  1. If Joe Lawlor was unavailable, would this be the first ever meeting to be held without any of the Teams signed riders actually taking part ?.
  2. Who the hell runs the Sport ?, Im sorry to say it shouldnt be the riders, It should be the promoters who provide the opportunity for the fans to come and watch the Teams that the riders ride for "Teams" is the most important word in all of this, i dont want to watch "rider for hire merchants" if they dont like it then bugger off, these are the rules if you dont like them they know what to do, we managed before without having doubling up we can manage again, it may be that the Sport has to take a step back before it can move forward again.
  3. Looking at the weather forecast, if its correct the meeting will be lucky to go ahead.
  4. So are we suggesting this rule was conveniently overlooked "for the good of the sport" so to speak.
  5. Yes it seems we have heard about the same people, as for UK mentioning this experienced promoter holding hands for two years thingy, who is holding BVs hand ?.
  6. But the other question that is rarely spoken about, is do the Premiership want 12 Teams ?, that would mean the TV money being shared more thinly around, and Im guessing some would be against that. In my opinion British Speedway can only sustain 2 Leagues now, one being the NL which leaves 18 teams, if the Premiership can only muster 6 Teams which is highly probable then there can only be one way to go. Im predicting 1 League with 16 Teams plus the NL, Not through choice but through necessity.
  7. Really!!, you can see the Premiership increasing ? i think the Premiership as it is now is finished, now i dont know for sure but listening around and there is no firm basis for this, but KL, Leicester, Somerset are three Teams who i think are more comfortable in the Championship. So Im exactly opposite to you as to which League will increase. Just which Teams do you think would want to be in the Premiership ?.
  8. I had heard two potential new owners had expressed an interest, but how serious that interest is i have no idea, on the other hand it could just be gossip. So with that in mind one is an ex promoter with an unenviable record, the other is somewhat left field but would be an exciting prospect..
  9. Yes and it was only thanks to Joe Lawlors split second reactions in dropping his bike, that helped Rob not to receive a more serious injury, he was following very closely behind when Shuttleworth came off.
  10. Really enjoyed the first meeting, the second was disappointing due to the withdrawal of Bewley, then when Shuttleworth had to withdraw because of another injury it was just a case of damage limitation for the Colts. The big issue was the Parking, the Stadium management are aware that there are major roadworks nearby and Sutherland Avenue is on the diversion route, so therefore Sutherland Avenue was coned off on both sides of the road, all roads around the Stadium were full of parked Cars, but the Wholesale Market (a brisk 5 minute walk away) was closed and could easily hold 2/300 cars at a quid or two apiece. I think the promotion need to be made aware that spectators moved Cones from one side of the road so that they could park the Cones are there for a reason..
  11. Was not the Brum v BV away meeting only rescheduled last week, so why do the IOW have to suffer this week
  12. Lets be realistic about this, Last week i was going to Brum to see Daniel Bewley not to see Brum, not to see BV but to see the most exciting prospect British speedway has had for years, when i knew he would not be riding i decided not to go. Tonight would have been an opportunity for supporters on the South coast, and on the Island to have gone to see this same rider, now they have been denied this chance, there is no way this will not affect the Warriors business it will. No rules have been broken as they are written, but surely theres an unwritten rule "that this is not in the spirit of the competition" basically BV are withholding two riders services, no matter how you dress it up...
  13. What should have been the Warriors best attended meeting has been somewhat reduced in value by the withdrawal of Jack Smith & Dan Bewley from the meeting due to supposedly resting them due to a heavy raceload. I really feel sorry for the IOW promotion who work so hard to promote the Sport on the Island, and the supporters who were looking forward to seeing two of the UKs brightest prospects ride on the Island, it can only be regarded as a kick in the teeth for the promoters Barry Bishop, Martin Widman, and there hard band of workers, Its totally wrong and should not be allowed, There are some that maybe think no facility should be allowed, there are others who think a points loss should be given, then others who might think BV should compensate IOW financially, none of these things will recompense the Warrior promotion nor its supporters for not being able to see to good young british riders out on track. Yes the Warriors will be up against it tonight, i really hope they can win this meeting, and i hope its a sell out crowd..
  14. Yes Dan would be the first to admit he was probably hoping he would have done better this season, for whatever reason it doesnt seem to have happened, yes he has increased his average slightly but i think he and the supporters were hoping for even more. In my opinion as a supporter, and a teeny inside knowledge i think he has had problems finding the right set ups, early on i know he had clutch issues, purely from what i have seen as opposed to being a little in the know, when he has gated he has looked good, when he has missed the gate he hasnt seemed for the majority of time to have had the speed. Good luck down at Kent Dan he will do a job for you down there.
  15. Well the way the League is panning out, you could well have the three South East Teams making the play offs, making for at least one more local derby.
  16. Okay do you want to see an email i sent to said council official, do you want to see the list of 10 Councillors we have spoken with, do you want to see the list of 10 Council officials we have had dialogue with both verbally & written, does that sound like they dont know anything about it ??. Like i said the article didnt do anyone any favours..
  17. Yeah a very close meeting tonight, i think most Mildenhall, Brum, and Cradley fans will be hoping Lakeside win this, if that happens it will throw that 4th place back into the melting pot, and nullify Kents win at Mildenhall yesterday.
  18. Typical reporting Deanno, some truths, half truths, and untruths, but the bottom line was it did no-one anyone any favours.
  19. Well if these are the most up to date plans, they are obviously already out of date, so more stalling from Clark Osborne and Co.. is this application for another 100 houses ? http://pa1.swindon.gov.uk/publicaccess/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=OPDHO0PT0EE00 i was looking for a whole site plan, but couldnt find them..
  20. and so long as the guy that i know, and you know of is involved with this which he is, then it has no chance.
  21. Looks like it was a great meeting, however something i was looking forward to from the report was the F2 Trials, and reading the above its seems they are still not ready for League racing, so it would be nice to read what were the actual problems were, and whats actually causing these problems is it the exhaust systems ?. How long has Peter Seaton been on this project now, I really wish him well with this but it seems there are still difficulties to overcome.
  22. there was overnight rain, but i think if it stays mostly dry,we could get away with this one, should be a cracker.
  23. Was July 31st the deadline for new signings in the NL the same as the senior leagues.
