  1. Well that was a surprising result, not so in the outcome, but the 56-34 scoreline to The Heathens, never in my wildest dreams did i expect a 22 points win, and i cant really see any way back for Kings Lynn at the Norfolk Arena, For The Heathens there Heat leader Trio only dropped 2 points to the visitors from 14 rides, They were backed up solidly by Gareth Isherwood, and a returning to form Dan Greenwood, who scored paid 10 from five rides, Nathan Greaves again struggled, and i think fell in all his 3 rides, Max Clegg rode well for his two points if one can say that , and was ridiculously excluded in Ht 14 for allegedly bringing down Jake Knight, when he clearly didnt touch him, that would have been another 5-1. For Kings Lynn Lewis Kerr was there star rider, but for him it would have been another 60 point scoreline, he was involved in all the best races of the night, Jake Knight and Darren Mallett tried hard, but the others were simply blown away, which brings me to Robert Lambert, out on the parade wearing his shades, jeez it was overcast, walking towards the starting line he chose to walk on the inside away from the crowd, and all the remaining riders, that was just an observation by me, but now to his riding which we all wanted to see, i expected something special we certainly got it, in his 1st ride he gated and was gone, he was miles in front when he locked up on turns 3/4 and fell, he got back on to finish 3rd wheelying over the line. In his 2nd race he missed the gate, and was pushed out wide, then on turn 4 he drifted wide and kissed the fence, gradually caught up, but then coming off the final bend, he got a handful of throttle lifted and fell as he crossed the line, 3rd race something wrong it was an ordinary race, and he came a fighting 2nd, having seen off Dan Greenwood, 4th race he was off gate 2, Starkey off gate 1, Starkey beat him to the bend, Robert got squeezed and fell, then stayed down to the annoyance of the crowd, The Heathens were on a 5-1, his final race Ht 15 off the outside, his bike failed on the start line, so to sum up an eventful 1st visit to Monmore Wood for young Robert, but hopefully he will have learnt something. All in all a good meeting for The Heathens, some good racing involving Lewis Kerr, Paul Starke, Ashley Morris, and the invincible it seems Lewi,Lewi Blackbird, a good advert for NL racing..and well done to The Heathens. Greyhoundp as you wont accept PM's can I remind you here please to put DATES in meeting topic headings when starting new topics
  2. Well the weather has been cloudy all day, but luckily its stayed dry, should be a cracker of a meeting, im just setting off, hopefully we can get a double figure lead, to take to the 2nd leg. Ommer Um.
  3. Waco, I first saw Jack guesting for Stoke last season, his bike was misfiring badly, and he looked steady, and picked up his points by just staying on, somewhere on the Kent posts early doors, i wrote decent signing and a steady rider :D I think i was very much wrong with that summary, well the steady part of it anyway.
  4. I do bow to your knowledge on this matter Gustix I posted this in the NL section Gustix, as they are primarily NL riders Kyle Howarth and Daniel Spiller being the exceptions, if the mods feel it should belong there maybe they will remove it. However if we want to split hairs, tell me what section should the Kent V Wimbledon topic be in ? this is The National League, and i dont recall seeing Wimbledon riding this season in the NL..much as i would have liked to see them riding in ANY League , now theres a point, would it be possible for Wimbledon to ride out of Central Park, similar to The Heathens do out of Monmore Green ?. With regards to the riders chosen, i have already asked why Jack Kingston is NOT included in the full line up, as at this moment in time, he riding better than, and will over time be a better rider, than some of those selected, he is far better RACER and rider than his 3 point average, he just needs to gain more experience of when to overtake, and when not to, he doesnt sit behind and follow back wheels like a lot of riders do, if he is 3rd he wants to be 2nd, if he is 2nd he wants to be 1st, but he will learn with experience when the time is right to either hold what you have, or use the whole four laps to make those moves. What i will say is this, i wouldnt be unhappy if he were in The Heathens team, though Im sure he is happy at Kent, and im 100% sure, they are happy with him.
  5. Looking at wednesdays forecast it may well prove to be next wednesday, bcuz it doesnt look good.
  6. Tomorrow sees the visit of the in form Young Stars, with the first Monmore Wood visit of Robert Lambert, who is being touted in some quarters as the new "Woofy"and backed up by Lewis Kerr, those two are arguably the strongest top two in the NL. The Heathens will need to be at there very best to take some sort of defendable lead to Norfolk the following night, in my opinion we will need at the very least a double points lead to defend in the return leg. I think we will be in for some exciting racing, and even without Robert Lambert a big crowd would be guaranteed, but Im sure many neutral Speedway fans will want to see the first appearance of Robert Lambert in the West Midlands. Good luck to all the riders, stay safe, and hopefully we will be in the form to "Ommer Um" maybe not by 20 or so, but hopefully a teen figure lead, the Young Stars will be tough, probably the toughest of all, because i expect the winners of this, to go on and win The KO Cup. Teams, DUDLEY: Paul Starke, Gareth Isherwood, Ashley Morris, Max Clegg, Lewis Blackbird, Dan Greenwood, Nathan Greaves. KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Lewis Rose, Darren Mallett, Jake Knight, Lewis Kerr, Shane Waldron, Shane Hazelden, if Lewis Rose is unfit, then RR will operate.
  7. I also notice that he is not in The British Under 19 Final at Coventry, i have no idea why that is so, as i would have expected to see, the best of our under 19,s in the line up.
  8. Thanks for that Mr Presenter, now i can understand what some supporters are moaning about, Three riders 3 points between them, and no extra rides for Dan G, long way to go to see your Team lose, and riders to have practice.
  9. Anyone got the points scorers from the meeting please ?.
  10. Here is the final Line up for Coventry on Friday sept 20th, DRAW: Stefan Nielsen, Nathan Stoneman, Ashley Morris, Nathan Greaves, Max Clegg, James Shanes, Liam Carr, Ben Morley, Darryl Ritchings, Adam Kirby, Josh Bates, Adam Ellis, Oliver Greenwood, Connor Coles, Kyle Howarth, Daniel Spiller. Reserves: Jack Kingston, Ryan Terry-Daley. I dont know who selects the riders, but do they ever watch NL racing ?. Nothing against Adam Kirby, but at this moment in time, Jack Kingston is far more deserving of a place than his fellow Kings rider, he has made impressive strides for The Kings, whereas Adam has if anything, gone backwards. For me there can only be one winner here, and Thats Kyle Howarth, with Adam Ellis and Stefan Nielsen to make the podium.
  11. Cant believe no-one has put up a topic yet, so before i go to work, here it is. Im going for a narrow away win for The Heathens.
  12. Looking at the League Table, if Buxton beat IOW by only 6 points or less, this coming Sunday, then IOW qualify for the Play Offs, if they beat them by more than 6 points it goes down to Buxtons final League meeting, where they need a win by more than 6 points. Basically Buxton need 2 x wins by more than 6 points, so this weekend is all important for Buxton and IOW.
  13. Put me down for The 2 Dudley riders, It will be a pleasure to sponsor them Lorro. I actually might have a tenner on Farloe Tango in the Greyhound TV trophy Wednesday night, see if i can get some more for my money.
  14. All i can say BB is Buxton have a meeting at home this week versus IOW, and by a process of elimination they have a final meeting, i am 99% sure, it is against Stoke.
  15. Should be a good meeting in prospect, and what Im really pleased to see, is Tom Perry seeming to be over his latest injury, and if he is fully fit, then The Islanders fans are in for a treat, I know the big sweeping bends on the Island will suit Tom down to the ground, and there is nothing more exciting than seeing a fit, confident Perry making his wide outside passes, I believe the Islanders management are very pleased with Dazza, but they havent yet seen the best of TP. Kings will believe they can win this, but can Stevie B overcome his recent engine gremlins, can young Jack stay on for 4 laps, those two will dictate how close this meeting will be for Kent Kings, because Im sure Ben,Benji and David should be good for half a dozen points apiece.
  16. Waco, if your guys gate against The IOW, anything is possible, our gating won it for us over at the Island, and to be honest outside of Blackie and Starkie, we are not renowned for it, but as you know The Islanders are a completely different proposition on there own Track. I have a soft spot for Kings and The Islanders,as can be proved by my visits to both of your Tracks this season, and a bigger difference in Tracks you wont find anywhere. I from a purely selfish point of view hope The Islanders win, i prefer to see them in the Play Offs, and hope then The Heathens choose Mildenhall, because that puts IOW against The Kings Lynn Young Stars, and i think The IOW can stop the late season charge of Lambert, Kerr and Co.
  17. And at the end what would you say ? It looked a real dogfight down in Kent today, and it looks a fair result in the end, Kent took the win, and IOW took the away point, which in the final points countdown could prove vital. Kents Jack Kingston continues to improve his 9 paid 12 from six rides were interspersed with the usual fall, and EF,when this boy learns how to stay on, or when and where to overtake he will be a real match winner for Kent in 2014, and for me he has been there real find for Kent Kings, yes Stevie B has stolen most of the headlines, but Jack has come on in leeps and bounds, when i saw him guest for Stoke last season, he looked a steady rider, but nowadays he is anything but.
  18. Usually if i remember correctly he was last by the end of the 2nd lap, but yes he certainly entertained us.
  19. Hmmm, i was there didnt see any trouble..Impressed with Lewis Kerr & JJ, also our own Maxy Clegg, Nathan is having no luck at all, at the moment, only bad luck, good win and a battling performance from Storm, the reserves were the difference.
  20. Maybe its because there are only 8 riders in the NL currently averaging over 9, and Dudley just happen to have 3 of those 8. I dont think its any biase towards Dudley, but for me the top 16 whatever Team, should be in the NLRC.
  21. Im still trying to understand, the thinking behind this, Stefan has earned his place it the rebels Team, and did not deserve to be dropped, obviously he had upset someone, because this cannot be justified by the points he has scored. I think the management need to come out, and clear up the real reason behind this. I cannot see the 2 replacements scoring any more than Stefan would have done.
  22. Now if The Storm could manage to win this meeting, that would put them on 22 pts, and would ensure the qualifiers going down to the wire, IOW currently have 18pts with 3 meetings left Kent home and away, plus Buxton away, i can see a home win against Kent, but away ?. Buxton currently have 13 pts with 4 meetings to ride, away to The Heathens, and home meetings against Mildenhall, IOW, and i think Stoke, i take Buxton to win all 3 but only a 2 point win against Mildenhall, and amazingly after so long being winless, Kent are still in with an outside chance, if they won there three remaining fixtures. So if Storm could win, it would certainly put the pressure on for that last qualifying place.
  23. I was directly in line with the starting line, same level as the fast food bar, above that was seats, and behind them was the refs box, and immediately above what appeared to be a tunnel, i never walked down to see what was there. The announcements are not very clear, and there was breaking up of the voice, as waco said you have to try to listen to make sense of the announcements, for a speedway follower, you can make some sense out of them, but for a newcomer, it could prove difficult to follow.
  24. An amazing decision by the Somerset management, i think there has to be more to this than meets the eye, Tough on Stefan he has had a good first season at Somerset, he wont be without a Team for long.
  25. Good post KWG, I dont share your confidence, about it being ours to lose. The reasoning i dont share it are Robert Lambert, Lewis Kerr, and Lewis Rose, whilst Shane Hazelden being at reserve is a complete mystery to me, he has all the ability, the Monmore Track like Kents isnt the easiest track to overtake on, and KL have a few gaters in there ranks. When the Young Stars visited Monmore LR scored 14 from reserve, Shane Hazelden scored 7 in the main Team, in addition KL have Jake Knight and Darren Mallett both well capable of scoring double figure scores reguarly, they are the Team who in my opinion are most likely to stop us winning the KO Cup and League, they have all round strength, and an outstanding rider in Robert Lambert, we perhaps slightly edge it in the all round aspect. Back to Kent, you have a tremendous set up down there, and i fully expect you to be challenging for NL honours next season, yes i do expect you to remain NL for at least one more season, if only to recoup the cost of setting up The Track, buying an air fence etc, etc. Then in your 3rd season i think you will be looking PL, but you have the potential, and crowds to be in the highest ranking Speedway in the UK. I was well impressed easy to get to Track, outstanding facilities, friendly crowd, just one little complaint, that speaker system, i did overhear the same complaint from one of your own supporters when i was leaving the Stadium, all in all you can be well pleased with your first season at Central Park, and heres wishing you have many more of them. Here is a little twit bit of useless information for you, your Chairman Roger Cearns, his family i am 99% sure used to run Wimbledon Speedway/Stadium back in the day, so its definately in his blood.
