Yeah, am thinking of coming down to this, but its been peeing down up here in Tom Perry land.. -
Thanks DD, Nedermark or Poole would be my idea from the above riders, I await the news of your proposed new rider, however there is a rider who may be available, from the Leicester squad, it may be worth a phone call to Leicester to see if a deal could be done, the rider i would suggest you look at is British, I have NO doubts you would love to have him in The Devils Team, Lymington isnt a million miles away from Plymouth, and boy he is fantastic with the supporters, average wise, i think he would just SQUEEZE into your points limit, would Leicester let him go ?? Hmm i dont know, but its worth a phone call, If you dont ask you dont get, and Im sure its NOT difficult to work out who i am talking about..but unfair to mention him by name, what is certain is Leicester have to release someone, and you need a rider, THIS guy is the real deal, on and off Track.
-
Just a few riders who arent riding at the moment ie even if they are available; Richard Sweetman, Kyle Legault, Taylor Poole, Justin Sedgeman, Jonas Raun, and one who i might suggest has some unfinished business down at Plymouth, Claus Nedermark. I am not for one moment suggesting any of the riders are available or would fit in down at Plymouth, but there is not exactly a long list of riders around the 7 point mark.
-
So by my reckoning, you have room for a 7 point man, if Klingon hasnt clung on.
-
Hmm, is this sour grapes, or is there some truth in this ? i would have taken this with a pinch of salt, but from someone who has a commercial interest in the sport, and is respected.......
-
Gustix, you saw the finger/s comment, did you not notice the at the end also, anyways i wont be commenting on Adams ability again, his scoring is doing it all for him, I just hope JTW has the good grace to come on here, and say it seems he was wrong.

Listening to Radio Wm, and Wolves v Brummies, i was thinking Nico Covatti would be a good signing for a PL Team, a rider who can gate, and also by all accounts is exciting to watch, even if he isnt Klingons replacement, what would he come into the PL on ?.
-
With regards Klingons replacement, it appears some people are in the know, but are awaiting the official announcement . I would just like to say i am really pleased to see Jake Ando scoring some points, when he rode for the Heathens in the NL he was a good gater, never really got the hang of Monmore Wood, and had an higher away average than at home, he was a good Team man always offering advice and support to the younger guys, he was at that time a better rider than Micky Dyer. In my opinion he is a better rider than the 3 point average he has, never gonna be World Champ, but on decent equipment should more than hold his own in the PL, 8+ at Leicester, 8+ at Dry albeit from 5 rides, is a much fairer reflection of his ability i feel, so if the other riders can get some consistency, he could be a match winner along with Hot Toddy down at reserve. Klingons recent form, has been pretty poor, and i dont know what average he signed on, but from his last 28 rides for 18 points, which equates to an average of 2.57 that was not good. Whilst the focus has mainly been on Klingons form, Schrammys recent scores have been equally if not worse, i have just checked, and his average is 6+ however in his last thirty rides, he has had 1 second place, the remainder being either 3rds or 4ths for a total of 12 points from those 30 rides, which is a 1.6 av for a 6+ rider yes he is a great guy, and a trier, but there comes a time when thats not enough, that time is fast approaching.

Is there a cryptic clue in there somewhere ?.
-
Pleased all round with this result, buxton for gaining another win, and Kent for an improved all round display, Buxton is not the easiest track to ride, and i really came on here to see where the Adam Kirby slaggers are, 8 points from his first 3 rides, oh they were against joe bloggs and Mrs mopp so they dont really count well done Adam and tough luck with your bikes kiddo, seems you have carried on from where you left off on Tuesday now is that one or 2 fingers i can see....
-
Well it seems Klingon has ridden his last meeting for the Devils, would Taylor Poole fit ?. Schrammy needs to turn his efforts into points, or would the Devils be better replacing Schrammy with a 3 pointer, and bringing in an even stronger replacement for Klingon, I dont see any obvious ready made replacement 3 pointers in the NL at the present time, so that avenue would seem not a viable suggestion. So who is it to be to replace Kling ?.

Leiceter Vs Plymouth 25/5/13
greyhoundp replied to lionking's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Shadders, i take your point, but there are a few riders who would like better equipment, so its still valid that points are whats needed, and when a team is stuggling, every point counts, you know your own Steve Boxhall only has 1 bike, but it certainly motors. -

I think Plymouth need to shift Klingon out asap, he has clung on far to long, Lemon is clearly now on a downward spiral, Schrammy great bloke, buts its points that are needed, so i think find adequate replacements for them, and The Devils wont be far away. -
I really can see Kent winning this one, especially if armo is carrying an injury, Halsey is no more than a 6 point away rider, Bates is hit and miss, Baseby, well he really is one of yours, the 2 reserves could be the difference between the 2 sides, with Branford possibly being the only rider who offers a challenge to your heat leaders.
-
I take it you were there JTW ? , adam was leading the Heathens No1 in the one race when Ash brought Adam down, In the others he was competitive, meaning a close up second, so if you werent there, i suggest you keep your bare fact observations to yourself, and let people who were there say it as they saw it, adam improved as the meeting went on, which is all you can expect from a young rider.
-
Jeez Vog, thats a bold statement to make, however Im guessing you are going on previous Teams who have topped the League, only to fail in the play offs.

Berwick V Newcastle - Live On Sky - May 21st

Iv said before, The PL should negotiate its own broadcasting Tv deal.. -
Well they are certainly favourites in my eyes, and in Adam Ellis they have a match winner, Tom Perry hasnt hit top form yet, neither has Tom Young, so there is more to come. I can see this beeing a big season for the Island, just stay safe.

Yes, there are no easy pickings there, Buxton not the easiest of Tracks to ride, Mildenhall the 2012 Treble winning team, and The IOW, many peoples pick to be Champions in 2013. The management have done what they consider the right thing to do, really it was Boxhall or Mason, that needed to be changed, Boxhall has done nothing wrong, so Mason had to be the fall guy, wether or not Benji will do a better job than David, remains to be seen. In my opinion it is the balance of The Team which is wrong but had Lambert signed, it could have been the right balance.
-
Yes Adam Improved as the meeting went on, and had 2 very good and competitive second places, Are YOU joking Gustix Buxton harder than Dudley ????, You must be the only person who thinks that..except probably Buxton. Yes Adam Improved as the meeting went on, and had 2 very good and competitive second places
-
Wow, a Top 2 off Boxhall and Compton, backed up by young Ben, sorry for David, but the Teams needs had to come first. Nice to see they have realised things needed to be done quickly, well done to Kent, a hard but brave move.

Well here we are, middle of May, and we have seen 1 Challege meeting, 1 Trophy meeting, and still nothing until next week, now Chris Van Stratten publicly stated, having more than 16 meetings was NOT a problem, so why WAS the short sighted decision taken, to NOT enter the NT Trophy again ?, The riders need the rides, and the public want to see Speedway. Im expecting to see the usual rush at the back end of the season to see meetings hastily arranged to fit in with the end of season deadline, will Speedway promoters never learn from past mistakes.
