Taken from the updates site Waco, and it was a riders mother doing the Texting, so they must be pretty spot on, Yes Kent really need to get there act together at Buxton tomorrow, but with Ben back and Lambo getting straight back on it tonight, you should be able to win tomorrow comfortably, especially with Buxtons best rider missing through injury.

Stoke look to have it sewn up, but some mystifying RR choices by Kent, surely anyone could have taken RR rides ?.

If the Promoters at Stoke Speedway dont want to promote The Speedway, SELL up to someone who DOES.

The Future Of The Elite League
greyhoundp replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Orion, Im 5 miles from Poole, I saw the Leicester Team and thought NO way am i going to watch that. Is that self explanatory, meaning its not value for money nor entertainment, it does not rock my boat to go as a neutral to see less than half a Leicester Team perform against a Poole Team that has just walloped the League leaders away from home. -

Poole V Leicester 20/08/2014 Leicester turn up with 4 Guests and a No1 who is a late arrival, need i say more as to why the EL has had its day. -
Im thinking this will be a double win for The Young Stars, with the returning Tom Stokes down at reserve that gives them added strength down at the bottom end, Scott Campos seems to have upped his game recently and tonight will prove if its a temporary thing or at last has he found the fastest way round a speedway track, Marc Owen is slowly finding his pre injury form, for Mildenhall Josh Bates will be a big miss i doubt they can adequately cover his rides which swings the meeting in KL,s favour. Im sure The Stags will put up a brave fight but obviously only the scoreline remains in doubt, just a couple of points here Rob, I dont understand why the Stags persevere with Steve Jones, yeah he may be an older head, but really thats all he brings to the Team, his scores are not much better than a youngster would get maybe a couple of points difference, 2nd point i would have thought maybe you would have tried to get Luke Harris to ride, he is certainly worth a Team spot somewhere.

I have always followed Kents fortunes, and great to see you up there in 2nd place, its still in your own hands to an extent, just to let you know KL have still got to ride against Cradley home and away, so that must put your hopes up, Stoke we have done the double, so cant help you there.

The Future Of The Elite League

Yes you are correct, but also so far as i am aware there was something new about Morley not riding for Lakeside but riding for Kent (another twist of the rules ?) someone suggested its because Morley isnt a Lakeside asset. Well can i put that arguement to bed. I think on 2 occasions maybe more, Max Clegg & Tom Perry both Cradley assets have had to miss Cradley meetings because they have been riding for EL Teams. Then on September 1st we have The Under 19,s a National Championship being cancelled due to a clash with EL meetings. So may i ask how was ben Morley allowed to ride for Kent Kings and NOT Lakeside today ?. It doesnt bother me but a precedent seems to have been set now NL over EL Draft ?? over to the BSPA make the rules up as you go along committee. -

Lets look at tonights EL meetings; 1st Wolves couldnt field a full strength Team because PP decided for whatever reason (Despite riding over the weekend) he could not be arsed to ride for them tonight so we had the RR rule so the spectators lose out. 2nd Belle Vue; billed as a double header and a 7-00pm start, The first meeting started very late and was abandoned after 12 completed races due to very heavy rain, the 2nd meeting never took place, so again the spectators are short changed and lose out, due to an avoidable late start and unavoidable weather. 3rd meeting Coventry apparently we had a ref who was a little shall we say different in that he had his own ideas on interpretation of the rules the outcome, we had riders needlesly excluded, again the spectators lose out.. In all three meetings the spectators lost out, and thats part of the reason Speedway especially the EL is dying on its feet. -
Peterborough Panthers 2014

Hall, Royno, Dilger, not the signings to make the Play Offs, Hall as has been said Ok at Sheffield, Royno really struggling to find some kind of confidence and form, and Dilger ? well Im amazed there are better riders out there and whats more they are english, you all mentioned JJ being dropped, and Olly not being recalled, well another who would have done NO worse than Dilger is Tom Perry, loves a big Track. Im sorry to say but with these signings goes Panthers hopes of the Play offs. -
Yes, a good win by Cradley, good solid Team performance, which i have to admit was helped by Mildenhall throwing some points away needlessley, an unexpected away win. Luke Harris started the season reasonably for Kent, then lost his way a little and his Team place at Kent, must say on this showing deserves a Team place somewhere, could help a few of the lower Teams, namely Scunny, Buxton and Devon who struggle to field a full Team most meetings they compete in.

Musical Chairs At Lakeside
greyhoundp replied to E I Addio's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Slightly off topic, but a valid reply to a point raised, There are all British riders in the NL, but due to the EL Draft and PL taking precedence we have lots of RR and guests in the NL this season, so just being British wont solve the problem, but having 2 race nights for EL, 2 different race nights for PL might go some way to solving it. -

Seems this date has been cancelled due to rider availability, another date to be arranged. -
I dont think HT claims to be more qualified, he is giving his opinion, wether or not people agree is up to them, we all have opinions, and i tend to believe on the whole HT tends to give a genuine unbiased view.

Abandoned after Ht 1.

And The 4 will be Storm, Mildenhall, Kent and Cradley. -
Yeah Just checked it out, Stevie is at Berwick.

Will the Heathens win this or the weather, I understand its a full strength Cradley versus a Mildenhall Team without Josh bates and Jack Kingston, There is only going to be one winner if it goes ahead, Mildenhall might get to 30 with the double points, but just been told the weather is a bit dodgy right now, showers around and about, no way i am travelling up from Bournemouth.

The home banker on the Coupon i dont know what Kings record League home win is, but its likely to come close should the weather permit, just hope all the riders stay safe, as Kents track can be tricky to ride, especially if you go wide looking for the dirt. -
Can someone possibly Phil Morris answer this Question with regards the current averages and the Draft list ?. Nathan Greaves current NL average 6.36 Benji Compton current NL average 6.37 Nathan Greaves Current draft position, 21 Benji Compton Current draft position, 25 Now i may not be the brightest spark around, but i cant for the life of me understand why Nathan is higher than Benji in the draft, can only be due to some manipulation by people running the draft, but for what reason ?.

Maybe its something to do with Matt Fraud and Sky Sports and this Euro League idea thats been mentioned a few times, how can Fraud enter any Euro League if they aint Elite Champions. Perception can be everything and as an outsider to the EL Teams, i can see where you EL guys are coming from, it seems to happen every year more or less.

Surely everyone realises by now, every time Philips opened his mouth, it was a lie, if he told me it was raining, I would need to check for myself because i certainly wouldnt believe anything he told me. Like you say 400k over 2 years is a mind blowing figure, and would average out at about 10k per meeting over 2 years. I ask you this, as an accountant would you allow that to continue for so long ? with little or no prospect of ever getting it back i think we all know the answer to that one. What i cannot understand is why on earth did he not sell up at the end of last season ? unless there were already debts which were being covered up. Whatever the closure of the Brummies as i see it is down to 1 man and 1 man alone, and thats Alan Philips. JJ, yes you can, just put allegedly in front of what you say.
-
Maybe not, but until recently they had been doing reasonably well, and we {Cradley} didnt beat them by much more than Kent. Just because we are top, doesnt mean we have to go around with heads bigger than Gas Ometers.

Looks like Benji could be missing against Stoke. No, and Brandon is still on there also, though it says on his Fb, former rider at BFR.
