  1. Not being smug Paulco, just check Zummersets home form, almost as good as my own Cradley Heathens.
  2. Neck on the block here, no chance Glasgow will get near to Zummerset.
  3. Toms career has stalled over the last since couple of seasons, including this season, really needs to push on, and gain a bit of hardness in his racing, maybe develop a bit of NP,s attitude, also machinery doesnt seem to carry the speed he used to have,, for whatever reason. good luck at Wolves..
  4. If the crowd was down, then it would be due to various things, firstly the World Cup, secondly the ommerings, and for some people the irregularity of meetings, it was comaritively local for Stoke fans and we havent had a meeting for weeks, so it should really have been a decent crowd, Im sure the promotion will be taking note of crowd figures, either we dont build such a strong Team or we move up to PL for 2015.
  5. Yes thats all well and good, But next season Starkie and Steve wont be with us, The season after it will probably be Max and Nathan, this really is where we need our own Track, with a PL and NL Team to see the progression through year on year out.
  6. Is there no stopping the Heathens steam roller ? another 60+ Ommering, i really think this season could be our swansong in the NL, okay its still early days, but cant see anyone even getting close at Monmore, yeah we may lose 1 or 2 away, in fact thats the best way to watch the Heathens, least its more competitive.
  7. Yes gustix but remember the old saying, bad publicity is better than NO publicity, and its surely better to discuss than to agree with the party line..
  8. Agreed, up to a point, he won his first easily, was chasing hard for 2nd place in his second ride, when he got badly baulked by the falling Matt Bates he had no chance after that in that race, in his third ride again he was chasing when he hit a hole going in to turn 3 and fell, and he won his last race as to be expected. so to summarise, two easy wins, an unlucky third, and his other fall to be honest he would have easily took 3rd in front of Stoneman so he would have scored 8+2 for his first meeting back from a month away with injury. Included in the riders that beat him, or would have were his own No1, the Demons No1, and the Demons best rider on the day, so lots of positives, and consolidated up at Glasgow with 5, and good reports from people who saw him ride, Tom always gives 100%, never gives up, and when he is on form everyone hopes he doesnt gate, because he loves winding it on and is great to watch from the back, like i said a more than useful 4/5 points a meeting rider.
  9. Yes, its a great pity for Stoke that Mcbain is out injured for this one, I think Widman could be a bit of a thorn in the side though Vog, as could Ben Hopwood, so i would expect Stoke to knock in somewhere around the 35 point mark, no mean feat really at Monmore Wood.
  10. Doesnt look like it, but the point Of the post was Tom IS available Plymouth needed someone and i suggested him, Tom rode as a guest yesterday for Glasgow, his 1st look at the Track, and scored 5 points. There are Teams around the country who Tom could do a job for, I dont understand why he has NOT got a Team place, yet riders from afar struggle to get points. Tom wont get you double figures, but he will give 110%, and pick up those sometimes vital 3/4,s.
  11. I have heard, the Kings promotion are using jungle drums as opposed to the internet for promotional purposes..
  12. Tom was a little unlucky yesterday, but i can see why you would prefer to keep James Shanes as reserve for the devils, Tom did score 5 guesting for Glasgow today, which was his first ever look at the track. Still think he can do a job for someone in the PL.
  13. Well done to Stoke represented by Ben Wilson and Jon Armstrong, but dont expect it to be so easy on tuesday .
  14. Guys am i correct in thinking as i travel along the A38, the St Boniface Track is over on my right, but i have to leave to my left (obviously) then go under the A38, is there a Junction number ?.
  15. Nice to see a Nl meeting being run again at Plymouth, cant see this beeing to much trouble for The in form Heathens, with Tapes up at 1-15, and a good weather forecast, Im expecting to see a large crowd for what will be my first visit to Plymouth. Im expecting The Heathens to be scoring close on 60 pts here.
  16. The scenario, Im a casual fan living local to Kent Kings, beutiful sunny summers evening. I think i will go to the Speedway this evening, so i put my shorts and shades on, when i get there its off (due to a waterlogged Track) Im thinking to myself, is someone having a laugh, it aint rained all afternoon.. You when you score own goals like this, it one heck of a lot to get these people along to the Speedway again, they will choose to go elsewhere, where they can chill, and have some entertainment, and a .
  17. Maybe it was raining at Rye House, and the management forgot, it was Kent they were running on mondays.
  18. Scunny run fridays, Storm fridays, plymouth saturdays (eventually), Stoke saturdays, buxton and mildenhall on sundays, i would have thought at least 2 of them could have held a meeting. shakes my head in disbelief.
  19. We are now into the 2nd week of june, the 1st weekend has just gone, I simply cannot believe there was NOT ONE NL meeting run over the weekend just gone, plz plz realise its a summer sport, i will say here and now, and say it again i do NOT want to be freezing my wotsits off, watching Speedway on a freezing cold October evening but it WILL happen as it always does, will promoters never learn ?. They wonder why supporters are drifting away..
  20. I take your point, and you are obviously more aware of the situation between the two Teams/Clubs, however as a non local, but as a Speedway fan, i do read a fair amount and draw conclusions be they right or wrong. Rye House Run by the same people as Kent Kings, Len Silver & Co, Rye House on a downward spirral on track, on a downward spirral supporter wise, and PR none exsistant, except for my way or no way.. supporters nowadays simply wont put up with that attitude in this day and age, otherwise they will vote with there feet. Kent Kings Great Stadium, fantastic potential, great catchment area BUT Crowds are down, Track isnt perfect, Team has weaknesses, and PR has gone the same way as RH almost none exsistant, can anyone point me in one direction that Kent is an improvement on Rye House ?.
  21. I really worry for Kents future, if you want to know why, just read the Rye House v Somerset thread, it seems to me Kent are being run by the same people, are Kent heading in the same direction ?.
  22. I dont know, but i know deanno was looking for one.
  23. Rachel Corden is the person who needs persuading to see Speedway at Colwell Park.
  24. Lets just hope, the weather will play ball, should be a good afternoons racing.
