  1. I didn't realise there was any hype about Bradley Andrews, he is simply a young man who wants to give Speedway in the NL a try, he missed a large chunk of last season through injury, he has relatives who rode for Cradley, and those contacts have been continued when the family visited the UK a couple of years ago. Bradley is just an ordinary kid who wants to give it a go, there is NO hype, he isn't a BWD, he is a rider who looks decent from the gate, but still has more than a few rough edges to iron out, absolutely NO hype only what other people are making up..
  2. Only three Heat leaders of which he will soon be one. .
  3. Great to have Jack Kingston in the Team, he reminds me a lot of Jason Garrity maybe a tad more controlled, but Jack has the potential to go a long way, this year will be a big year for him the 3rd Heat Leader spot is a vital role to fill.
  4. I love how people criticise riders off track antics, Ellis is a rider who doesn't like to get beat, and when he is he shows his frustration often with himself, Ellis is a rider who will improve will love the Smallmead Track. This is the kind of signing the IOW needed and if he can get some help and advice from fellow Aussies based on the South Coast, then he should push up to a 9+ average, he was held back last season by riding with an injury, and during one spell he did well to finish his races never mind score a point, taking that into account he is on a bargain average.
  5. RIP Derek i remember him as a steady rider at Cradley, back in the early 60,s.
  6. Would love to see Jack Kingston, however being a weekday track I doubt it would suit him, and then that would mean we would need a good 3 pointer at reserve, and I don't see many out there, one other option is Ishy but like a previous poster, I don't have anything against him personally, but he doesn't set my pulses racing, much rather see a youngster looking to move forward in the Sport, rather than a rider who rides when it suits him, and lets be honest does not have much ambition..
  7. Id say yes, to big a gamble to take in the main body, considering he only had a 4.5ish average 10 years ago in a League that may not be as strong as the current NL.
  8. Completely agree, with regards Perks and Harris, who I thought prior to the start of the season was a good signing on 3, but he never really progressed, and if anything went backwards as the season progressed, Kelsey Dugard is the stand out 4+ rider, and should go well around Monmore, and as for Isherwood not so left - field as you might think, been mentioned in a few places, and from one usually reliable source.
  9. So Cradley Confirm that Perks, Greaves, Neale, Mogridge, Govier, and Harris will not be back in 2016 for varying reasons, so we need 2 x 4+ riders or a 5 +4 looking at 21sts list of 4+ ers there is only one available, and I'm almost certain he will be heading back to one of his former Teams.
  10. Welcome back to James Purchase, however Does anyone really think we would sign a rider NOT knowing his average ?, mind you it makes for decent Spin I guess.
  11. Well now thats the Bacon, and if the egg and beans are Chapman and Shuttleworth, you can make that a Full English and Brum favourites for the Title. .
  12. Arron Baseby really has a false average due to his limited away meetings, his Brother Mark is a far better bet than the younger Baseby.
  13. Ellis, Branford, Perks, Shuttleworth, Nielsen, Webster,
  14. Yeah maan, but Dazza rides for Ippo on IOW racenights maan.
  15. Welcome to the NL, Diamonds like Georgie Wood, and Danny Ayres cant be found every year .
  16. The rumours from down our way, are that Williamson is destined for the Colts.. having not got a Team place with the Heathens..
  17. Returning to the Sport ? That's a real Teaser, some are saying its a rider who has been out for 5+ years, on the other hand it could be one who has suffered injury, it could literally be anyone, to many to guess at.
  18. I see there was at least one other rule change at the AGM: The rule was changed at the NL AGM. A rider with a PL average under 5 without a EL/PL team place can accept an NL position safe in the knowledge that he doesn't have to relinquish that place if a position in a higher league subsequently becomes available. So that allows young British riders without a PL team at the start of the season, to get a NL Team place and stay with the NL Team even if he gets a PL Team place later in the season, a common sense decision, which allows riders like Ashley Morris to continue there riding careers. Had this rule not been in place it could have meant Ashley (and maybe other riders) may have been without a Team place anywhere, and in the ludicrous situation of being British, 21 and basically left on the shelf, with nowhere to go, and loads of none British riders riding in other so called British Leagues.
  19. Welcome back Ash, and by all accounts he wont be the only ex Heathen returning .
  20. Its not true that an EL rider cant ride NL in 2016, and is only true in the PL if a PL rider has an average over 4, even then if the rider does Not have a PL spot he can ride NL even if his PL average is above 4. As an example of the EL, NL; Max Clegg is riding EL & NL with Wolves and Cradley, he is also riding PL with Edinburgh, but that's because his PL average is under 4. There is nothing preventing a rider riding two or three Leagues, so long as his averages allow it.
  21. Nathan never became a Cradley asset, and so far as I am aware is not an asset of anyone.
  22. At the season ticket sales night tonight there was a crowd any NL Team would have been glad to see, must have been 200 and a long que all night long to the Sales table, what a guy is young Max Clegg, straight back from his holiday in Tenneriffe, and down to the Club house in Cradley, and some wonder why the fans love him.
  23. Well I am not so sure you are right, Brum will have the best 2 reserves on paper, that 40 point limit will mean you can have Tom, Zach, and still leaves you with 16 points for the other 3, personally I would go for another 3 pointer, and use the 13 points for two progressive second strings. I don't know why the tactical rides have been done away with, but seems a pretty sensible agm all told, Great to see The Islanders and Colts back in the NL, except for reinstating Play Offs, never agreed with them, and never will.
  24. The point I made earlier about James not beating Top riders, has to be taken in the context that I said it, when you are against another heat leader yes he can come from the back, but when up against 3 other Heat leaders its so much more difficult, as by the time you get past one rider, very often the other two are away and gone,.
  25. Good NL signing is James Shanes, however there is one thing that will stop him developing past being an exciting NL Heat leader, and thats his gating yes its possible to come from the back against NL second strings and maybe one heat leader, but when you have to do it week in week out against PL riders its a darn lot harder, just look at Rob Branford and your own Ben Morley who i consider to both being better riders in the NL at this moment in there careers than James Shanes, they struggle to get points in the PL James would struggle even more, but he is an exciting NL rider of that there is no doubt.
