Well done to everyone, Yes IOW are a strong Team of that there is NO doubts. A message to Kent, you have to realise, and realise VERY quick, this is a Stand alone Team, and as such you Stand or fall on your results, YES you could put out a Team like this as a nursery Team, but as a Team on there own you cannot Track a Team thats going to struggle to get a result at home, and wont win an meeting away. Now i dont know if Kent intend to only do 1 season in the NL, but what i do know, is they need to strengthen up, you cannot go into Meetings with Coles, Woods, Kirby, and Kingston, they are all more or less all 3 point riders, Mason is past his best, but its understandable to have an experienced rider as your captain. I dont know what the average situation is, and having an 11.38 av rider, and a 7.32 av rider who is on the way down, doesnt leave much room for manouvre, but for there own good, this Team needs strengthening. I dont mean to criticise, i want to see Kent competitive, because the novelty of being a new Team/Track wont last forever.

Hmm sorry to read your thoughts on NL racing screamer, i dont see any "wobblers" for The Heathens, yes i do see some for other Teams, i saw Richie Worral, Jason Garrity, Nick Morris, who were far from steady 2 or three seasons ago, now look at them. I presume YOU drive or ride ? think back, what were you like when you began either, a "wobbler" i would hazard a guess. However i do believe being a stand alone status does have a bearing on attendances. -
Hmmm, you know what we think of the IOW Team here in Heathenland, the circuit at Kent should hold NO fears for Tom, and Darryl, they spent 2/3 seasons respectively at a similar sized Track in Monmore Wood, not forgetting Danny S has similar experience on smaller tracks, and yes young Ellis is the ACE in the pack, if needed. Steve and Ben will be competitive, but its the middle and lower order where it will be won and lost. Good luck to both Teams, and stay safe, nothing is won in May, nor in 1 lap.

Really pleased for Berwick, eddie is a class rider, but in Paul Starke, you have signed a rider who may not ever be a World Champ, but he is a good Team man, and can gate, he has shown over the years he is keen to make his mark, hence Travelling to Plymouth, Travelling to IOW, and up to Newcastle, and thats for so called Home meetings This year he has signed for The Heathens in the NL <wow> almost on his doorstep, and again shown his determination by signing for you, and Home meetings on his doorstep <not> given the time he will make his mark for you, maybe not as a double points scorer, but as a solid 4/5 point man, and be honest ALL Teams need them.

Really kent could not have a tougher start to there competitive season than this, sorry to say, i can only see one Team who will win, lets just hope there is some good racing.

Yes I agree, but your promoter has the Guts to at least try NL racing, if he offered some incentives to supporters, Im sure they would support NL racing in sufficient numbers. Im quite happy to put up a Trophy for another Meeting between Storm and the Heathens later in the season, if it means Storm continuing for another season. -

Do you think, The Chapmans could offer some sort of incentive, just as an occasional thing, to get the stay away fans through the gate, maybe the offer of a free admission to supporters who attend 4 EL meetings and retain there tickets, they can see 1 NL meeting free ? some sort incentive like that. Yes i agree they are missing out on some good racing, but getting them through the gates apart from dragging them kicking and screaming, is so difficult, kids for free definately is the way forward, but maybe with an adult. -

I really will have to give up on my forecasting of results, i never get them right . however it could have gone either way, and i think Im right in saying, probably the Young stars threw it away, with to many falls. -

Good luck to both teams, Shane Hazelden at reserve, who would have thought it..Im thinking the Young Stars have a little bit to much all round strength, but probably a close meeting, in prospect. -
Kent Kings V American Internationals 6/5/13

Shadders, thats a lame excuse the PP for Kent means meetings have to be over by a certain time, now what if young Mr Garrity or Robert Lambert were at Kent? -

Nice explanation, and the final point, shows the inexperience of a NEW track, and shows why its always best to have a challenge match for the first meeting, to iron out any faults, before a competitive meeting. -
Well done The Comets, and i am particuarly well pleased for Ashley Morris on his Birthday, to score 15+ points albeit against a poor berwick team, was his best PL score, and if there was any doubts in his mind that he can compete at this level, this must have put them to bed, what is even more encouraging is the times he did were competitive, some times you can see reserves winning races that are a second or two slower, but this was not the case yesterday.Im sure he must have enjoyed the long journey back down to the midlands.

I am hearing that Jake has been blocked, possibly on the grounds that he has ridden in the Australian Championships, now if there is NO NL ruling stating that specifically, then i am thinking Jake is still elegible to ride NL as he has Scottish relatives, and if i was IOW i would be looking to get some guidance from a on this, because as most of us know, most NL rules are made up as they go along.

Bryn, not getting carried away, but we up here in Heathen land, can see the potential in your team, and if you get get Ando, whose average is i believe a high 6, 6.85 or 6.95 then you will take some beating, he has a higher away average than he does home average, bcuz he never took to the Monmore Track, i dont see anyone stopping you on the island, and away, you will give everyone a run for there money, bcuz you have a certain Master Ellis down at reserve. Good luck guys, cant wait to see ya up at Monmore wood.
-
To be honest mate, you aint gonna be the only Team to take a Ommering down on the Island, dont know how young Ellis has done, but he is without a doubt, the best reserve in the League, and capable of beating ANY rider in this League.
-
Its a bit late to put this up, but tonight sees the 2nd leg of the National Shield, the Heathens hold a 4 point advantage from the 1st leg, Rob Branford Guests for Ash Morris, R/R for Josh Bates for the tigers. I really cant see anything but a win for The Heathens, but it only needs Starkey & The Beast to have off nights then anything could happen, but my forecast is for a convincing home win, probably by around 15 points.

Dudley Wood, with Gundersen, Penhall, Hancock, Pederson, Hamill any 4 from 5, and an away team of Nielsen,Olsen, Collins, Moran yes, the Track may have gone, but the memories remain.
-
haha, we will see when they visit Dudley north.
-
So its okay to see a Team put out an uncompetitive team, ? no that goes to the root of the problems in British speedway.

As i understand it Robert Branford made a very late decision to return to the Uk for the start of the season, possibly due to his recovery from the injuries he sustained in 2012, hence why Buxton did not re sign him for 2013. Byrons case is the opposite I think, in that he expected to be fully recovered for 2013, but has obviously not done so. I really would like to see IOW sign a high calibre NL replacement, but they are few and far between, hence why I mentioned Jake, another possible could Allott be persuaded to return to the Track ?. As for Mickey <flyer> Dyer i dont think he is eligible for NL racing, his average is to high ie over 4 PL, and he has a PL birth, it used to be that anyone who had an average over 4 could not race NL, unless he did not have a PL Team place, however Im not sure of the relevant ruling these days, ie no info from the NL agm, however Im sure Malcolm or Jayne will clarify what the current ruling is on this.
-
As i said as far as i am aware Jake does have Scottish Ancestry, and he has a great average for the NL, Im pretty sure he has the necesary qualifications, but does he want to do both, is the question, a good team man, i remember when we were up against it at Buxton during there all conquering season, not only did he score well on Track, but he was going round helping and encouraging the younger riders.
-
Have to say, you were certainly slow out of the blocks regarding Branford, Jake Anderson is back in town riding for Plymouth, and Im sure he has the nesecary credentials to ride for you, if he wants to do NL as well as PL. Cant think of another rider who fits the bill, and its an hammer blow for you so early in the season.
-
So i take it the three people one would be the rider, the other two would do it for free, <nowts for free> or if it is, a Top Spanner man certainly wouldnt be free, not all riders live in London so added to that would be cost to get to London and back, we can ALL do figures to make them seem genuine, but yes its a great guide to what riders need to spend. Thanks for doing the basic costings wizzer, but how many times does the cost out weigh what we budget ? unforseen costs involved and we all know that often happens. The figure i gave was for a rider who competed in the Under 21,s in 2012, and the info came from a person who knows the rider very well, in fact he sponsored him in a small way in 2011 and 2012, so i have no reason to doubt his figures of aprox £800 expences and £200 subsidy from the ACU.
