Centre Green Parking At Blunsdon
greyhoundp replied to Adder's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To be honest guys, most of this is irelevant if you dont get the Track built before The Houses, you wont even have a center green. I can see it now, Year 1 Stadium demolished to prepare the land for Houses, and new Stadium. Year 2 houses being built and land for Stadium lying idle. Year 3 Houses completed, land for Stadium lying idle. Then some years down the line when the salary monies and pension funds need topping up, in goes a planning application to be built on the disused eyesore site that WAS to have housed the NEW Stadium. That is the scenario you need to head off, any planning application needs to have the proviso added that "The Stadium is rebuilt before the Houses" or i guarantee you there wont be a Stadium. -
Dudley Heathens V Kent Kings, Nl, 30/7/2013
greyhoundp replied to a topic in National League Speedway
I am in Dudley 20 mins from Monmore, we have had no rain since yesterday afternoon, Wolves rode there last night, this morning its been light grey skies, with sunny spells, if it stays like this 100% on. Will keep you posted if you like. -
Dudley Heathens V Kent Kings, Nl, 30/7/2013
greyhoundp replied to a topic in National League Speedway
If this meeting had been ridden 2 weeks ago, it would have been a 60+ home win, usually The Heathens can be expected to rack up middle to high 50,s scorelines, however Im expecting Stevie B to score in excess of 15, then The Heathens Ash & Starkie to out score Ben and Mason, but Benji and Connor if they have there gating gloves on, could hold there own against Gareth and Dan, down at reserve The Heathens have Nathan and guest Lee Geary, up against Adam and Jack, the Kings could outscore the Heathens here, its definately a home win, but by how many ? Im going for a 10 point home win. -
Kent Kings V Buxton Nl 29/7/13
greyhoundp replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway
Well done Kent on your first ever win in the NL, i hope your winning streak doesnt stretch to 2 meetings seeing as you are up here in The Black Country tomorrow. Steve will likely score 13+ and I think your reserves and 2nd strings will hold there own tomorrow, but Im thinking maybe its your 2nd and 3rd heat leaders who will be up against it, against there opposite numbers tomorrow. -
Kent Kings V Buxton Nl 29/7/13
greyhoundp replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway
Yes the Kings have a more solid look about them now, but Buxton had the result of the season last week at Mildenhall, this meeting is close to call, but much will depend on the 2 No1,s Steve and Charles, Im going to predict this is meeting The Kings will gain a very narrow win. Jack Kingston is a young lad, who is keen, however no points are ever given, but they are sometimes lost, jack needs to realise he is the junior of Kings 2 reserves, and as such 3rd place is all that he is required to get for now, and he has 4 laps to get that point, good luck to both Teams. -
just starting to rain down here in Dudley, heading northwards, still only very light stuff at the moment, so hopefully you will be able to get this meeting over, before it gets to heavy.

If you want a Stadium, just make sure it gets built before The Houses do, if you don't, you will never get it built. Still waiting on Bristol, Still waiting on Reading, Still waiting on Milton Keynes, and if the houses get built first at Swindon, it will be the same scenario. They will take the money to pay salaries, Top up the pension pots, and submit another plan to build houses on the speedway site, in a few years. -
I have noticed this season, there are very few thread starters for meetings in the NL, my own Heathens have an odd meeting thread, whereas in seasons past, most meetings there was a thread about. Kent seem to be just about the most regular contributers now, Buxton, Stoke very little. I don't know if this is due to Fb or Twtr or more worryingly a general lack of interest in NL racing.
-
I will give you another, James Wright, I saw him at Buxton before he had even ridden PL, and thought tremendous prospect, this year he has retired from the Sport, or at least is having a break.
-
Well done Buxton, a tremendous win, has to be the result of the season, in any League, and Charles Wrightski surely deserves a ride or two in the PL.

Kent Kings V Stoke, N Trophy, July 15,2013
greyhoundp replied to a topic in National League Speedway
So no doubts we wont see JTW coming on here to say well done, though he is quick enough to say otherwise when he doesn't do so well. One of these days we just might see The Kings top 3 all score well on the same evening, at the moment it seems if Ben does well Benji has an off night, and if Benji scores well Ben has a poor night. That all illusive first win, surely cant be far away, especially if Jake Knight has signed, Kent badly need a solid 6 pointer in there, who can score the odd double figure return. -
I presume he rejected your advances again, you went pretty quiet for a few weeks, now you are back with your snide comments, JTW there is some woodwork close to where you live, do us all a favour, and climb back into it. This meeting wasn't only lost at reserve, take a look at the Heat leaders scores.

Buxton V Coventry (the Storm) 7/7/13.
greyhoundp replied to Gemini's topic in National League Speedway
any away win is vital NO matter who it is against, especially in Storms position, of pushing for the play offs, and Buxton have Charles Wright, no mug anywhere, and good for 18 points at home, so its never a gimme at Buxton. -

Yep, That's the name I was trying to think of Neil. -
I still have Stoke to win this, all round the better Team, now if you used Michael Neale in there somewhere then there is a possibility, but I don't see your bottom three getting enough points to win this, Boxhall good for 14/15, Morley maybe 10, Compton the same, Kirby maybe 6, still leaves you short, but if say Michael Neale could be used at 6 or 7 then that's completely different.
-
No, I don't think so, Smartie, Priest, Reade if fit, hughesy if he has a bike, and Payne and Chessell will carry to much fire power for The Kings, now if it were at Central Park, then I would agree, however I wouldnt mind if I was wrong.

Really a post from someone who should realise Adam is returning from a serious Head injury, and been out since the 1st week of the season, to expect him to hit the ground up and running really is to much to ask. Really those comments are totally unjustified, there is not many who try harder than Adam Roynon. I really wish it was possible for him to hit his pre injury form in the return, and ram the comments where they deserve to be.

Mimmo, I am having the same problem, sometimes I can get round it by using enter, down arrow and space bar. -
King's Lynn V Mildenhall (nl) - 3rd July
greyhoundp replied to Mimmo's topic in National League Speedway
I don't dispute he is a vast talent, but let him have 1 season in the PL, its hardly going to hinder his progress is it ? you know let one or 2 of the older heads maybe rough him up a bit, have a go on a wet track with a mouthful of shale in his face, then go for EL, Polish League whatever in 2015, he will be what ? still 16 at the start of the 2015 season, maybe only just under 17 but nonetheless still 16. -
King's Lynn V Mildenhall (nl) - 3rd July
greyhoundp replied to Mimmo's topic in National League Speedway
Fully agree with this, Buxton will be an interesting Track to see him on, as would Monmore Wood, both Technical Tracks, hopefully if The Young stars get through in the KO Cup or into the Play Offs we will see him at one of them at least. However I am not knocking his undoubted talent, just walk before he runs... Why not ?. -

Yeah Lewis is flying at the moment, but you know all these guys are racers, so I do think it matters to them, if they win lose or draw. -
