Well for sure Vog, Danny Phillips WILL be in my Team.. Just need to find the 6 others to go with him lol.
-
Haha, Thats true but some Team Managers have had several months, i will take a few days over the weekend, and hopefully come up with a team that can produce the goods.
-
Right lads lets have a bit of fun, pick YOUR team within the averages, then at the end of season, we total up those seven averages, and the highest combined average wins. So come on, we all fancy ourselves as Team managers lol, lets see who can really do it. It would be nice if Proud Potter, Jayne, and Dale would join in . Averages to be The official green sheets only. Whoops I forgot my old mate Main man, Im sure he would love to choose a team for this, but then I guess he will have no choice but to pick The Storm team..
-
I would have thought Nathan Stoneman, would be a good shout for a Team spot at Lynn, I read on his Facebook recently, that he is NOT an asset of any Team..
-
Of course there is a way around it, or is what the EL is doing with NL riders at 6 & 7 illegal ?. No quite simply it only needs a pick of draft NL riders at 7 or 6 & 7 for it to be possible, where there is a will, theres always a way, especially in speedway.
-
Nathan Greaves, yes its going to be tough for him, because he has moved up in to the main body of the Team, but Im expecting him to be able to handle that.
-
I really think that with the shortage of Heat Leaders, the NL needs to reduce the points limit in the NL, i think a 36 point limit would be better suited at this moment in time, especially with many riders now doing all three Leagues. This would open up positions for the Gearys, Dwyers, and such like, who really need to be racing League Speedway on a regular basis, against better riders to improve themselves. And while Im here, I would like to acknowledge the Job Scunthorpe did in bringing on young Max Clegg, many seem to think it was Cradley where he first emerged, 2013 was his 2nd season of NL racing. Im looking forward to seeing how Nathan goes this year in this his 2nd season of NL racing, he tended to get overlooked bcuz of Max,s progress, Im hopeful it will be comparable with Max, already he is on a par on the bigger Tracks, he just needs to improve on the smaller Tracks to make significant improvement on his average.

Just a slightly different choice of words "The IOW" staged PL racing, but i believe i am correct in saying even then it got in to financial difficulties, which it is paying off until this day.
-
So following on from the sad but inevitable decision at this late stage of the close season. Does anyone have any IOW shares they would be interested in selling ?. Yes i am aware I can approach the Chairman, but would he be keen to sell shares to someone who would like to see Speedway return? .
-
I am so pissed off to read this, with more notice of the mounting losses, something could have been done to avoid this, I await the details with interest. Cant help feeling for the IOW supporters.
-
My only regret is The IOW seem to have missed a trick, but this is great news nonetheless.
-
I would think if you could get Mikey Neale back it would be like for like, him and Matt. I did mention a few names Byron, Rob, and how about a phone call to James Birkenshaw, he wouldnt make a bad No1.
-
No reason to gloat, if someone poached our riders, we wouldnt be happy.
-
Which rider stayed behind after one meeting to give some advice, when Nathan was having a tough time, and doing some after meeting laps ? Yep Paul Starke.
-
Yes we have a Stadium not a shop, now hows about we try being relevant to the Topic title.
-
But if the other three shops are set up to support the continuance of the fourth shop, what then ? Im the sure the Clue is in the title of the company, Isle of Wight Speedway Ltd, its not called that for nowt, and why have loses spirraled in the last two years? all overseen by the Chairman. So in looking at your viewpoint BB, it could be said the 3 shops are NOT doing sufficient to support the fourth shop..LOL.
-
Gotta be Starkey, Tom needs to concentrate on his racing, big,big year for Tom, could well define the rest of his Speedway career.
-
Where do you get the feeling Nathan could be a problem ?, yes he suffered a loss of confidence around Monmore, but he did well away from home, this season there is no doubts the League as a whole is weaker, and there is the advantage Nathan is young, 2013 was his first season, he can gate which is a heck of an advantage, NO i dont have any worries about Nathan. You have Max who mostly does well at home, so everyone thinks how good he is, and Nathan who mostly does well away, which most fans dont see, so doesnt create such an impression, but they are both great young prospects. Ommer Um.
-
Yes, confirmed on the Cradley web site, Matt Williamson is the final Cradley Heath rider, good luck to them all for 2014.
-
Its seems a pity, there undoubted fighting spirit, seems no longer shared by the Chairman.
-
You may well be right about that, LOL perhaps they sell the Sunday Mercury up in Yorkshire, I dont know where i thought Nahan lived in Brummie land, i think it was from a few years ago, when he first rode a few speedway tracks.
-
Next rider announcement is on Sunday, rather an unusual day for such a thing, but it appears there is due to be an article in the local Sunday Mercury newspaper, with an iterview with the rider concerned. my betting is its Nathan Greaves he lives within the catchment area of the Sunday Mercury, role on Sunday, when another piece of the jigsaw is revealed.

Thank you Bryn, at last there is some clarification of what Income streams there are outside of the Speedway, and The Speedway itself is part and parcel of Island Speedway (IOW) Ltd. Yes maybe the crowds are low on occasion, but The Company is in a position of having income other than just the Speedway income, which is what lots of Clubs dont have. This gives hope for the future of Speedway on the Island.
-
Yes, he would do a good job for Buxton, and would mean he could stay Midlands based, if not fit at the moment, then perhaps later in the season we could see him back on Track. A possible Heat Leader trio of any three from four of Branford, Carr, McKinna, and Bekker wouldnt be to bad for Buxton.
-
No Im not putting this up as an advert for him, but as there is a shortage of riders, is he fit to ride NL in 2014, he could if fit do a job for someone, and there has been NO mention of him anywhere.
