Heathens Planning Application
greyhoundp replied to martin_t's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Taking advice from experts, can you recommend any expert that it doesn't cost money to get advice from ?. I'm not going to comment on personalities at this moment in time, but I will defend what we have done on the Lion Farm project. -
Heathens Planning Application

Theres no money been blown mate, if you knew the amount of hours put into this it would amount to about 1p per hour were we to be paid, its easy to sit behind a keyboard, and make comments, try coming on board to help.Wherever a site is found money will need to be spent with NO Guarantee of a positive outcome at the end of it, like this project mentioned for an Outlet Village, there is no guarantee it will get planning permission, Fields in Trust, The Charity Commission, Sport England will be just a few objecting to this, so this proposed Outlet Village is not guaranteed, but money talks. -
Heathens Planning Application
greyhoundp replied to martin_t's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Very interesting to read that an option has been in place since 2012, Lion Farm is registered with Fields in Trust for perpetuity as a Playing Field, and has a Covenant on it with the Charity Commission that they remain for Sports & Recreation use, so with at least 15 football pitches being lost, plus the recreational amenity, its not going to be straight forward to develop this site as another retail outlet, its already been said by one Councillor the site can't be built on, but brown envelopes have a way of changing minds. -
Tony Mole Farewell Meeting Wed October 11th
greyhoundp replied to guitar_art's topic in National League Speedway
Maybe a best of three races between Andy Graham, Arthur Browning (Brum) and Alan Graham, Dave Perks (Cradley) something of that nature but not on laydowns, spread the races out to give them chance to catch there breath. -
Cradley V Eastbourne Tpnl 11 Sept 2017
greyhoundp replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
The biggest impact besides the weather has been the Championship allowing 2 point average riders, this has meant mid average riders from the NL have doubled up, forcing the NL to use even more guests than before.. -

Rider for hire nights to continue in British Speedway for 2018, great carry on believing everything is hunky dory, but believe me many fans have had enough.

So in that case it shouldnt be difficult, Poole can race on Mondays, Wolves race on Mondays, BV i understand can race any night, KL i think can race most nights Swindon race on Thursdays, the following i wouldnt consider to be "Much" higher up the ladder, Leicester any night, Somerset Not sure about, RH again not sure about. So i would hazard a guess its one from four that the conversation was with, discounting BV as they are a new promotion.

Cradley V Eastbourne Tpnl 11 Sept 2017

Ahem, its nothing new for fixtures not to be completed by the cut off date, to my knowledge this is the first time its happened to Cradley since we have been back, thats not to say it shouldnt be happening, for more seasons than i care to remember theres been a rush to get fixtures completed in time, this season has been no different, i predict next season, and the season after, and the season after it will be the same, British speedway never seems to learn.. vacant dates in June, July when the weather is at its best, meetings held in the warmth of March and October when its lovely and warm not.... -
Most teams that run from a greyhound Stadium will have difficulty running on Friday or Saturday, these two nights are usually the nights the restaurants are full at Greyhound meetings.

Tonight ?, is he riding for Wolves or Somerset seeing as thats the only meeting on tonight..

Cradley have never been promoters at Birmingham in recent years, however one of our management team has. I think it could be worthwhile Cradley taking on running from Perry Barr in the short term, however whats the situation with regard buying Birmingham ?, why would the Cradley promotion need to buy out Birmingham when they only really want to run Cradley. Im sure some sort of agreement could be reached as it seems a little bit silly to lose two teams when they both have enough support to run at least NL racing.

Chris Harris And The 28 Day Ban
greyhoundp replied to SCB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just to say Richard Hall, and Luke Harris rode in the Masters ? I understand the ACU meeting takes precedence, were they not to appear at the Masters Grasstrack, they would be in trouble with the ACU, its the ACU who stated the riders had to ride in the Masters rather than in there respective speedway meetings, It then reverts to which speedway rule covers this eventuality. So maybe the thread should be about Chris Harris, Luke Harris, Richard Hall, facilities were allowed for all of them so no conspiracy, i realise the NDL rules allow a facility for a rider being unavailable for whatever reason, but we were told it was due to them riding in the Masters. -
Kent V Plymouth Nl 11th September
greyhoundp replied to Dave Stummings's topic in National League Speedway
Kent will be to strong all round for Plymouth. -
Fixed nights wont stop it though will it ? if you are saying PL one night/day, CL another night/day, NL another night/day theres no way agreement will be reached with landlords on three different days, the best way would be one league plus NL, but the senior Leagues are not interested in what the NL needs. The 2 point CL rule has helped the CL, and help the riders get more experience but made rider availability for the NL very difficult..

People always seem to forget, when we talk about 1000 or 1500 people through the gate this has to cover home and away costs, if said rider scores 12 points at home, and 10 points away thats 22 points money the rider has earned, all taken from the 1 home meetings gate money. However the fact remains, promoters simply should not be paying out what is not coming in, if riders dont like it tough.
