are riding against Newport, and every NL promoter needs to be checking the validity of the visas they have. I respect Jaynes Knowledge of visas, she has been doing this long enough now to know what is what. I have nothing against Mark Jones, but if he is only on a "visit visa" then i know he should NOT be riding for a team, and thats why Tim Webster, and Danny Halsey, and other riders without Team spots are being hard done by.

Steve a question, i read somewhere further up in this topic, that there were a 100 or so Heathens fans at Poole, from what i have been told this guesstimate was way out..how many would you have estimated..??

Steve definately want to see you at Monmore, so we can get our revenge, keep pushing CVS for a date, i could see a Sunday meeting at Monmore, even if its a double header, that would be a tremendous afternoon early evenings entertainment, with a fantastic crowd... -
Sorry Ken,had my blonde head on, thought it was a home fixture against Rye..now realised i miss read it, and as alan said IOW are away AT Rye...
-
anyone doing updates, now i never did updates before, but i can phone the heat winners through after every race if anyone is interested..
-
Jeez Ken are you telling me Paul will ride at Rye House at 2-00pm, then travel to the Island for a 4-00pm Tapes up, whats he driving a ferrari GP car with Scumacher driving.?? I mean the rye fixture will probably end at around 3-30 or we will be generous and say 3-00pm..that leaves 1 hour to get down to the Ferry, cross and get to the Track.. Now i just checked on Multi map, and its 110 miles from Rye house to Portsmouth, now if it was Tapes up on the Island at 6-00pm then that would surely be more realistic.

Re-match against The Heathens at Monmore Steve..?? well it should be a walkover for us then.. -
Bob C, Tom Perry i think would have probably been 14 in 2007, and he has supposedly not ridden a speedway bike until this year, but is an accomplished Grasstracker. With regards Richard he was at reserve at Bournemouth, but still scored 0 points, he should be almost one of the best reserves in the League.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.....sahshshshshshsh, dont tell him i changed his name from Harkins..
-
There was a way we could have fitted in Jerran Hart at the Heathens, who would have been my chosen replacement for Jon, I am not the manager of the Heathens, and we all have our own opinions. You read,i read, and most others read various Teams are looking to strengthen, and i just made a comment that some Teams could, if they so wished fit in both riders, but of course that always means other riders losing their Team place, thats always been the case, and always will be. Back to Danny and Tim, I am sure it wont be long before both of them find team spots, and i wish them luck in that..
-
Ha Ha, u the same guy that makes the point it must be costing us a fortune to track our present team, we have two guys in our team that are not improvers one is British and was recently signed, the other rides better for himself, than for the team. mate are you saying if your Team were up there in your League you would sign one for the future, rather than go for winning something this season if you had the chance..???? Bullsh*t and you know it.. No we are NOT desperate to win a Training League, we are desperate for our OWN Track, but if the oportunity comes along to win something along the way, then we will take that also. I Suppose being a Monarchs fan you dont want to win the PL, or should i say the Training League for the EL.. Oh while we are on the subject, how are MacFisher,MacWolbert,MacWethers,McBugjego, and McKatijisto Oh looks like you will win the EL Training League again, sorry i couldnt spell some of those true Scottish names, give me Bert Hoskins, Dougie and Willie Templeton,Bobby Beaton, Jimmy Mac,Georgie Hunter, Ken Mckinlay, not forgetting the late and great Johnie Hoskins..any day of the week..

I see these two young riders are looking for Team Spots, any of the bottom three teams could fit both of them in by redeclaring, and to be honest,i am surprised none of them have done so as yet. I know it will mean other riders losing a team position, but both of these guys are young British riders with improvement in them, and why other more experienced riders who have been around the circuit for a number of years, and have reached there level long since. remain in teams,i just dont understand. I am not talking of the experienced riders who average 8/9 up to a point i can understand that, i believe every team needs to have one very experienced rider, who can pass on his knowledge of set ups etc, i am meaning those that average 5/6 points or even less, and will never get any better except for the odd meeting here or there.
-
Fair comments from some fair minded fans, but another point i must make is Richard Franklin, he is better than this, but he is really struggling at the moment, remember its only two weeks since he stopped Jake from being on the podium at Belle Vue, he really must start turning his individual displays into points for The Heathens, if an arm round his shoulder, or a kick up the a**e dont work then there remains only one other option, so come on Richard turn that ability into points mate.... How we missed Armo, it would have been reasonable to have expected him to have scored his average of 8 + at least, and all i can say is well done to the Buccs, you can only beat whats in front of you, and you did that, for Dudley it was a case of if buts and maybe...
-
Good luck Tim, i can think of a few teams who could do with your points scoring ability..
