  1. I am of the same opinion as you 21st, but i guess the attraction is that he is expected to improve on his current average, and he can gate which we need, a steady rather than spectacular rider, but i think this signing counts out my hoped for signing of either Jake Anderson or Paul Starke, unless one of the two in aussie land dont re-sign. That second reserve spot signing is looking all the more important now.
  2. Byron Becker signs for The Heathens. http://www.dudleyheathens.co/news.php?extend.454
  3. Byron Becker announced as Our New signing, good luck to him, and The rest of The Heathens, so far its Royno, Dazza and Byron.
  4. I am not sure there has been an agreement on this, we were asked at a Heathens Forum, if we wanted Darryl Ritchings at reserve, to find at least 20 rookies of NL standard in one go, may well prove to be not possible..
  5. Hmm, Worrall and Birks, Aitkin and Pickard that would be a pretty strong top 4, only needs a 3 pointer to score 5,s and 6,s to put you in as favourites for the title, you certainly will take some beating in 13 & 15.
  6. I thought i had heard Mark Baseby was retiring from Speedway, because it was to expensive, in fact it was said on the DVD of the play off final.
  7. It will be nice to see you back over here in 2012 Gary, but please bear in mind, we need to see competitive racing, in the recent past this element seems to have been forgot, i would much rather see a strong difficult to beat American Team, than a couple of decent riders backed by complete Novices, Your Team will need three Good Class Heatleaders capable of beating ANY NL Heatleader, then you will be able to get away with the Novice/Junior riders, but it is getting a little repetitive now to see DT Teams getting steamrollered. I mean this Gary as a word of advice, because i do like to see the Americans over here. but you will need to be competitive.
  8. Well it seems The Heathens are already planning for 2012, according to the website riders who are NOT guaranteed a Team place for next year have been informed, that they may look for another team, amongst those informed were Danny Stoneman who received a text informing him his services were not required in 2012, good luck Spike wherever you end up.
  9. Yes, i will 2nd what 21st says about the local Council, it is an insult to the Heathens name to even have it associated with this Council, just to be called The Heathens would be enough, yes it is very unpopular, and hopefully the promotion will see sense and drop the name. To everyone who doesnt know, the Wolves and Heathens put up with each other, but that is all, if any Wolves fan comes along to watch a Heathens meeting, then it is the hope that they will see them lose, and vice versa.
  10. I am sure he/she supports all Heathens, but getting info about whats happening is proving really difficult, mostly it is Thanks to BFD that we get to know anything at all, and i am sure we are all greatful to everyone who posts any little snippets,so thanks for your info about Ash, 771neill, and i hope is Ok.
  11. I am sure Newport must have discussed going NL, sometimes dropping down works, sometimes it doesnt, Mildenhall have struggled,IOW have struggled but seem to have steadied the ship, Stoke 1st season seems to have been a success, Supporters would always choose NL over No speedway at all,but it needs to be viable, and i suppose it all depends on the costs of rental at Queensway Meadows, maybe this could be re-negotiated. Alternative income streams need to be investigated, and Stock Cars have already been mentioned, two others could be Stunt events such as Eddie Kidd in my day, maybe 2/3 per year, when we held them at Cradley, as Main Man knows the support for these were FANTASTIC, ques outside stretched 100,s of yards/metres, also a very good money spinner are Sunday Markets, LSD,s Bescot Market is a very good money spinner for Walsall FC, and there are operators out there who will run them for Newport Speedway. Possibly Car Auctions. Whatever, may i wish Newport Speedway all the best in there endeavors to keep Speedway alive in Wales.
  12. Congratulations to Darryl Ritchings on winning Rider of the Year, voted on by the Clubs supporters, Darryl made it a Double by winning the Trophy for most bonus points over the Season, The most improved Rider award went to Ashley Morris. Full report here. http://www.dudleyheathens.co/news.php?extend.441
  13. I am not thinking along the lines of complaints, but more along the lines of a PL/EL team out of Central Park, and a NL team out of Iwade.
  14. Have to agree with you BFD, but Kyle Howarth has had a good season, and Richie Worrall if he gates will take some catching.
  15. Yes,positive waco, but it looks likely Sittingbourne <Central Park> may want to go straight into the PL, however would it be possible to still run NL out of Iwade, without taking support away from Central Park.
  16. Thanks for the updates Dave, will be keeping an eye on our Two boys from the Heathens, watch out for Tom Perry, likes to do it the hard way, by missing the gate and working his way through from the back, especially likes the wide lines, Ash maybe not so spectacular and prefers inside to middle lines, again he is not the gating type rider, but can make it more often than Tom, which of them will impress the Most ?? i will go for Tom with his spectacular wide riding style, should suit Aussie Tracks or maybe the Tracks will suit him. The Worralls both of them are fine prospects and i would suggest Richie is more of the Gater, whereas Steve has slightly more ability from the back, look forward to seeing Kyle later on the Tour, just a pity you couldnt have got Ashley Birks over there with the guys.
  17. Have you come down yet duffy,? its just a pity you cant bottle the roller coaster emotion and feelings, you all went through, but one thing i can assure you of, you will always have that memory in years to come, cuz YOU was there.
  18. Duffyscouse, one of the best write ups i have ever read, niceone mate.
  19. Mildenhall 92 Scunfield 93. Must have been tremendous to have been there, Scunny needed a 5-1 in the last Heat to get a Victory from the Jaws of defeat, and Richie beat Cameron by centimetres, to give them that win. Well done to the Dual Team NL Champions for 2011, commiserations Mildenhall, but you have a nice KO Cup to make up for it, so everyone is happy.
  20. Meanwhile whilst all this is going on, the most unbelevable comeback has happened, log in to updates folks, you wont believe what you see, cant believe after 12 races Scunny have just 16 points, but as they say, seeing is believing.
  21. Only to pleased to help, would it be feasible to use Poole Stadium ? in the short term, similar to what the Heathens have done, or maybe Somerset would be a better option. Just a thought. Also it may be worth doubling this up in general discussions, more visitors than in the NL section.
  22. First of all, the weather, it is a good forcast with no rain forcast, the meeting itself, i think without Lambert and Isherwood this will cost Stoke, though i just love to watch Garrity, i think Stoke will win, but not by enough maybe 4 to 6 points, good luck to all the riders, and stay safe.
  23. Why did you even bother replying ?. TMW, do you live in a different World ? one where something is given to you on a Plate, cus if that World exists tell me about it, b,cuz i have never come across it. In all walks of life surely its mostly about dedication and sacrifices to get where we want to be, unless we have a rich sugar Daddy i applaud Deanno for coming on here and talking a great deal of sense, from a riders point of view, and not just a keyboard cop. He talks/writes a great deal of common sense, okay agreed not all straight forward with regards occasional rides in the Pl, but from the NL perspective it is enlightening. Other careers pay you to learn, but they mostly pay at an existance level, same for the NL, its not about buying Joe Knickersons Gp Bike, having the latest bike Covers, Gold Chromed Wheel Rims, or the sexiest i Phone , its a learning process and Mechanical Knowledge surely needs to be part of it.
