  1. No I wasnt at the Track, so i wont criticise, the referee decided the Track was rideable, so that has to be the yardstick used, but what we must remember these are young and for the most part inexperienced youngsters, several of whom dont have a Team place, obviously they will be trying to prove a point, well done to them for trying to put on a show.
  2. Haha, im pretty sure they and others may be looking at this right now, it will only need armo to fall down the stairs or sommat.
  3. I trust you are joking, its not April 1st yet or is it, and remember Royno, is Coventry full time, Tom Pom, Byron and Daryl ride for Dudley South. This has to be close, i will go for 46 - 44. Its The Heathens uncertain middle order & The Storms unproven reserves, which will decide the meeting.
  4. I take it you have 1st hand experience of "The Mob" Shadders ?, whilst i do not in any way condone what has allegedly taken place at times, in fact i condoned it on the Heathens Facebook page, The Mob as you describe them, are far and away a minority, whenever i have been on an away day, there is mostly no trouble, the IOW and Stoke to name a couple, with just a few incidents highlighted on here, and at both i recall, there was a little baiting from BOTH sets of fans, so please Shadders dont believe all that you read. From ONE of the Mob.
  5. Yes, you are correct of course, old habits die hard, or so they say. must be the Silver connection, Im sure Nikko will forgive me, it is indeed The Sittingbourne Kings.
  6. Cant see Mildenhall being Top 4, best i can see is 5th. IOW, Stoke, Rye, and The Heathens are i think stronger, Im expecting to see Lambert at 6 or 7 for Rye.
  7. Wooden spoon, dont make me loff, in Jacobs, Greenwood, Sarj <temperament may be suspect> you have potential for all of them to be 8+ riders this season, Brendon, will be looking to get his career back on Track, and Franksy will average his usual 5=, but for me your weakness is at reserve, young Carr would have been my choice for you, but i guess he wouldnt have been your asset, that may be the reason why you didnt sign him, and he would in my opinion be looking to push for a 1 to 5 spot this season, but back to wooden spoonists, there is one Team who currently need to strenghten up, who unfortunately appear much weaker than any other, and it certainly aint Coventry.
  8. So 2 weeks on from the AGM ie is it Top Secret, will the information will be released in 50 years time . Is it right to treat spectators as someone to be put up with, rather than informed of whats happening within the Sport, absolutely DISGRACEFUL no information has been forthcoming from the agm, is it any wonder spectators are turning there back on the Sport ?. Why on earth have the NL Clubs reappointed Mr Morrish, as the NL co-ordinator, when there are far more people able to fullfill this role ?.
  9. Basically the draw has been done on a regional basis, why dont the powers that be just say that, as for dates, why doesnt the NL use it as a seasonal Opener, then go into League meetings.
  10. The 2013 PR is being released in time for the 2014 agm, but they wont affect 2013 racing, bcuz no-one knows what they are.
  11. I really cant understand why The Heathens are not in the NT last year the excuse was not enough available dates, at a recent Forum CVS stated when asked a question about the number of available dates, he said that available dates would,nt be a problem for PL racing, so why should it be a problem for NL racing, something seems not right with this.
  12. I dont really know where all this underestimating of Ricky Wells ability comes from, he is still young, and a decent Elite 2nd string, and a half decent PL heat leader, who should easily be The No2 rider at Sheffield in 2013, yes sometimes he should be scoring more than he does for Sheffield, I mean double figures at Monmore 1 night, and single figures at Owlerton a few nights later, doesnt add up for me, and can be the only criticism of him.
  13. I am led to believe the guest rider ruling may well be changing at the forthcoming agm, for teams who have a 2nd injured rider at least.
  14. Only read bits and pieces of this Topic over the weeks, and it sems Machin is programing his Team to a budget, whoever he signs as the last rider, there is only one place Sheffield are going to finish this season, and they will need strong shoulders, I think its about time either Machin got a partner in, or for the future of Sheffield speedway sold up.
  15. Mick all those Stadia that had money spent on them, which was government provided., but now they are feeling the pinch, due to the economy.
  16. I am a former greyhound owner/Trainer, as per my name, yes figures are missleading, especially when taken over a short time span, if we look over say 3 years, what stadia have opened succesfully ? I am afraid to say i can think of none, but yes Coventry has reopened, but it was an existing stadium, so can we class it as new ?, and Towcester is planned to Open in 2013. Closures, and this is off the top of my head; Oxford, Portsmouth, Walthamstow, but what is really worrying is the threats hanging over Wimbledon, Belle Vue, Hall Green, Swindon, and to a lesser extent Birmingham & Poole, the only reasons the latter two are a little safer is that they are Council owned, but be assured Both The GRA and Stadia UK are only in this to sell Stadia, and line there own pockets, and top up pensions, the income they receive from greyhound racing itself, will barely cover the wage bill of these 2 organisations, so they have to sell stadia from time to time, so that they can continue. Whoever thinks Greyhound racing is thriving is living in cloud cuckoo land, Owners are down, Trainers are down, Spectator figures are down, Indeed there is a shortage of dogs themselves, Yes there may be an odd exception to this, but they are the exception rather than the rule, Stadium Closures continue as before, and as in Speedway the spectators are very much the same who went racing 10 years or more ago, except for the Saturday night 6 packers, and they are only in it for a piss up, and good night out, before they go Clubbing, very few if any attend on a regular basis from these promotions.
  17. Surely young Carr has to be the replacement ?, if not, why not ?.
  18. Hmm,looking at the various Teams, there is not one who stands out; Buxton, Far to early to say as not many riders declared yet. Kings Lynn, Could be the Dark horses this season, Mallet, Young and Kerr, 3 decent Heat Leaders, and in Hazeldon if he recaptures his early season 2011 form they have another Heat leader. Coventry; They have 2 very good youngsters to lead them in Sargeant and Jacobs, Greenwood will be a good 3rd heat Leader, its Coventrys tail which may let them down. Kent; Impossible to tell but probably have the basis of last seasons RH Team, and if they have Robert Lambert, at reserve then they to will be up there. Stoke; Some very shrewd signings made by The Potters; Smart, Hughes, and Reade are as good a Heat Leader trio as any in the NL, surprised they didnt resign young Carr. Mildenhall; Being led by Stefan Nielsen as good as anyone in the NL, great to see armo back, but he isnt the rider he once was, they are pinning there hopes on Bates and Stoneman i believe. Dudley: Led by Morris and Blackbird, i think the 3rd Heat leader spot may be the weakness for Dudley, and if young Greaves doesnt settle in pretty quick, we may struggle, best signing for me is young Max Clegg. IOW; The management on the Island have really made people sit up and take notice with there signings this year; Perry, Bekker and Ritchings all ex Dudley, and in Ellis? well his late season scores were an eye opener. Really its difficult to pick out four definate play off teams; but here goes; IOW, Stoke, Kings Lynn, and Dudley, but Kent with Lambert, Mildenhall and Coventry could all easily be up there, it only needs 1 Team to have a progressive rider, and another to lose one, and the predictions go out of the window, all in all a very interesting season lies ahead, may the BEST Team win, who at this moment in time, i think are The IOW.
  19. yes, I have to agree with you there BB, probably made because possibly a bit more improvement average wise in Ash than in Tom, but i think probably Tom is the more consistant of the 2 riders, and definately the better rider, with regards The final signing I wish him all the best, but i would have preferred a younger rider.
  20. On The Heathens Facebook it is to be announced on Wednesday at 12 noon.
  21. Lets have a bit of fun, while we wait, who might this Final rider be ?. I dont think it will be one of the current unsigned under 5.34 average riders from 2012, but my personal choice from them would be a fully fit Marc Owen, which leaves us with someone who rode prior to 2012, and having scanned the 2010/11 seasons averages i cant see any likely prospects, which leaves us with an assesed 5 point rider, thats what i am going for, who is it ?, I have absolutely NO idea.
  22. Apparently the final piece in the Jigsaw will be revealed next wednesday, i look forward to the announcement.
  23. If Buxton could tempt maybe Chris Schram and Joe<James> Cocker<Cockle> to ride, they would have the makings of a half decent Team.
