  1. I wasnt there so cant comment from a personal viewpoint, but was it all 4 Back ?.
  2. I think you are being a tad harsh here UK M, you have a young Team, and they are bound to be inconsistent, yes you badly missed Perry rr scored what ? 5 points, and its pretty fair to say Bacon would probably have scored more than RTD. You will likely finish Top of the League as for 2 Leg Finals it all comes down to on the night, but probably you have a fairer Track to ride than the Two Teams that you mentioned.
  3. Brums reserves are different gravy to everyone elses in the NL, both of them can win races at every other Track, as you saw tonight yours cant, and Cradleys couldnt against you guys on Saturday, nor could they at Coventry a few weeks ago. Brum badly weakened by having to use rr for Tom Perry, and RTD didnt score as many points as Tom Bacon probably would have got, but hey they still won, and a hard earned point for the Eagles.
  4. The problem is that Basford should be riding reserve, at the moment he is being forced to ride in the main body of the Team, bcuz of other riders low averages.
  5. Though the Eagles are coming off the back of 2 good wins, and have some riders who ride PB well, ie 3 riders all rode PB last year as there home Track, so should know setups, I still feel Brum will win this by some way mainly due to there reserves remember they will be taking rr rides also. Having seen a few meetings now the League as a whole is shaping up very well, with Brum, Kent, and the Eagles being my Play Off tips, and the last place being between BV, KL and Cradley. Good luck to Connor Dugard on his new role as Eastbourne Team Manager.
  6. Nowt wrong with rich landowners subsidising any Team, so long as the Team survives, aside from that running a Team in a sustainable way is the way to go, just ask Eastbourne, and Birmingham, not afraid to drop down if thats the way a Team has to survive.
  7. Even more pertinent to the present situation was Milton Keynes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milton_Keynes_Greyhound_Stadium and the Following article shows how GI perform In 1999 the BS Group purchased the Milton Keynes Bowl (an entertainment venue) to add to their assets and soon after plans were unveiled for a new state of the art greyhound track around the Milton Keynes Bowl. The plan had council backing and would include a cinema, hotel and revamp of the entertainment venue. The news ended speculation about the BS Group selling off their greyhound tracks after the Bristol sale. Chief executive Clarke Osborne commented: "There is no substance in the rumours whatsoever” he added: "You only have to look at what the group has done during the past couple of years or so and what it has planned for the future. The industry knows that BS Group is constantly looking for new sites for tracks." Osborne also confirmed that they were still looking at sites in Bristol for a new track and when the company purchased Reading from Allied Presentations in 2002 they were challenging GRA as the leading greyhound operator. Meanwhile Bill Johnson became Racing Manager in 2001. Bristol never materialised and in 2005 the new Milton Keynes track was never started but the old site was closed regardless of no new site being ready. The last meeting took place on Boxing Day 2005, Reading would follow suit a couple of years later. Dont believe everything GI say, the situation at Swindon can best be described as worrying.
  8. Yes i saw Jack that year against Cradley, and i remember one particular outside pass, and was happy to see him sign this year for Cradley, As for the Under 21 Semi i had Jack down as one of the Favourites to progress, i think his score reflects his current riding, sad to see its turned out this way for a talented rider.
  9. His heart hasnt really seemed to be in it this year.
  10. Do i honestly think it will be built by GI ? No seeing is believing.
  11. What people dont seem to grasp is GI do not need Speedway, they dont need a large Car Park for Greyhound racing, in fact they can make more money (lump sum) if they have a smaller Car Park (hence more houses) just for Greyhound racing, and eventually thats the way they will go, their past record proves it. The Planning Committee should have insisted that they build The new Stadium before they built the Houses. There is a way around this, they simply reduce the Stadium Capacity, then they wont need 200 more Car Parking spaces.
  12. Yeah, well done Dan greenwood, i bet he wishes he could ride at central Park every week, he certainly goes well there.
  13. Mate you deserve a medal, those are a heck of a distance to travel reguarly, I thought mine was bad Bournemouth to Cradley (Wolverhampton) for home meetings.
  14. Dan Bewley, has already ridden around Monmore twice which is regarded by some as a trick Track, and others as a Technical Track, and he was so impressive that Cradley booked him as a guest for the 2nd occasion, i doubt it will be any different at Rye House, and it seems he aint a bad gater, which always helps .
  15. Depends if its in the interests of British Speedway, just ask Craig Cook lols
  16. Sorry to say Compton is not a No1, and the IOW management should have known that, if they didnt they should by now.
  17. If its on, i cant see IOW even getting close sad to say.
  18. Cradley Heath Speedway Supporters recenty formed a Supporters Trust https://www.facebook.com/heathensspeedwaysupporterstrust/?ref=ts&fref=ts Now I wouldn't think this is suitable for every supporters club out there, but it could well be a way forward for people trying to re-introduce Speedway to an area, or even to support Teams that may be financially on the brink, The Heathens Trust have recently joined the Supporters Direct Organisation who are a none profit organisation http://www.supporters-direct.org/ This may be of some help for supporters worried about the long term future of there Teams.
  19. well yes, I did forget Ryan (5.13) he will definitely reach 6 points but will he double it ? I think a lot of people may well underestimate KL this season, Dale has made some shrewd signings this season, and I fully expect an injury free Nathan Greaves to be pushing for the No1 race jacket.
  20. Brum have the best pair (not that Iv seen them lol) without doubt, it wont be easy for anyone to double there average, so this season I will say no current reserve will get a 6 point average at seasons end.
  21. Havent seen the tweet, but I'm guessing Canal Street, I was told it was to be used as a Depot for Building Hardware for the proposed new Metro, and like you I understood the new Metro was supposed to be the old Freight line. Canal Street, Dudley end of Brierley Hill, where the old Bus Depot used to be for those of a certain generation that can remember .
  22. Correct, but the last I knew was that there was/is a Trophy for being Top of the League at the end of the season in addition to the Play Off Trophy, I don't know if its been discontinued.
  23. Not often that I disagree with you Waco, however in this instance I do, This Team may win the Play Offs, but it wont win the League. The big advantage that Eastbourne have is that we all know The Spillers are waiting in the wings for later in the season, which will no doubt give them a boost at the business end of the season.
  24. I think there are some pretty unwarranted comments on here about Ben, and on another thread about Darryl Ritchings, neither of them are likely to be World Champions, but you know what you are going to get with both of them, they are what it says on the Tin; 7+/8+ riders who have an occasional bad meeting, combined with regular double figure scores, without riders like these there would be no NL. . By the way Heathen 1984, we are talking NL here, maybe you could show a little more respect to NL riders they are in the NL for a reason, and please be aware that some do read the BSF Forums, and they ALL put life and Limb on the line for our entertainment.
