  1. There are different kinds of riches i guess, Brum in comparison to some other NL Teams are probably Rich in terms of Stadium facilities, Rich in terms of Rider potential, Rich in spectator potential, but very Poor when it comes down to these potential spectators actually coming through the gates at Perry Barr. The old saying use it or lose it, has never been more pertinent than 2015 for The Brummies PL racing was tried with a measure of success, EL racing ended in disaster, and now NL racing is being tried in what can only be described as a final throw of the Dice, Tony Mole has once again been the savior of Birmingham Speedway, but should this season be a failure, i think even he will decide enough is enough, he has signed up a very good NL Team for 2015 even without knowing the final rider, if they dont challenge for League and KO Cup honours i will be absolutely amazed, it remains to be seen if the Birmingham public will support NL racing, but it will be there loss if they dont.
  2. Well we have Benji Compton, Ben Hopwood, Ash Morris, Ollie Greenwood, Rob Branford, Luke Chessell, Luke Priest, Adam Kirby, Tyler Govier all out there without Team places at the moment, some decent point scorers there and with potential to improve, which of these are going to end up at RH ?.
  3. So as everyone suspected Arron Mogridge is the final signing for Cradley Heathens, heres hoping he has an injury free year and he can push his average up.
  4. As you say maybe not the best, and definately not the worst, outside chance of the play offs, depending who that No1 is.
  5. Seems that you can re declare even before one meeting, as Max Dilger has found out, but yes in Adams case it would need to be after the season has started.
  6. Jeez Max Dilger, Rebels would have been far far better giving young Nathan Greaves a Team Spot, it would have been a year of settling in to PL but Rebels would have benefitted in 2016, Dilger well how many chances has he had ?.
  7. I have to admit, Phil Morris has used his contacts with Youth Speedway to good effect, cant really fault the Team building. It needs the Birmingham public to get behind the Team and support the Management in there efforts, and these young kids in there efforts for The Brummies, Im sure you will enjoy your Speedway again, no need to worry about if so and so is riding, this is your team get behind them, at £120 for a seasons racing what is there not to like about it. You will find these young guys are much more aproachable than some of there EL & PL counterparts.
  8. Ya Money does talk, remind me why Eastbourne dropped down?, not one but TWO divisions.
  9. Correct i am not, so lets see who they could have signed, Ben Morley was never going to leave Kent, James Cockle pretty much the same as what Easty have already signed, Dan Greenwood Likewise, Jon Armstrong again the same as the previous two, Dan Halsey never going to leave Mildenhall, Adam Ellis i think he prefers a Track other than Eastbourne, Max Clegg & Nathan Greaves leave Cradley for Eastbourne ? I very much doubt it, Josh Bates & Sarjeant not doing NL this season. So of all the No1s they didnt appear to have much choice. Possibility maybe Mills could have been tempted. Lets look at the lower order, James Shanes they missed out on him to Kent, Aaron Baseby happy at Kent, Jack Kingston happy at Mildenhall, Coles more than happy at Mildenhall, i could go on but Im not going to check team signings just to prove a point that Eastbourne didnt have much choice. Granted Eastbourne dont appear to have a greatly attractive Team, but they should be able to finish mid table, and when Rye House finally name there Team, that will prove how difficult it has been this season to build a team, especially from scratch.
  10. Its not been easy for Eastbourne to build a side from scratch, firstly with the 36 point limit (but that applies to every team), secondly they are in competition geographically with Kent and to an extent with Rye House, yeah maybe they missed out on Adam Ellis but did he want to ride on a track with Arlingtons shape ? plus Brum had a ready connection with Adam Through Phil Morris & Neil Vatcher. I think they could have attempted to sign Luke Chessell who 2 weeks ago said he had not signed for anyone at that time, plus Benji Compton would have given them a stronger No1 especially away from home, but we dont know if attempts were made to sign these riders.
  11. Has to be Chris Widman i would have thought, cant see Stoke wanting to waste over a point in there Team building.
  12. Seems Im hearing Sam Chapman is in there somewhere, we wont have long to wait now, before we know.
  13. Really surprised to see Ben Hopwood hasnt got a Team spot yet, nor Benji Compton, Luke Chessell, are they going to Rye House, they all deserve a Team Place.
  14. You mean Danny has only been riding for 8 years ?
  15. Welcome back Matt Williamson, leaves us 4.53 for the piece of the jigsaw, interesting as to who that might be., The jungle drums are suggesting Aaron Mogridge.
  16. So have you noticed Josh Bates hasnt signed for anyone, but i have my doubts he will want to do 3 Leagues, though if we have gone for top heavy as you say Dan G, but Im pretty sure him and Lozza go back a long way, Im pretty certain Lozza will have him back, probably as Storms Captain. My own thoughts are unless there is another Ellis Perks and i havent seen or heard of one, we will have gone for a progressive middle points scorer, and usually we go for at least one steady eddie type rider, but with 11.13 left we have plenty options. If its two middle of the roaders then Sam Chapman and surprisingly i have heard Gareth Isherwoods name whispered, and he is the steady eddie i mentioned.
  17. Max Ommer Um Clegg back at the Heathens for 2015.
  18. Welcome back Captain Clegg, as expected Max Clegg re signs, and is probably the youngest Captain Cradley Heathens have ever had in there history.
  19. Well i thought Luke Chessell made tremendous strides towards the back end of 2014, yes he still has a fall but not so often, but i did notice this seems to happen when a rider is in front of him, and he cant choose his own line so easily, However Luke is one of the best gaters around so that doesnt happen to often, also his style seems more natural now, and we musnt forget he held the Bronze Helmet for a short time that in itself is NO mean achievement. I expect Luke to gain a 7+ average this season. Now why bring this up on a Brummie thread, well Luke is still available, and for me just the type of rider Brum need, and a few other Teams for that matter.
  20. Dont know much about Harvie Banks except he has a good pedigree, from what I gather on the jungle drums, Brum have there 7 all sorted, what might prove to be an issue is Adams average, it seems Brum advisor Phil Morris seems to think his average is his lower NL average of 8.90, whereas other NL Team managers suggest it is his higher 9.34 average, now if Brum have sorted there 7 riders, it will be interesting what average they have used. So it seems there pre season has been similar to last year in so far as that they will have Team manager who hasnt signed the riders, unless Mr D comes on board, that is if he isnt already.
  21. So where did the 8.90 come from,? when 2 current NL Team managers told us Adam was on the higher of his two averages, oh i forgot Phil Morris has connections haha.
  22. Adam Extance is the first signing for Buxton.
  23. First signing being announced this morning...
  24. I think this is the 2nd time Danny has retired in what 3 years, may i suggest he made the correct decision, as he will only be throwing good money after bad. Concentrate on his business and forget about the perceived bright lights.
